Hi guys. I posted a topic recently about getting a new rig for myself which should be happening before the end of the month. It will come with Vista 64 bit installed so i was thinking of getting sf2 and sf2:vietnam and have a couple of questions which hopefully someone will help with. 1. Is there much of a difference between the newer versions and the older ones with regards to the gameplay and graphics. 2. Do the games support multi-core processors or are they still just using the one. 3. The Spec of the computer im getting is as follows: Intel core 2 duo e8500 (2 x 3.16ghz 6mb cache), 8GB DDR2 RAM, Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 512MB graphic card + standard 22inch monitor. Does anyone know off the top of their head whether the game will run on high with this setup. One of the primary reasons im getting a new rig is to enjoy the thirdwire sims on high graphical settings which im unable to do on my current rig. Thanks in advance Mike

Hate to be negative about this topic but nothing is 'hack proof'. A good enough hacker will be able to penetrate most systems with the required time and effort. The best way to combat this is to ensure that the sites servers are backed up to an external location, or at least another computer that does not have access to the internet. Hopefully this will not happen again. Sad B£$%ards like this should be shot!!!! Mike

Good point :yes: . Ive been lucky enough to have both of these in my house (I own a Ps3 and my brother owns an Xbox360) and to be completely honest they both have there pros and cons. I think the xbox 360 has better graphics but the ps3 has more features. This argument could turn nasty lol. Just stick to PCs..... Mike

community weps pack is the most current i think. Also comes with the option to leave out dumb bombs/missiles etc which is handy if you never use them Mike

I have been thinking of buying a new gaming rig as the one i am using now is beginning to show its age and was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. At the moment im looking into a dell xps 430. Specs are as follows: intel core 2 quad q8200 (2.33ghz, 1333mhz, 4mb cache vista home premium 64bit 21.5" hd widescreen monitor (1920 x 1800) 6144MB1066 MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM 640gb sata hard drive 7200 rpm 512mb ati radeon hd 4670 The price on this system is £759 which is around the mark im willing to spend. If anyone knows of a better system for under £800 or has any experience with the dell xps 430 systems any help would be greatly appreciated Mike

ye the dell site offers a certain degree of customisation. However they don't have the options I need. Do you know any sites that are uk based that allow the building of a system? Thanks Mike

Thanks for the replies. Pretty much only play the thridwire games on my pc at the mo so as long as it will be good enough to play them in high settings (my current rig can only manage medium at 800 x 600) then ill be happy. Only problem is that on the dell website you cannot change the processor from quad core to dual core without changing the entire system . I would aslo prefer an nvidia card but again these are not in the system options.

Hi guys Just started a campaign in ODS with the VMFA-231 Ace Of Spades squadron flying the awesome AV8-B harrier 2. Having succesfully completed my first mission and RTBing i found it quite difficult to land the aircraft on the runway. I was just wondering if anyine has any tips on how to land the aircraft properly.I seem to be coming in too fast and end up landing on the runway and not stopping in time and ending up on the sand. Isit also possible to complete a VTOL landing in this aircraft? If so any tips on how to do it? Cheers Mike

Ok thanks guys. Just had a few more goes and manged to take off vertically with no loadout or ammunition and 25% fuel. Just have to practice the landing then.

Just had my first go at the awesome 'road to hell' missions in ODS. Gotta say that as a CAS fan it was brilliant. 1st pass i nailed 3 btr aaa and 4 trucks. Being the greedy person i am i decided for a second pass........ Bugger!!!!

Not taking the 9/11 attacks into account I bet that it was great fun for the pilots to be able to fly that low over the city. What a cool job!!!

Hi guys Just another seemingly noobish question to do with the TW sims I was flying a mirage 3 for the IAF in wings over israel this morning and we where tasked with a strike mission. During this mission i was hit by AAA and quite severly damaged. I had a lot of holes in the left wing, no rear gear, and only my left airbrake was functioning. I did however manage to get home so i thought id attempt a landing. I had to keep my nose down throughout the final and managed to stay on line using a lot of yaw. I touched down nose gear first and i gently let the back end touch the floor. KABOOM! my aircraft was then a smoking hole in the tarmac LOL. My question is this, is a crash landing possible in this series or do you always end up dead when a part of the plane that isnt supposed to touch the floor does? Mike

This campaign sounds great! Quick question are you going to be upgrading the ground units in correspondance to the air units?

Ive gotta admit that is pretty skillful. If the wings wernt perfectly level and one hit the water before the other then the results would have been far worse. Anyone who doesnt think this was a very remarkable piece of flying needs their head checked afta watching this. Mike
