  1. OMG! F-13s outperform F-35s!

PREPOSTEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MiG-21's beating a JSF??? That isn't possible in the realms of reality (unless of course the MiG-21 was piloted by someone like Manfred von Richtofen , Walther Nowotny, or Adolf Galland and the JSF was piloted by a janitor who's just learnt to fly.) But there's some ambiguity in the Australian News article.... quoted in the ist post of this thread; It says that the JSF was beaten by Sukhois...but it doesn't mention which type of Sukhoi aircraft... and here it says that the opposing aircraft were F-13's (whatever that is)... Strange....
  2. Well Not exactly.... I was referring to something like the missile warning systems in sims like Jane's USAF... where there's a missile warning tone whenever there's a missile (either IR or radar guided) fired at the player....
  3. Don't mind me askin; but are the Windows Vista issues (water & terrain shader effects) resolved with these patches?
  4. What I was referring to is that such sensors would detect an incoming heat seeking missile based on IR emissions given off by the missile's guidance system or seeker head and perhaps its exhaust as someone mentioned earlier .... Please have a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directional_I...ounter_Measures
  5. Thanks for the reply... but don't Electro-optical sesors detect the infrared energy given off by an incoming heat seeking missile or something like that? please correct me if i'm wrong....
  6. Thanks for your reply, I understand your point, but what I was referring to is the later jets, particularly the add-on ones like the F-22, EF2000, Gripen and others.... can such sensors be added on to these aircraft?
  7. Dear All, I've recently purchased Wings Over Israel, patched it to the latest updates & downloaded the Mirage factory WOI weapons pack, and I've adjusted the compatibility options for the Weapon & Gun Editors that came with it to Windows 95/98 mode, However none of the options except the ' New Weapon' option seems to work.. ...& when I click the othe options like the 'open' option to open the weapondata.ini. the editor crashes... and the other options just don't work when I click them... I even tried re-downloading the weapons pack & editor but the problem still persists... Please could someone help/guide me as to what I'm doing wrong? My OS is Windows XP with Service Pack 2 This ISN'T a complaint..so don't get me wrong... Thanks in advance... Cheers!
  8. Dear SayWhat?!, I've just sent you a PM please have a look... hope it's helpful. Regards.
  9. Dear SayWhat?!, I had the same problem but I was able to solve it.... By any chance do you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed on your system? The Office Groove feature conflicts with the WOI weapons editor... Uninstall OfficeGroove & all will be well.... other MS Office'07 applications like Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook don't have any problems... For further help please have a look at this thread.. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=29718 Good Luck!
  10. Dear Stratos, I had the same problem but I was able to solve it.... By any chance do you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed on your system? For further help please have a look at this thread.. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=29718 Good Luck!
  11. Dear All, I know it's been said that adding new planes to LOMAC is impossible... I recently stumbled onto this page while doing a Google search... http://vozforums.com/showthread.php?t=26429&page=22 this page isn't in English though.. Has anyone seen this before? If so what do you make of it?
  12. If you do that you'll get your WF-33 but i think it'll (most likely) have the same flight model & performance as the Frogfoot.. I 'm not too sure about modifying (in this case improving) the flight model either... You wouldn't want that, would you..
  13. So you're saying that the above thread is just adding new aircraft by replacing a stock plane's slot? i.e... you can't add a new plane without sacrificing a stock one?
  14. Dear All, I've tried adding some of the add-on aircraft for the Thirdwire sims to WoI.. The planes fly and perform ok.. but I'm getting some bizzare visual anomalies... Especially the shadows... and it looks really botched up on the F/A-18F Super Hornet.. I'm attaching the screenshots with this post... this issue exists for a few other planes as well... Once Again: I'm NOT trying to find fault... I'd just like to know how to use these great mods properly... that's all ...so please don't get me wrong.. Thanks...& Sorry for any trouble..
  15. Dear Suhsjake, Thanks a lot for your reply... Everything's OK now...
  16. Another good one gone... Heartfelt Thanks to him for his services.... We all salute him... R.I.P
  17. Any more modern jet flight sim

Yeah...Of Course... I just hope it includes more stock modern jets plus has more advanced features of modern air combat like AWACS / J-STARS support, JTIDS like i said earlier, and of course proper mid- air refuelling... But don't get me wrong... I like the TW sims .. but i personally feel that these features would make future TW sims more appealing...
  18. Any more modern jet flight sim

Well... EA ought to make/release a more advancd version of Jane's USAF with better graphics, flight models & more accurately simulated avionics.... & Ubisoft ought to make/release some sequels to LOMAC like how it did for the IL-2 series.... IF ThirdWire has any plans to release a new jet combat sim, I hope it incorporates more advanced features of modern air combat like AWACS support & JTIDS for instance...
  19. Something F-14 Tomcat fans might be interested in....

Very Nice Talos.. Saw the other new F-14F Paintschemes ... They're Super-Impressive as well, especially the VF-31 'Tomcatters' Just A Humble Suggestion: Do you plan on doing one of the "Jolly Rogers" with regard to the F-14F? Please could you consider it if it's not too much to ask? Sorry for being too demanding...
  20. I would also like to request all WOI users who use MS-Office 2007, to have only Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook features installed... all the other applications, (especially OfficeGroove) that comes with it may cause the Weapon Editors to cease functioning...
  21. Dear USAFMTL & Fubar512, Thanks a lot for your replies... I finally managed to solve the problem... Even though i had set the compatiblity settings for both editors to Windows98 mode they refused to work as there was some conflict between the ThirdWire Weapon Editors and Microsoft Office Groove.. Once I uninstalled OfficeGroove both editors work flawlessly... Thanks a lot to both of you once again for your help & sorry for any inconvenience....
  22. Dear USAFMTL, Thanks for your reply... I tried that too but the problem still persists...please help... hope I'm not asking too much.. Thanks in advance & sorry for any trouble...
  23. I've also downloaded the alternate WOI mainscreen, & have followed the instructions to install it, but the game crashes... Please could someone help/guide me as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance... Cheers!
  24. Tried that too but it's still the same :( the above options still refuse to work, and when I click the 'Open' opttion to open The Weapondata.ini the editor still crashes... HELP!!!!!!!! Please...
