What is does the ini file for a particular a/c look like?

The file that has the texture set descriptions on it is the 'ini' file with *just* the airplane designation on it -- e.g. 'F-4E', not 'F-4E.Loadout' or 'F-4E.Data', etc. I think these days you don't have to type anything in -- just dump the skin folder into the airplane folder, and everything else should occur automatically. -

I recently discovered something odd: my guys would actually get into dogfights with each other because of some invalid settings in a terrain .ini file. 20 seconds with a text editor and everything was fine again. Never would have guessed. -

You guys should probably just ask Lexx directly for recommendations on sun settings; he may have discovered something even better since releasing his nuke mod. Key data are probably just a handful of values in the 'ESini' file. -

You can alter the appearance of the sun by editing the 'EnvironmentSystem.ini' text file; a graphics program like Photoshop wouldn't do the trick for you. The 'ES.ini' file is bundled in the 'FlightData.cat' file located in the WOV 'Flight' folder. You can extract the 'ES.ini' file using the extract utility downloadable from CombatAce. -

terrain problems

I think in order to use desert terrains with stock SFP1 files, you have to have access to the 'Desert.cat' file from SFP1. I see a ton of terrain files listed in the 'Desert.cat' in SFP1 file that are not listed in the 'GermanyCE.cat' file in WoE, which could account for the white-outs you are experiencing. The only way to get legal access to the stock SFP1 desert tiles is to buy a copy of SFP1. I own SFP1 and WoE, and I can get the stock 'Desert' terrain to work in WoE because I've transferred a copy of the 'Desert.cat' file into WoE. -
