  1. Hi community, I seem to be having issues adding these new ejector seats, but only to WOE default aircraft. I have the following entry in my data.ini for the default F-15A: [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=MODusaf SeatModelName=ACES II SeatPosition=0.00,6.53,0.54 MinExtentPosition=-0.40, 5.84, 0.04 MaxExtentPosition= 0.40, 7.25, 1.36 CanopyNodeName=Canopy_Rear CanopyAnimationID= And now, I have no seat AND no pilot! The only non default aircraft I am having issues with is the SU-24 (beautiful by the way). I've used the position settings as defined in the aircraft data.ini, but what I get is a pilot on one side, and an empty seat on the other! Anybody else had these issues? Andy.
  2. Worked brilliantly!!! Many thanks for all of your help. Andy.
  3. Don't have to worry? LOL That's what I'm saying, I'm getting my butt kicked! I'm sure the SA8 doesn't have that kind of slant range. Still, I have other worries now such as SA-11, -13 etc. Andy.
  4. Hi community, I've done some searching around the various .ini edits in the forums, but I cannot find what I'm looking for, so, I shall ask 1. With single missions, can I edit the number of aircraft that fly it with me? I think this may be predefined in the mission type. For example, if I fly Wild Weasel I only get my wingman. 2. Again, with single missions, when modifying aircraft I have flying with me, I cannot seem to alter loadout types. For example; Last night I flew a CAS mission in the SPAD, I had a squad of four aircraft, I selected two of those to be F-5A's which I wanted to fly top cover for us, but I could only select air to ground ordnance to load. Is there a fix around for these issues? As usual, thanks in advance to all. Andy.
  5. This is all a bit bloody previous.......... I just flew a single mission in a Tornado GR1, a mission to destroy an ammo dump. Gotta be something wrong here, I got engaged at 600 knots, at 50 foot off the deck by.....an SA8! I'm not saying anybody's got it wrong, but I was dumping chaff and flares all the way in past the IP, no radar transmitting, no ECM switched on, electronically silent. Not sure if I'm a good enough pilot to fly WOE any more!
  6. I seem to be dealing mostly with SA-8's, at least that's the reports i'm getting. Damn those things are fast! Could you point me in the direction of the better SAM trails please? I've used a set in WoV, but I'm not sure if they are the same. Would also like to know how to get more modern armour (instead of T-55's into WOE) Cheers Andy.
  7. Is it my imagination, but in the latest version of WOE, is it more or less impossible to see the SAM's as they come in? Getting my butt kicked bad. Andy.
  8. I have now made so many changes, installed so many different versions of this sim, and installed so many aircraft, that I think I'm going to have to re-write my campaigns to make them work anyway. A link to the tutorial would be nice. Cheers Andy.
  9. Hi community, I'm getting well into making all of my install what I want them to be, but need a little advise about nations. Example; I've added my Syrian repaints for MiGs, but their markings default to Soviet unless I modify them prior to flight. Is there an .ini mod around for this, so, say that all MiG-17's would be Syrian? Thanks Andy.
  10. JA37; not sure if I explained clearly what I am trying to do, so I'll go a little deeper. I have a number of setups of the sims, to attempt to cover a number of different wars, and times they took place. Example; I have the updated Desert Terrain in SFP1, and I want that to concenrate around the Arab/Israeli conflict of the 1960's. As a result, I do not want to have default Soviet or othrer markings avaialable on the MiGs, only middle eastern ones. Which has actually lead me on to another question.....lol. I have also installed DBS, and I would like to confine the "era' of that campaign from about 1968 until about 1978, but I find with some of my aircraft, service times run into the 1980's. I believe that this is just a data.ini modification in each aircraft, yes? Thanks for all your help. Andy.
  11. Hi community, I've been following with a lot of interest some of the 'what if' aircraft that the community has been developing. Absolutely awesome. I'm going to make another install of WoE to accommodate this, but I'm curious, WHERE in the world would anybody expect another possible global air war to erupt? Some countries such as Afghanistan are out of the question of course, but I'd just like to hear the views of the community. Just trigger by seeing a copy of Tom Clancy HAWX in my local EB World. Cheers Andy.
  12. Can't wait for this as well. Absolutely beautiful work, well done. Andy.
  13. Hi community, Just wondering if there are any additional skins available for this bird? Thanks in advance. Andy.
  14. Good afternoon community, Did a search on the forum earlier, but could not find an answer..... Is there any way to completely remove the centre "text box" that displays incoming radio messages, and also things such as remaining chaff and flares? Thanks in advance. Andy.
