Do the thirdwire games work with each other?
MaverickMike replied to feldwebel's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
yup. all the second gen sims can be installed together to create a giant SF2 fest. you will have all aircraft, campaigns etc available in each game. -
Another typical example of why the british justice system is an absoloute joke. Release on compassionate grounds!? What about the compassion for the families and friends of the victims. One word which sums this whole episode up is SHOCKING! Mike

Just had a wonderful, exciting, enthralling and frustrating mission in SF2:V. Tasked with a strike in Noi Bai airfield my flight of 4 was ambushed by 4 frescos and 4 fishbeds on the way in. I got one and sent flight 2 after the rest while I continued with the mission. I destroyed the target succesfully and began my egress. Then it was as if the entire North Vietnamese air defence network targeted just me and SA-2s sarted coming from all directions went low to avoid them and in return got chewed up by a zpu-23. I got chewed up pretty bad but managed to fly the aircraft back to the carrier and landed. Only to be told I was KIA!!!!!!!! Gutted. As you can see by the shots the aircraft had no vertical stabiliser making it highly unstable and was barely flyable so it makes it all the more frustrating when i seen KIA. Oh well better luck next time I guess -
Iv started this thread because basically im in a rut and im after a bit of information. Ill start off by explaining my situation. I graduated from university last May with a degree in computer networks and have since been looking for work. I have been unsuccesful so far and have only had one interview. Its really starting to get me down as everyone was saying to go to uni and study etc and i feel that i have been left worse off than if I had just stuck with the a levels I received and found a job straight from college. I had a 2:1 in my degree which is the second best grade so I don't think my results have anything to do with it. I have been receiveing emails from the RAF regarding joining them and becoming an I.T specialist and was just wondering whether there is anyone here who does this job, knows anyone who has does or has done it and whether its a good thing to get into. Thanks for any help in advance Mike

Flying a strike mission with F-4J of the VF-96 Fighting Falcons. On my way home I noticed 2 MiGs picking on the Corsair below so I took them out, earning a DFC and becoming an ace! As you can see from the screenie, how the Corsair was still flying after taking such a beating is beyond me. -

Decided to try some aggressive low level flying with the BUFF. It was going rather well until the tower took out my right wing. I mean who puts a tower in such a stupid place??? -
I was just flying through a few missions in SF2:Vietnam campaign (rolling thunder 65) and ive come to notice something about the sa2s. Whenever they get me locked up they let off a sam and I watch as it goes up into the air, flies in my general direction and as i perform a slight turn or jink in any direction the missile misses. Where the sa-2s in these early days that easy to defeat? Don't get me wrong it makes for a hair raising flight when im going 'downtown' especially with the AAA but i feel the sams not to be much of a threat at the moment. Another thing is that the Sa2 is the only sam ive come across. Was this the only SAM in service with the NVA at the time? Cheers Mike

SA-2s

Im not saying that im ignoring them. Just that they dont have much significance. If my RWR is saying im locked up and someone shouts 'SAM Launch' then I do try and break lock and find the SAM thats headed my way. I usually find myself heading into a playground of AAA by then and that is definately not a good day out. Mike -

I hope i dont start a political argument here. If this is the case moderators can delete Having recently watched the news and a topic about the war in afghanistan im beginning to the think the media are trying to turn people against this war. The more of this im seeing the more the media seem to have a negative attitude (in Britain at least) toward what our boys are doing out there. With the economic situation the way it is maybe it would be better to bring the lads home, but that would be completely ridiculous. I believe we went out there to do a job and we should finish it. According to survey results released by the media earlier 80% of people questioned believed we should bring the soldiers home. I personally find this disgusting. The way the media carry are carrying on they will turn this war into another vietnam and have people turning on the soldiers. Just wondering whether or not this is the same in the U.S? Mike
