  1. Wow, I just popped in after being away for a few days and hear this? A tragedy at such a young age. He was, indeed, one of the good guys, and gave selflessly to this community. He will be deeply missed by many. Condolences and prayers to those he left behind...
  2. Be sure to check the pylon max weight allowed, and the carriage length, as these can be limiters as well.
  3. If it works in Vista, it will most likely work in Win7. They are pretty darned similar...
  4. All the pics are missing too. Lost interest in a couple of months, maybe?
  5. Er, OK. Better a little late and working well, than early and FUBAR. Maybe something as cool as the RWR in SF2E will be elicited, eh?
  6. Boo-yeah! I learned something here today. I figured that this was a "flight of fancy," pun intended, until I Googled up the 65th AGRS. The USAF Aggressors are back! And have been since `05. I did not know that. They disbanded 3 years before I got out of the Air Force, as a member of Wing WA. (431 TES, 57 FWW.) Eagles as Flankers? Inspired! And your virtual recreations are excellent. Most excellent!
  7. If you routinely take up 8 shipper missions, you are going to lose a lot, especially in the first half-dozen missions. Between SAMs and enemy air the attrition rate can get huge. I usually fly with 2 or 4 max. Mostly 2, but even singletons if there is a single fixed target for a strike mission. I have found that friendly AI can be much more sputid than enemy AI, and they will drop like flies. If you do the first 3 to 4 missions in a campaign as 8 shippers, even when suggested, you are gonna be mighty lonely come missions 5 & 6...
  8. It should cobble nicely in with the imminent release of SF2I, at least I hope. I think it would have been cool as all get out if other countries/air arms had bought this contender. Too bad the economy could not have fit both in the USAF stable...
  9. It might just be. Cheers for the run-through, Wrench...
  10. You've piqued my curiosity. I have done a crude edit to create a 2006 Lebanon War 2, which has more modern aircraft, etc. Flown it a few times, love it. Since the Gaza Strip is an indicated location, could be made belligerent and a 2008 campaign created? Lots of Katyushkas, and the like...
  11. Awesome is not the adjective I used. Other, more colorful words sprang forth, shall we say. `Nuff said, don't want to get political...
  12. Timor Campaign

Yup. It is, indeed, a fun one. Just finished a campaign, which was a little tough in the beginning. Don't expect the DMZ line to move, as it won't. It would have been better had they asked permissions from the various authors, but there certainly was a lot of good work done here by all...
  13. Yikes! My main man Spinners seems to have taken a hard left somewhere along the road! A majority I've seen are breath-taking, this one? Not so much...
  14. I have always lurved the Typhoon, and all aircraft modern. Every campaign I've flown stock, just to get a feel, will eventually get the EF-2000 cobbled in. It just has it all. Mud moving, lots of stations, hauls butt, and air-to-air extraordinaire! Plus, I have frequent flashbacks to the early days of simming with it, on occasion...
  15. I have a big ditto to the ramp striker. Except no Nukes, just the Mav-a-likes. Except, and this is where it gets weird, when I take this slippery beast to the range!. ALl present and accounted for there. Toss it into Europe on a single, mavs only. Same year as what works at the range, just no air targets capability. Exceedingly odd. That, and my attempts to `Americanize' the critter. Can't get USAF roundels to show on the wings, upper or lower. The man made a wunnerful model, but he used some interesting `tricksies' me precious...
  16. Member "Rank"

I only ever made Ssgt(E-5) in real life Air Force days, so the major sleeve full is interesting. But I want something cool and shiny like Eric's that starts with an "O." Where's the supply guy that can fix me up?
  17. I am getting a similar error using the CA - USAF skin. Also, a niggly little thing on my mini-laptop, but nowhere else, possibly a wide screen issue. I have to scroll to the right on forum pages to hit the "Go" button to return to the forum. Works just fine on my normal 4:3 aspect ratio systems, but this mini (Acer Aspire one) is my mail surfin' macheen!
  18. I am not at all into the Crimson skies era, as I went through it once and uninstalled it, but this is one cool and novel approach! Get a plastic model, render each part, then do a virtual assembly! No stinky glue mess, nor paint thinner spilled, put the "kit" together, then fly it, virtually. Oh, we gotta get Revell on the horn, we got a WINNAH here! Oh, ahem, sorry, got a litttle carried away, but I like it...
  19. SF? KFC? Dang, now I'm hungry again...
  20. I will feel much safer flying out of KGEG with the Grinch-meister in the tower. Welcome to the Inland Northwest!
  21. Ah, cool. Thanks. Sounds like it would be a short campaign...
  22. a-10

Where in hell did you find that piece of artistry? Sure, it was low quality video, and the music was a little low on fidelity, but the subject material r00led! "I'ma yankin' and bankin', killing Commies in their tanks..."
  23. So what, exactly, does this add-on do for Operation Desert Storm?
  24. Now this looks like a fun little flyer! Can't wait to get it home and give it a shake-down flight on the range. Mucho appreciado for the efforts required...
  25. I cheated history a little by pretending that the USAF hustled the certification for conventional carry for use in Desert Storm. Not exactly hustle, they had 5 years, but made it more of a priority for SAC to assist in the tactical role with their fine, new, Aardvarks on steroids. It is a fun fit in the ODS campaign, IMHO...
