Final F-111C flights today.
Riley64 replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
The aussie pilots of the new "super bugs" say that the F/A-18F's flies better, but lack the F-111's firepower. -
Yes the man is serious...And don't call him Sherley. RIP Leslie.

Two south korean marines have died during the artillery attack and north korea has said they will continue the attacks and get this they blame the south koreans.

What type of planes do you fly as a real pilot, military, airliner or general aviation?

Tension is high at the UN after North Korea's artillery attack on a South Korean island Tuesday. Today (24/11/2010), both Australia and the United States have vowed their support of South Korea.

1/72 is my scale as well, I'm waiting with baited breath for this weekend as to start a Hasegawa F/A-18F which I'm to make as a RAAF No 1 Squadron aircraft. I've had the kit for about two months waiting for photos of the actual aircraft so as to work the decals.

I was just wondering how many virutal pilots build model aircraft whether the RC or the plastic kind, like myself.

RAAF F/A-18F

Just downloaded your SF1 skins and I see you even included the Australian flag on the vertical fins. Great job. I know what I'm doing this weekend I'm going to try and repeat this aircraft in plastic. -
Maybe something a little easier then, I remember reading a book, "An art of war" back in the '80's. Can't remember the author. I think he was Australian, so I don't if it was published over seas. But the story went that India captured the Cocos (Keeling) Island and Australia fought to get them back. Hopefully this campaign could use the Darwin (Modern) terrain.

RAAF F/A-18F
Riley64 replied to Riley64's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Looking at the photos again the F's do look more like a two tone USN grey. Where as the A model is more a blue-grey. My modelling and painting of any kind of aircraft begins and ends with the plastic kit kind, but if I can help anyone in any I .can -

Your work looks great so far. And yes I have SF1. I've also noticed in the close up of the tail that the upper surface color is a shade or too darker than the lower surfaces. I hope the photos help you in some way? -

The one on the nose does look like the USN. But I just the bloke that comes up with the ideas, so I would have a clue. -

Nice pics, however the photos I have seen of the actual aircraft don't the RAAF roundels on top of the wings. -
Can make an request that someone create a skin for the F/A-18F in the form of the 24 aircraft now serving with the RAAF No.1 Squadron? There are great photos of them on www.Airliners.net. They appear to the same colour scheme as the RAAF F/A-18A's and appear to the been numbered A44-200 through to A44-224.
