  1. ...at the risk of me sounding stupid, are you sure you saved the skin in the correct format after you made the changes ? I've had this happen to me, messed around for hours until I found out I'd saved it as 32-bit or something like that... SB
  2. ...that's gonna be a hoot! I don't know how many ALE-50's I wrote off flying Jane's F-18 back in the day... are they "destroyable" ? Meaning - Mr. SAM can actually take out your decoy while you run away bravely ? SB
  3. Metalmania, The boat's there - it's just moved a bit from the last waypoint. Go eyes out of the cockpit and look around, or use your ground search radar. If you haven't found her close to the final waypoint, just go into a box search and you'll bump into her. Or wander off for a bit, and watch to see where your wingies go... they never have trouble finding it! SB
  4. Wow! Very nice Veltro! SB
  5. ...I've been meaning to make one, but simply haven't gotten around to it. If I do, I'll share it with ya... (I normally keep my crap to myself... not nearly good enough for prime time!) SB
  6. Howdy, Did anybody ever figure out how to get the droptanks to drop?... I followed the earlier posts from FC but must have messed something up... Thanks gents... SB
  7. You know - even though I'm going to be happy beyond words when this beauty gets released, in a way it's almost going to be a shame... this thread, outlining so many of the steps involved in creating, fixing, and tweaking, has been one of the most informative, and enjoyable strings on this board in a long time. I'm sure there's a whole pile of "lurkers" who've enjoyed the learning experience, as well as the steadily increasing anticipation of what is going to be a major release. Keep taking your time folks... and do please take some time for yourselves. Since we can't buy you all a beer, it's the least we can do to be patient! SB
  8. For me, it depends on my mood. Some days, all I want to do is burn holes in the sky and have a good knife fight. Then on others, I'll get this desire to "go blow something up"... Ironhand is usually my "blow-up-of-choice", cus there's nuthin' as much fun as killing something out to kill you... but then again, there is something to be said about driving a Buff, Vulcan, Victor or Valiant and turning an entire continent into farmland... Only problem with those monsters is it makes Carquals a little difficult SB
  9. HMS Hermes

    Very Pretty Hinch! SB
  10. Jug, Last time I had that problem, the flighengine.ini fix stopped the problem for me... did you forget to check it after the new install ? Just a though Sir... SB
  11. After reading this thread yesterday, and having had my tail whacked in just about everything else, this died in the wool, go Navy or go home guy decided to give the light blue side a try, and started up a new campaign flying the Vark... what a hoot! I managed to get 3 missions under my belt, and although hairy, I managed to both hit the target, and get home each time... Like happened to you, the last mission I flew had me trying to get near the target, when it was completely saturated with MiG's of all shapes and sizes... my flight had dispersed over half the map, and between me dodging sand fleas 'cus I was going full tilt on AB at the amazing height of about 50ft, and then having to "run away bravely" in attempts to drag the MiG's near the friendly fighters, all the while dodging sams, missles, and no doubt the imaginary camel or two, I simply didn't have required number of brain functions left to try and get everybody back on track... I finally found myself lined up headed for the target, popped her up to 500ft, and simply punched the BSU's off when the target wandered through the gunsight... 4 BSU's right into the target... every time, my delivery has been the same - I've been somewhere between 500 to 700 ft and simply punch the button using the Gunsight as the aimpoint, and I've not missed yet... maybe luck, but I'm going to stick with it... the RWR will be screaming like a Berlin disco until you get back to walking height, but heck, it sure is fun... when I finally landed back at the base, I felt like I'd just gone through a wringer... DS Rocks... and maybe, just maybe I'll try out some more "light blue" birds... but only after I get in my daily Carqual! SB
  12. Yup... Yup... Yup... This is one heck of a campaign... I've been shot to pieces in just about every single type of coalition hardware, and have had my butt handed to me more times than I'd care to recount here. It's been a long time since a "pooter-pilot" managed to whack me, but from day one, this mod has been a humbling experience. It's a beautiful piece of work... even if I keep gettin' whacked! About the only thing I haven't been shot down in is the Wobbly Goblin... but the first time I tried landing it I came in so hot, I had to hit the escape key to get out before I "blowed up real good" after sailing off the runway. Tsk...tsk...tsk... must practice more! SB
