On my new vista computer my new install of WOE works fine, but every minute or so the game mutes itself. The game will then minimize by itself and the volume controls will open. All I have to do is uncheck mute, and then maximize, but this obviously shouldn't be happening, and it's very annoying as you can imagine. Is there a way to stop this? Thanks

Today I attempted to 7zip a file into my WingsOverEurope/Objects/Aircraft, and the file did not appear in the list. So I decided to just drag the file into the aircraft folder, and as soon as I did there was a compatibility files link in the aircraft file. I clicked on the link and there was a complete seperate install of the aircraft there. So I'm wondering why would the aircraft already be there but the name would not appear on the list, unless I drag it there. Thanks

I'm not a computer expert, as you can see. But how do you prevent this from happening, I made sure everything I extracted to the game was fully broken down to just the Aircraft, weapons file etc. So is there a way to fix this, because I'm not sure how. Thanks

This is more of a computer question, but several of the aircraft that are under Program Files/Wings over Europe/Objects/Aircraft in my install do not appear on the single mission screen, nor are they even in the game. I installed them correctly (I think?) but they're not there. Any ideas? Thanks

I've been playing thirdwire sims a long time, and have always wondered one thing. How do you get the best graphics, and quality? I have a new computer, and I believe I follow all the rules for graphical, and video enhancements setups. However I have never been able to get my game looking like some of the images on this website which look incredible. For example I have done all the Terraindata changes for shimmering water, the problem of the ground, and buildings shimmering as well, post Oct2008 patch but still cannot fix anything. Also all the aircraft still have the odd shimmering pattern around their sillhouette's no matter what I do. I know I'm not an expert, and all this is probably just my inexperience. But is there an instructional article, or any fix for an inexperienced gamer on how to easily get the graphics up to these great standards? I don't mind how long any fix takes, that's fine with me. I've recieved outstanding help from the members of this site, and I thanks everyone. But if anyone can help with this one somewhat large problem I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Again Everyone!

Well I just downloaded catalyst control center but it does not appear to be anywhere on my computer, is there a certain folder to find it in?

Where exactly do I find these options, are they in the control panel?

I recently got a new computer and loaded Wings over Europe correctly (Game,Patch,Mods) in that order. Anyway now when ever I'm flying a mission everything works fine but every minute or so the game suddenly minimizes. Usually I can maximize it right back but then I lose all video, just the sound still works. Anybody have an idea? Thanks

Well the minimizing suddenly stopped, I guess I fixed it somehow? However now when I play the game the volume mixer constantly mutes the game. I'll hit the volume button to fix this, but it constanly keeps happening. Any suggestions? Thanks

Well I'm not sure exactly, It's a Toshiba S6916, and I think I have the latest DirectX, it's the one that comes with the game download (WOE). And yes it has Vista.

The aircraft that aren't showing are actually flyable aircraft that I downloaded, such as the F-86f-40 from the USAFLateModelSabres pack, and the Mig-21F-13 from the Mig-21 pack. Last time I installed the game every aircraft worked, and showed. But this time they don't

Just wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix open canopies. Also how do you make sure it is only tanks you are fighting in a CAS mission. Thanks

I'm flying a single mission, and usually I get SAM's, Buildings, AAA, and sometimes static aircraft.

I was just wondering how to allow the Me-262 to carry Luftwaffe weapons, the Ki-84 to carry Imperial Japanese weapons, etc. Right now all the aircraft in my recent version of WOE only have Allied/U.S. weapons. Thanks

When I selected to fly the Mirage Factory F-15A today I noticed when I switched to external view that the canopy was open, the airbrake was deployed, and the missiles were not loaded directly on the aircraft but slightly below it. I'm not sure if this is an old issue or not, but any ideas on a solution. Thanks

Well I remember before I installed the October 2008 patch all sparrow variants had a rocket plume, which they now lack. Maybe it's just a result of the patch
