Yeah! Stick it to the man! If a product doesn't work properly, the company should at least replace it, it's not like they can't afford it.

I saw that there is now a .cat file compressor avaliable for download, and I was wondering a few things. First of all, just what is the purpose of a "security catologue" file, does it compress the files while still making them useful to the game, or is it just a way of keeping things in order? Then next thing is, can I compress other game data (weapon skins, .lods and .inis for example) into a .cat file to save space and still have the game recognise them? I am asking this because I am always looking for a way to free up a prescious couple megabytes of space on my 20-gig disk. I tried already, but it didn't work. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 10 gig external salvaged from another computer that I store all my pictures, media and some programs on, but SF on it lags to the "impossible to play" state. The reason I don't just get a cheap 100 gig external drive is because it's not worth it. It doesn't matter if I have terabytes of memory, there's only so much that this comp can do. I'm saving my money for a new comp when we finally downsize, which should be pretty soon now. And then I'm gonna splurge on WOV and WOE and all the stuff that I don't/can't have now! I'm just trying to improve the preformance to whatever I can untill I am liberated. -

yeah, I see that there's no hook, but you could also possibly land into the net... at least then you wouldn't lose the plane. -

single mission carrier ops would be cool, I still only fly singles because the campaign always freezes after the 23rd mission. -

sure is a nicely proportioned plane, but the best part by far is that Canadian flag on the side! yeah, the tip vortex is neat, the air musta been really damp for the alerons to have their own contrail! I'm guessing that it is also capable of a conventional carrier "landing" if the fan doors get jammed, but all those parts must make for a maintinence nightmere! -

I actually think that our current set-up is pretty good. Otherwise it'll be boring. -
Question for Our Noobs
Rambler 1-1 replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
back when I was a lowly 10 year old with everything set on "easy", i never bothered with the campaigns. All I did were single missions, and I was unstoppable with my F-4 full of missiles that could hit anything. -

oooo... I like the tigermeet sceme. I'm trying to put the Jolly Rogers decals on the tail to see how it looks, but I'm not having much luck. -
I think combatace should field a team. I figure it'd look something like this: I think I'll say neutral with the whole navy vs air force thing, seeing as Canada has both but neither are very noteworthy, and I'm a fan of the F-4, which is kinda neutral too.

wow, I had no idea that you were such a barbeque affectionado. Suprised me almost as much as "Kooking with Kruschev" ( ) did. I was feeling pretty good after BBQing up some pork steaks, but my efforts pale in comparison to that grand masterpiece of pig.

ooohhh.... theme.... oh well, here's one I took while trying vainly to stop a MiG from riding off into the sunset. Unfortunately, all I had left were rockets. And I missed. Badly. -
I can't watch Family Guy. It does have it's moments (flashbacks!), but it also has a lot of stuff that I'd really rather not see. I like the simpsons more because of Homer (D'oh!) and because it's got more puns and humor rather than profanity and illicit content.

Rambler 1-1 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
okay, my first attempt was a miserable failure. Maybe I'll try something a little less complicated. even if I do manage to cobble something up, It won't be high-res or very detailed. And the decals have been a problem. -

could it have been from a hawk that just barely damaged him? Ir maybe he went over-G in the spin and was damaged then. -

if anybody needs ideas... -the RCAF (Canadian, you know.) plans on getting JSFs, that is as long as Dion doesn't get elected. -SEA camo would look good. -try doing a skin forthe F-35 that got beat by the "F-13" -INVASION STRIPES! I would do these myself, but i have no idea how to use photoshop. And I have loads of homework.
