[Fictional] Saab-Fairchild F-13A Draken USAF
Spectre_USA replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Been doing that with the Lavi, which was a converted J-10, from SF-1. I cannot get the things to show, even while playing with the decal.ini. I must be messing up something fierce, but it looks just like your Win7 directory. Decals have been kicking my tailfeathers for a lot of years now... -

What a wonderful looking "Dragon!" Are you going to release that even more tasty looking grey/gray skin you showed of in the screenshot thread? Puh-lease? -

1948 War for Independence Campaign
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Maybe I've been hanging around the RC crowd a bit much lately, as my mind naturally leaped there. It'd probably look great on an F-117, to duplicate the Radar Absorbent Material! Hehehe... -

Dangit! Won't someone please come along and ask a stupid question? I've always wanted to see someone get "clowned hard." Just to see what it's like... -

Enhanced SF2: Israel Terrain by CA_Stary
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Just flew a campaign mission through SF2:E, and this mighty fine terrain installed. It looks wunnerful! Now I am going to sprinkle in the trees, then the heightmap info. 1 step at a time, I always say. But even without these items, it looks very, very good. Many thanks, Stary, you hit a homer with this one! -
Roland Rad for SF2E
Spectre_USA replied to Florian's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
This ought to stiffen the ol' airbase defenses on my current NF4+ campaign in SF2E very nicely. Many thanks, AmokFloo, looks like a good `un! -

Back in the skinning business...
Spectre_USA replied to SidDogg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
>Looks both ways< Err, ST0RM? Whozat? Sorry, I'm not a squid, just a former Zoomie with questionable taste in friends. What's a 12 Charlie? It would be kind of a hoot to see it in game, would blow the Cheif's socks off! -

Want a heads up on the next CAG jet for VFA-25? Here `tis, still in the paint barn; A Navy Chief I know and a couple of buds from the Pilot's Pub got together to design it. I have some "during" shots, if you'd like `em. To be officially unveiled on Tuesday, 4 May 10, where another Pubber will have a 1/48th scale model of it unveiled as well... -
Help Uploading add on aircraft
Spectre_USA replied to thebeast0449's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Like most IPBoard & PHPBB based sites, you are the only one that can see your warn status. As to the upload issues, how big is it, all zipped up? Maybe your ISP is blocking a certain size limit, and that is why pictures work? Maybe Dave can shoot you an EMail address for this one time and he can upload it? Don't you love it when people answer your questions with questions? -
Which SF2 game is the best?
Spectre_USA replied to guyran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
As an ex-USAFE drone, I can relate to the locales and aircraft in WoE/2 the best. A close second is Israel, but my mood vacillates between the two... -
Something Evil This Way Comes...
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Boo-yeah! Always loved this jet, quite possibly my favorite in the series. Actually on mission 3 of an NF4+ campaign flying the beauty, and now it looks like a nicer one is on the way, too cool! I reckon I'll be flying another soon then. I just hope there's an IAF skin in there for my fictional Isreali campaign... -
Somebody asked about this...
Spectre_USA replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Richard Hermann Jr. Now there is a name I've not seen in quite some time. I may have to dust off his books and give `em a re-read. I wonder how well they aged. Largely different world since the boom-times of techno-thrillers. Clancy, Coonts, Dale Brown, Harold Coyle, et. al., man I used to consume those books in one bite! -

BAC TSR.2 "Thunderstrike" Super Pack V1.2
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I know this is going to sound odd, but I do have a pointy head, so here goes; Can the FM prevent the AI wingmen from doing as they are asked? I swapped out a Tornado squadron for these firey beasts in NF4+ modern, and gave it a whirl. The AI in both A2A and A2G did exactly Jack and Squat. I was basically up there alone with some re-assuring words, and the entire Soviet bloc air armada having their way with me. I have never flown an aircraft where the wingmen couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper sack, especially in such a lethal weapon in the players hands... -
Saitek AV8R-02 and SF2:V
Spectre_USA replied to Orangehat44's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'm very happy with my X-52 Pro, which recently replaced the X-52 standard I used for over 4 years with no problems. Been flying the WoX series with them since the beta, in Win98 through Win7, with the exception of Vista, as I never did let that OS touch my gaming rig... -