  15. Great seats, great skinds, simply awesome. Quick question though; how do we install these seats if the aircraft in question does not have any seat coordiantes in the data.ini file? Many thanks Andy.
  16. All I can say is.........FULCRUM!!! Awesome bird, and a flight I did last night sounds almost like a fluke, but it wasn't........ Chose to do an intercept mission in the year 2010, so went off with my group of red cohort. Get to the IP, and find we have to intercept a squadron of Tornado ECR........supported by a squadron of F-22s! I thought my flight was as good as dead, but we only had one loss, and I accounted for 2 x F-22 and 3x Tornado ECR. A thoroughly satisfying mission that I thought I was gonna lose, but it was nice to turn the tables on the "Blue Forces" for a change! Beautiful aircraft, well done all. Andy.
  17. An awesome add on indeed! This sim just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for the effort, it's appreciated. Andy.
  18. Awesome addon, many thanks!! Good work. Andy.
  19. I would just like to take some time out to thank all of the modders out there for bringing us ODS. This should be an entirely seperate sim within it's own right. Totally awesome, only just started to play, but I know I'll be well sucked in. As for the detractors out there, f**k off and go post somewhere else. Hats off to the modders!
  20. Hi community, I was making a bit of an assumption about something, but I thought I'd be better off posting a question so that I do not make a hash of things. OK, in the past, when I have removed the Cessna O1, the sim allocates another type of aircraft to be "Snoopy". What I was wanting to do is remove some of the "older" type aircraft from the sim (such as the MiG-17) to being the equipment more into line with the operational dates of a "Cold War". What I would like to know, is if I were to do so, would this cause things such as a campaign crash? Or has this never been done? Thanks all, Andrew.
  21. Am I the only person getting some transparent areas on this aircraft? Thanks Andy.
  22. Hi community, I am still having some weird issues with weapons in-game, and it seems to be affecting all games for me in the series, except for the Falklands mod. I'm pretty sure I've messed up, but I'm not sure how. OK, here goes. I am running the latest version of the weapons editor, with SFP1, Bering Straigts, WoV, and WoE. All of the sims are patched to the latest revisions. A few months ago I downloaded a weapons pack (not one by the Mirage Factory though), anyway, it contained a LOT of weapons, but the instructions read just to drop all of the folders into the "Objects" folder within the sim. When I extracted the CAT files, there was not a separate folder for the weapons, although in the Falklands mod, there is. So, I find myself with all of these weapons which I seem not to be able to use, or are not visible. Example; I just flew a Tornado in WoE, but there were no ALARMS available. Shall I create a new weapons folder in the Objects directory and just drop them in, or shall I just start the whole process again? Every time I run the weapons ed, it creates a file called "weapons.dat", and when that exists, I find myself not being able to select any weapons at all. Thank in advance. Andrew.
  23. Hi Spectre, Yes, I did screw up. I moved all of those weapons into a newly created folder and dropped that into the sim. just went and ran the weapons ed to give me more ALARMS, and hey presto! Problem solved. Sim must be very particular about it's directory structure. I only have a couple more mods I'd like to do now: I believe there was a mod to add more SAM's, make them launch more, but make them more visible as well. Is that mod still around? Also, does it hurt to remove the older aircraft? I am trying to make each install as accurate as possible, and WoE I date around the late 80's, so I'd like to remove the early MiGs and tanks. Not sure if this will crash the sim though; would feel better attacking T-72's rather than T-55's. Thanks again, Andy.
  24. Hi community, Just a couple of minor issues, looking for the more wiser ones in the community to help me. OK, here goes, I'm getting very deeply into Wings Over Vietnam, absolutely loving everything about it, but (unless it's my imagination) there seems to be too many enemy airbases around? Am I losing it? Whatever mission type I fly, seem to get an airbase right near it. Sure there weren't that many fixed bases in the real conflict. Is there an add-on that will increase the number, and the visibility of the SAM launches please? And finally: I seem to be having a problem with the weapons editor. Am I correct in assuming that when you modify a weapon quantity, it re-writes a weapons.dat file? I've found with ALL of my Thirdwire sims that if the weapons.dat file is there, no weapons will show. As usual, thanks in advance for all replys. Andrew.
  25. Hi Dave, I'm using the latest version of the weapon editor, and the game is also patched to the latest version. Cheers Andy.
