  1. Moorkey back on the air. I am finally, as of Monday, going to be able to get back on track with the UCAV EDI Project. I have, since December, been without my computer as it finally bit the big one. Sadly it is gone without hope of repair. On the bright side, I am getting a new one. On a brighter side, both the MSFS and SF versions survived the crash and will be progressed at short order. -Moorkey.

  3. UCAV EDI

UCAV Update... I am currently in the middle of a surge at work, so don't get much time at the moment to even go near any of my projects. Sorry for the delay, I know this one is kind of eagerly awaited. I hope I am not annoying anyone with the everpresent delays. -Moorkey.
  4. UCAV EDI

Yeah. Just the basics at the moment. Will post pics and/or aGifs soon.
  5. [For those who are following the progress of the parallel UCAV EDI project in MSFS, I have started a thread in the MSFS forum for discussion of the same. You will find it here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=23616.
  6. Sorry to come to you with my cap in my hand for assistance, but has anyone any tips on the LOD system? Do I have to build lots of separate models at varying levels of detail, or is there a function I can use to lower the detail level via 3DSMax? It's not that I am looking for an easy way, just clarification of the method before I proceed. Will appreciatre any help anyone can give. Thanks guys!
  7. It will surprise you to know that the canopy is there in the pictures. However, down to a material tweak too far, I made the canopy glass a little too clear. This is my next task in the ongoing EDI FS/SF saga. The gear has working wheels, and has had the gear doors mapped for separation, so animated gears aren't far off either. Neither is the cockpit luge opening/closing animation The problem is going to be the Aeroelastic Control surfaces (DAMN YOU ROB COHEN!!!). The shape of the wings is such that standard, hinged control surfaces animated to mimic aeroelasticity just don't cut it. I am still having aeroelastics, as I am stubborn and won't be beaten by something as simple as difficulty, it's just that the method i am going to be using is going to require a part heirarchy longer than an extremely long thing. As for the SFG version, I have not forgotten it (just thought I'd mention it before this topic gets moved). I am currently re-working the animations, and attempting to understand UVW texture mapping. I am also making some lower detailed models for the .LOD system of draw distance. Thank you for the continued support amd advice. I assure you it will all be worth it in the end.
  8. SFG Version is going to be a bit longer, simply down to level of experience. Have been modding for FSDS for years now, but have only just started learning SFG. Currently attempting to UVW Map the model, but that isn't going too well. 3DS Doesn't seem to want to do what I want. Please bear with me.
  9. Here are in-development pictures from msfs 2002 with Carrier Ops (Flight Deck 3). Hope these are clearer than the pics of the last one.
  10. Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this one, but when I play LOMAC, after about 5-10 minutes of play, the screen goes bright blue, and I have to CTRL,ALT,DEL out. Can anyone help?
  11. Pretty much. Haven't had much planned, so fired up the coffee percolator and the CD player and knuckled down to it. P.S Both MSFS and SFG releases will be Combat Ace exclusive. My present for unwavering support and patience.
  12. Will try to light the shots up. If you would like a version for fs2k2/4, then a version for fs2k2/4 you shall have! Will be ready in a short while.
  13. Ego Evolo Relucesco! (I Fly Once Again!) ...and I think this one looks a bit better. More blended and less part-heavy. Hope I didn't scare anyone! (P.S. Thanks for standing by me!!)
  14. Definition of Crisis: 1.a stage in a sequence of events at which the trend of all future events, esp. for better or for worse, is determined; turning point. 2.a condition of instability or danger, as in social, economic, political, or international affairs, leading to a decisive change. 3.a dramatic emotional or circumstantial upheaval in a person's life. 4. The state of events following my computer crashing. ...that's right, I am only now back up and running on my own computer (had to use my better half's laptop for a week or so). Unfortunately, EDI was lost in the crash, and the backups of EDI and other unrelated files I had on an external drive are also lost. I am now working apace to get a newer, better, backed-up EDI up and running. Sorry to have to spring this one on you all. News will follow as it happens. EDI Resurgam
  15. Straight out of the box. No mods or patches installed have only just got broadband.)
  16. Hi all. Just a note of request. I have got my aircraft built in 3ds max, with animations etc... and exported the LOD file, and the SHD shadow file, to a temporary folder. My question is: Where do I go from here? How do I get my aircraft into SFG? Also wouldn't mind some help on weaponising said aircraft. Any help will be received gratefully.
  17. Thanks for the help everybody. I am very much in your debt. I hope I live up to everyone's expectations...
  18. O.K. It's just that it starts, and runs alright (though I do have to drop the res to 800x600). Ah well. One for eBay then. Can you recommend any good sims?
  19. Okey Dokey: Pentium 4 2GHz, 512mb sdRAM nVidia GeForce 4 32 mb graphics Steam powered I know, but the game appears to work fine beforehand.
