  1. I had the same issue with A-10's in WoI, but from the opposite perspective, too high! The SAM's are ferocious in Syria, and here's my wingie diddy-boppin' at 10,000'! >Pop< goes the warthog! As to altitudes, I think they are adjustable by skill under AI somewhere. But, be aware, it applies to ALL AI, as in enemy too. Wish there was a separate area for friendly and enemy to adjust to taste. Anyway, the specific file eludes me at the moment, as I am not home where my SFP1E files are. I have to put them on my work laptop, as I have WoI here. Let me rummage, if no one gets back to you, maybe I will have found it.
  2. Esc Button issue

Been doing this since WoV or so. That ESC key is just way too close to the F1 key when you are flailing around trying to get back to center whilst looking at something else, though I reckon Lexx's idea has panache...
  3. I haven't even downloaded yet, at work for the next 27 or so hours. Will report in when I awake from my coma, but it may be a while...
  4. Yeah, I like to call those "maneuver kills!" Heehehehe...
  5. After running through the stock campaign a half-dozen times, I think this will be a cool switch. Especially if the Israelis actually get some SAMs and stuff.
  6. Well, that narrows it down nicely, if the 85's are OK. I don't reckon I will fiddle with anything more than, just hope a fix is forthcoming. Heck, I've lived with it since WoE, so I can soldier on for a while longer, I s'pose, as it does not effect in flight at all...
  7. Red Storm is prolly my favorite Clancy, will have to re-read it, as it has been years. Bear and the Dragon was probably the 2nd fave, but I digress. How do you lock up a sattelite? That would make for an interesting read of the brief; The Soviets are a little too interested in out ops here, clear the space above of their space based observation platform...
  8. Slappin' a SAM site!

  9. Speaking of graphics issues, I've had this one for a while. WoE, WoI, even 1st Eagles with my 8800 GTS. I actually went with a beta driver yesterday, to see if it would help. When I look at the map, it is fine. As soon as I move a waypoint, or zoom in, blech! I think I saw one other person post a pic that looked similar, but I could find no cure when doing a search for "map" or "planning. Any ideas on a tweak in an INI or with my nVidia software?
  10. Did you put anything to the right of the equal signs? I have mine setup thusly; ENGINE_TOGGLE=CTRL+SHIFT+E

  12. I have never heard of this situation before. What kind of video card are you using? Are there anomalies in other graphics intensive applications? I hate to answer your questions with questions, but this is an oddity, so thye must be asked...
  13. Be careful though, as if you go into the in-game interface, and change anything, it will flush the engine off ability.
  14. Yup, sure did. Hold on to them, they are exceedingly hard to come by, and maintain... __EDIT__ New page, quote needed.
  15. Yup, noticed the proximity versus ground targets for a while now, most especially when F8'ing to a fixed target, then doing an F12 disconnect and doing a wander around the area. Also, when a CAS mission kicks off, it waits until you hit waypoint 4 before the targets are "beamed in." But the parked aircraft seem more like, well, aircraft. They seem to have a mission to sit on the ramp and chill, and hit their 1 waypoint until a certain time, as all aircraft flights do. I'm gonna keep rummaging, but I think they are done on the fly, when a mission is generated for the player. Finding those missions in memory would rock, but is a bit more complex then I am able to handle.
  16. Ah, good. Was wondering about the chance= numbers, if those were stock, I'd have no prayer. Will have to go in and juggle those numbahs! Have you noticed them disappearing after a while? On my way from waypoint 2 - 3, I usually do an F6 scoutabout. I'll see some somewhere, and then go look again later, once the pre-planned mission is complete, and they are no longer there. It is almost like they have mission times, somewhere, and when their hard day of parking is over, they go home. Yet another reason I'd love to see a "save" button on the debrief screen, but I've railed on that one enough before...
  17. Since we're on the subject, how are the parked aircraft done in WoI? Has it been figured out as to entries? I saw very few in my 1st 3 campaigns, and they seem to expire as well. I would like to adjust number of airfields with parked aircraft to maxiumum, and duration to forever!
  18. You can try the galleries right here, which, thanks to Fates reminder, I've been doing a lot more lately, and full-sized! Check it out through the gallery link above, right...
  19. Sorry, church-goers.

  20. >Sniff, snort< Smells like squid in here...
  21. Der Rote Baron movie?

I did a search for "movie" in here and saw nothing. Well, cool, so folks do know. This ought to get the ol' FE juices flowing, eh?
  22. Mach 2 capable interceptor for sale. 1964 Saab Draken <<-- Linkage Maybe an official CombatAce aircraft?
  23. I notice most of the folks making the requests are in the single digits. They just don't want to research, even a little bit.
  24. I have gotten more than one like that. You usually are smoking from somewhere after the encounter, but ofttimes you fly on like normal. It happens more in FE than any of the jets sims. I have also collided from a little too square of an angle and detonated, so these are, indeed, "near missles."
