Besides recycling my family also has installed power-saving bulbs instead of the normal ones. Though I've recently had a scientist tell me something that is not advertised in those energy-saving bulbs... They have a very high emission of waves in the gamma-wavelength, which I think is somewhat worrisome, considering the health issues...

Heheh...

In need of some info...
TX3RN0BILL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So I finally find myself in posession of WoE and installed it yesterday, and I must say that it's great already! My version is 8 point something but I think I still have to install some kind of service pack and the latest patch, right? Now, what I found strange is that I tried to fly a CAS mission with the A-10 and there was no option to equip any AGM-65s, which I found VERY strange, so I looked at the manual, and saw that there was absolutely no listing of objects and equipments that the game included... Later I discovered Thirdwire's site and saw a manual there, and there the ordenance was listed, so probably installing the patch will make all of the manual's weaponry available to me. I'd still like to know just what I can find ingame in terms of ground vehicles, and I'd also like to know which mission editor is the best - it's a pity WoE doesn't come with a nice detailed mission editor (I'm spoiled by Jane's Fighter's Anthology in terms of editors... ) - but I've read that there are third-party ones, where can I get the best? Is there a way to fly also the OPFOR planes in WoE? What about OPFOR ordenance? Is there any info on which can be found ingame? Has the community made more OPFOR ordenance as well? Still gotta get my hands on a nice MiG-29 and Su-27 since neither are in WoE apparently... And to finish: Is the Bunyap weapons addon available on this site the latest version? Will installing it make the weapons available in the loadout screen for any aircraft I might have installed that could handle said weaponry? I know it's a buckload of questions but I'd really like to get the most out of this game! Many thanks ahead! -

Many thanks again, guys! Now all that I need is to figure out which file I need to edit so that I can have more ordenance available in terms of numbers, not variety, in the ingame load out screen - kinda sux not every aircraft in my flight being able to carry the same ordenance as me, simply because the "store" doesn't have enough missiles or bombs or whatever available... any ideas? -

Thanks for the kind replies, guys! I must say before I even posted this topic I DID search the knowledge-base, though there are no specific topics there on how to make all planes in the game flyable, namely the soviet planes provided by it (or have I missed something? ) . Also, having installed the MiG-29C I've noted that also soviet AAMs are available to use, but no soviet AGMs, and there doesn't seem to be any centralized info on which soviet AGMs exist for use in WoE, does anybody know? Also, although there are lots of info on how to modify the loadout.inis, one thing I'd like to know is if there is a possibility to change the availability of weapons for the default ingame Loadout screen? Cause I really think it's a bit ridiculous to have limits in terms of ordenance availability... Many thanks in advance for the indulgence of these newbie questions! -
Dunno if this little gem has been posted before, but sure was good enough to give me a laugh... talk about a nice air-to-air kill!!!

The problem is, whilst in OFP the FM was good enough to be useful and not drawing too many criticisms, in ArmA, BIS decided to change the flight model, and IMHO they fixed something that wasn't broken, which was the worst they could do. Since this is a complete battlefield game trying to simulate everything at the same but excelling at none, I think they should have kept OFP's FM which at least was still useful... I refuse to fly planes in ArmA 1.08 as-is!

Civilian Aircraft - do they exist?
TX3RN0BILL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi there! This is my first topic and I must beg you not to shoot me since I know this is a combat sim and not MSFS, but I was wondering if there are any small civilian planes just for the ambiance and the occasional scenery flight around? Something like the classic Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, Cessna 172 and Skymaster, or the Beechcraft Travel Air or the Piper Twin Comanche? Or probably the sexiest twin-engined civilian turboprop plane ever built, the Beechcraft Starship 2000A? Cause I've taken a look around most of the popular download sites for Third Series games and found none... -

Is there any skin template for the A-310 anywhere? -

I admit I also keep coming back more to OFP than I visit ArmA, especially because of the bugged plane flight model, which seems to be based on the helicopter flight model, which isn't that noticeable in OFP as is in ArmA, with the current 1.08 patch this is FUBAR... Also, there's lots more community-made contents for OFP than there is for ArmA atm, but that is of course only temporary... Though I must admit I definitely hope that the Wanzer addons etc are brought into ArmA...

I agree 100%. It's as if Michael Bay completely forgot to give some sort of "life" to the decepticons, and someone bugged him about it, so he decided to make Frenzy almost too active... I would never think of him to have any sense of humour (like the scene where he exits Air Force 1) or any bouts of frustration (like slamming his head into a screen in Air Force 1) - I admit he's not a killer, he's an information agent, but still, I sometimes wonder at his inconsistent performance... Oh well...
-
Don't forget the most charismatic decepticon in the movie (also the smallest): Frenzy!
-
"Mojo? Is that what you kids are doing now?" - Police guy interrogating Sam. And for the best reply in the movie: Sam to the cop: "Are you on drugs?" And besides all that hiding and trouncing by the Autobots in the Witwicky's garden, I think one of the funniest moments was when Frenzy exited Air Force One... And for those of us who can't get enough of Transformers: The Opening Cinematic for the Game based on the movie!!!
-
I think the storyline begun with this movie will continue as-is... Though I have a gut feeling that we'll be seeing more of Cybertron, a lot more... Especially since my guess is that's where Starscream escaped to, to claim the post of new leader of the decepticons... But, that's just my line of thought, it's not like I have any insider information... though I wish!!!

Actually, LA's first foray into RTS was IMHO for its time a good-looking 3d RTS called Star Wars: Force Commander, but it was mired by bugs so the reviewers shot it down... I only played the demo of it. My first SW game was Star Wars for the Nintendo Entertainment System. After that came the first FPS game I'd bought, Star Wars: Dark Forces (where I think the Dark Troopers were best portrayed, all the rest is crap). Never flew X-Wing, and only tasted the demos of Tie Fighter and XwA. I played the SW mod for BF1942 online, which was very fun and cool. Then finally Jedi Knight: Jedi Alliance came out, and I even joined a national clan of that, which was fun (I had the battledroid skin, which with two lightsabres looked funny enough). SW Battlegrounds I also played some times in a LAN, but it really sucked compared to Force Commander... haven't tried the latest SW RTS franchise yet. And Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, sure looks promising...

Ah, thanks for the info... Now I just need to hope that some publisher from the english-speaking word decides to pick it up, translate it to english and market it...

+1!!! Who'd ever think that it would have a fountain of youth effect? Can't wait for the sequel!!!

Did I see something wrong or is it stated on their site that this game was already released? Never seen it anywhere though...

Nun, habe heute endlich WoE bestellt!

Most unfortunately Chris Latta, Starscream's original voice actor, has passed away some time ago, so we won't be hearing his screaming voice... Megatron's voice actor is still alive though, but unfortunately, due to options I'll probably never understand, they opted to have Hugo Weaving (from "The Matrix" and "Lord of the Rings" trilogies fame) voice the old buckethead... curiously enough they have Frank Welker, Megatron's original voice actor, doing Meg's lines in the game based on the movie... Seems like Peter Cullen is the only voice actor from the original series that is participating in the movie (in the series he voiced both Optimus Prime and Ironhide, but in this movie he only voices Optimus Prime) .