  13. ...Wow! Been away from the 'pooter for a couple of days, and come back to see this! Stunning... simply stunning. Your digital models sure beat the plastic one's I make! SB
  14. I've noticed that happening in all flavors of Wo* since the last patches. If anybody in your flight gets attacked by sams, you have to recall them, because if you don't they'll wander off and start gunning the sam site... with all the sams flying around in this mod, it's just a bit more obvious - but I didn't realize it was going on until I used the map view to find out where everybody went! Just order them to re-form or RTB after you get shot at, and all should be good... SB
  15. I've read many of the same comments, but have also read reports from the flight tests; The Sea-Vark was simply downright deadly "behind the boat". Yes, there's always going to be arguments if the F-111B would've ever made it, but in the end, it comes down to apples and oranges: The Tomcat was designed from the outset to be a fleet defender, the F-111B was a politicians idea to save money... thank your lucky stars the "Experts" won the day and the F-111B was allowed to die the natural death it did... Now maybe it could've made it's mark as an Intruder replacement...(Runs and ducks for cover!) SB
  16. Anybody who doesn't fly the campaign is missing out on the best sim experience I've had since the old EF2000 days... the way this mod takes our favorite sim to another level is almost beyond description. Really, truly, excellent work by all involved... SB
  17. ODS

...Like everybody else is saying...WOW! Beautiful work to everybody involved! BZ!!! SB
  18. Wow, that's beautiful Veltro! SB
  19. Man... Every time one of you guys posts another picture, I'm completely impressed "all over again". One thing - it clearly illustrates the tremendous amount of work that goes into "getting it right". One minor change, a new discovery, back to the drawing board, and another couple of hours of your personal time gone to fix it. Those of us who download these creations never ever get to see that aspect - and all these shots you're posting just hammer home the message that this hobby takes just as much dedication as "real jobs". Thanks guys - really. Just know that your work is appreciated... SB
  20. I for one am very grateful for the work you've done: this is an excellent addition, and a perfect compliment to the previous release. BZ gents... SB
  21. Sorry, No screenies, but I just had to mention the flight I just finished. I was checking out Wrench's latest version of the Libya terrain, and working on decal placement for my .ini-hacked CS2F-2 Tracker (A-Teams S2F with basically a name change and a RCN paintjob...). It's 1962 for the game date - and my anti-shipping mission turned into me heading off to somebody's HQ over the desert (I really should read those briefings...!) Next Thing you know, we're jumped by 4 Yak-28P's... I order wingie to run for home... A Yak goes flashing past the office, headed directly at my homeward bound number two, firing away... I've got six pods of LAU-61's under the wings, so I crank it 'round on a wingtip, and fire off a salvo to distract him from my wingie, and wouldn't you know it, I hit the bloody Yak! Smoke is coming out of wingies number 2 PW, but he's still flying... Before you know it, I'm tangling with 3 Yaks, 2 MiG-15's, and even a couple silver russian jobs I simply didn't have time to I.D.... all the while trying to get out over the coast. I ended up chasing another Yak into the drink, but never managed to nail anybody with the rockets again... but after (no kidding) an hour, everybody decided to let the little Canadian Stoof to live, and wandered off home... Wingie made it home two! Score: RCN Trackers 2 Yaks, Migs, and Friends... NIL!!! Of course, I'd probably get told off by the CO when we got home... what the heck was I doing on an Anti-ship mission over the desert... looking for camels ? They're "ships of the desert" aren't they ??? Never thought I'd be dogfighting in a Tracker... don't even have a gunsite! SB
  22. ...I feel your pain! I remember the first time I tried decalling a RAZBAM Intruder before I discovered the joys of reading an .OUT file. I think I spent days on it before I finally got lucky. Good luck Sir... SB
  23. ...Veltro and Pappy working together. Talk about the rest of us being a very lucky bunch of people! Beautiful work the two of you! SB
  24. The pylons were angled due to ordnance separation problems that surfaced during flight tests. It's not aerodynamically pretty, but did the trick... SB
  25. Downright beautiful Ghostrider! Can't wait to have copies for myself! SB
