  1. There's just something about the SkyRay that rocks! Wish the USAF had a few. This looks like a wunnerful, mega-pack. Many thanks!
  2. Dat's a lotta rivets! As i am sure you can attest to. Lookin' mighty fine at this time. Cool `scope...
  3. The Tiffy is back on track? Rock-and-flippin'-roll! Always loved that jet, the last one being the best iteration, so can't wait to see the latest. I'm glad you got the help you needed Bongodriver...
  4. I don't recall flying the Hun since my first campaign in SF:P1. That's been a few years. I will be flying it again, thanks to this new skin! Many thanks, hgbn, it looks wonderous...
  5. No problem-o. I'm not the Hun's biggest fan, but this one I LOVE!!!
  6. Sorry for the late reply, but yes, it is. >Google, Google< Here `tis! Free as in both "free speech" and "free beer"
  7. I've actually had pretty good luck using Notepad++ to look in LOD files. Heck, I even saved one after editing the base skin name, and it actually worked. YMMV...
  8. I'm pretty sure there have been a few fits and starts on one, but don't recall it ever having been released. I, for one, look forward to our Canadian Overlords...
  9. Yeah, it is. Lovin' that Red Devils logo on the tail... ___EDIT___ Looked lame without the post above it...
  10. OK, So I have a thing for the USAF, having done the deal for 14 fun-filled years, and wanted a new, exotic airframe flying the USAF colors. The J-20 is a neat beast, so I tried to do what I did when I converted the J-10 into an IAF Lavi. It all works good, and shows up as the F-40 Warhawk II as I intended, except for 1 thing. The black skin is, well, black. Well, the name is black, but it is a fine mottled grey when adorning the Chinese one. I changed everything in all INI's from J-20 to F-40. I changed the names of all INI's to F-40. I even changed the lines in the OUT file, referring to the J-20.bmp, and saved it in Unicode format. Still a black, as opposed to a grey like the SF1 series, tone to the jet. Where have I erred, kind sirs? Once I get that sussed, I plan on pressing on with changing the loadout, loding scren, etc.
  11. Cheers Kevin, I just wanted a clean and pristine folder called "F-40" with no reference to any Chinese aircraft. I'll just name the skin back, as all else works OK. As to the decals, there are none, at least there is no decals.ini. I may have to hand map them, which as you know, is a tedious and time-consuming endeavor from scratch, but it would be a worthy stablemate for the F-22 and F-35, IMHO. Maybe I'll even gin up a goofy little story to how it came to be, or summat...
  12. Yessir, the very finely crafted Lurking Dragon. I was afraid it would take an edit in the LOD file. I haven't monkeyed with a HexEditor in a lot of years. I'll probably just name it back to J-20, or learn myself hex editting again, after making back-ups of back-ups! Cheers for the insight... PS-Thanks for the hand, whoever changed the subject line!
  13. I did not know that, as they are a rarity. Anyway, there is a directory, with F-40.bmp called "black," case sensitive, in the F-40 directory. I did change it to USAF, was Israel, in the INI, and the squadron to the 431TFS. The LOD hasn't changed.
  14. Oh, Vey! Clown be hard? I meant to say Clown me hard, as a take-off of readme's given occasionally. `Be' just doesn't sound Cricket. A thousand pardons...
  15. Yeah, but, (Don't ya just yabbuts?), it is an immersion thing for some. I like to take off, do the deal, land and park. It just feels like cracking one open and saying, "It's Miller time" when you can pop the hatch and shut it down. Small things can be big things, which is not the same as less is more...
  16. Mirage over Mescalero! I love `pits that open, and nose wheels that steer. What a wunnerful combo.
  17. Wowzers! Just when we thought things were getting stagnant, comparatively speaking, we get 2 block-busters to start the new year! I am about to fire this fine looking beast up over Mescalero. Many thanks to the fine folks that put these wunnerful toys together. Here's hoping for a happy and prosperous New Year to you all!
  18. Some real beauties in there! Great job, USAFMTL!
  19. Purty bunny. I always had a thing for black jets...
  20. The man in San Antone makes some excellent points, at least from my perspective. Were it not for the modding community, this series would not have gotten this far, which really hasn't gone too far from a technology stand-point. I've purchased SF2:E and the Exp2, but that is all the investing I plan on doing in version 2, as I have always felt it was more like version 1.2, the terrain and overall sparseness has not kept pace with the increased systems capabilities out there. If the Tomcat sim is not a real step forward, I don't reckon I'll invest in that series either. Being close to the only show in town has its advantages, but they can't last forever...
  21. Did a test on my "old" SF2:E install as a test, it looked wunnerful! Carefully applied to my latest, greatest Exp2 and gave it a quick peek before heading in for my night shift. This is what the airfields should look like! Many thanks, sir. You have a Happy New Year, eh?
  22. Dang. I should have known my joke would back-fire, as you truly have meese, or mooses, or, whatever the plural is...
  23. Where you get flying moose? I have flying squirrel, no moose. Share, comrade? (To be enunciated with Boris Batinoff voice)
  24. Any particular reason for the 431st? I mean, is there historical significance, or were the Red Devils doing OT&E back during the days of the proposed F-103? The reason I ask is I was one of the last of the Red Devils. Oh, and, Sierra hotel looking zipper there... ___EDIT___ I reckon I found the answer from the History of the 431st; That would be a good choice, in this instance. Would love to try and fly it!
