  1. So, like, anyone got any idea about the surprises? Hovercrafts? Eels? Sharks with frickin' laser beams? OK, I won't gie up my night job on this help desk to become a comedian, OK?
  2. On my 3rd campaign in WoI, and I've not noticed the MiGs grounding themselves. I have actually found them to be quite challenging, especially with the "almost a waste to hang `em" missiles in this iteration. No, I have seen some long and arduous battles with my Wingies versus AI, and the MiGs usually spiral upward at full burner. One oddity with the -21's is that on a few occasions I've seen them plug in the burners and just blast along around 20,000' for 80-100 miles at nothing in particular, wake up, and saunter home.
  3. Hey Sully, those look very nice for gap fillers. Will have to try them. And some more SAM's for the Israeli's would be very welcome, may have to try that BB...
  4. Well, the AI has definitely improved, but only the enemy's. I have lost a good many in my squadron in my 1st 3 campaign attempts. Not only are they better, but they really swarm now. Some may have asked for improved AI, well, we got it. I had 3 aces in my latest Phantom `73 campaign, but lost `em both in the last mission, a real meat grinder. I was lucky to have escaped....
  5. Youse guys are geniuses, or genii, or just really flippin' smort! The last of the triad for Integrated Combat Turns. Tapping into the weight on wheels, which has to exist somewhere, is not so important on this one, so it could be utilized behind a tanker. I may have to sacrifice an aircraft INI to test this out. Has either of you operationally tested yet?
  6. This sounds cool, an area I have actually flown over. Well, I hope McClellan AFB in Sacto is there, but I shall see, eh? Looks like a busload of work, thanks all for putting it together!
  7. Abso-flippin-lutely!
  8. I would love to know, as it is the missing ingredient in my much sought after ICT. Engine shut-down, check. Re-arm, check, though a weight on wheels switch would be nice. Running on empty, unfortunately, also a check...
  9. As to music, the 1st thing I do when setting up any game is shut it off. I don't care how nice it sounds the 1st time through, because after hearing it many, many, many times, it just gets old-ola...
  10. Hoo boy, it has gotten weird in here...
  11. Ooo, look, choppers to pop! Looking very nice, and I do dig the Hawk battery setup. Gotta get a few of those into WoI, I had a totally unhindered pair of MiGs in a campaign mission today. But that is a whole `nother can o' worms, I shall not tangent.
  12. As an ex-warthog armorer from the ers portrayed in WoE, I iterated this before as well. Especially when beta-testing LOMAC, it just seemed beyond folks to understand `the slant' load. I am sure some serious skull sweat will be required to get the outboards and center to load, yet the inboard to be absent. The LAU-117 did not come out `til the early 90's, but I had transitioned to the Aardvark by then, and the Maverick was rarely loaded. I welcom your attempt to get this rascal right, as I would probably strain my brain tryin'...
  13. My recommendation is to check for typos. That is, indeed, the way it is done. I added an A-10 as flyable in campaign, and just completed it. Works well...
  14. Do I detect a shrubbery? Looks very nice, will have to give it a big go!
  15. Backed up just last week. 2 separate hard drives. Clean installs to DVD as well. The biggest buggers are the 6 or so installs, as each weighs in to be bigger than mere DVDs can hold. How soon is BluRay going to grace computers? I need a B-R burner!
  16. F-35A

The mind boggles at the possibilities! I await the front burner project with great anticipation!
  17. Excellent! I was wondering why my kills weren't on the F-16, but are prominently displayed on the F-15. You may want to cross post this over at The Thirdwire forums so TK can add it to the list of typos for a patch. ___EDIT___ I just looked over at Thirdwire, and sure enough, you already did so. Nevermind, but still, good job!
  18. I just flew and armed recon in WoI, but as a single mission. A bunch of trucks Heading toward an airbase in Lebanon. The airbase was populated with parked aircraft! Used Mavericks to rid the area of most of the AAA, and had a field day. Gun runs and CBU's on trucks and MiG's, even in revetments. Ended up with a CMoH, and not even a stick of gum to throw at the remaining targets. Loved it! I hope to see some in campaign, but as I am flying my 3rd one in a Baz, it may be a while. Which brings up a peeve of mine, I would really, really, REALLY like to see the ability to save some of these missions for later play. Been rallying for it for years, only to fall on deaf ears. Seen some awesome ones which could be shared, which would rock!
  19. I wandered by here way back when it was BioHazCentral, and later learned that it was run by a guy here in town. Met MadJeff once, but never again. Then came this current crop of cut-ups, and it hasn't been the same since! Real dedication and love of the combat sim genre was evident from the moment the name change occurred. These folks are great! From good folks, came many more, and a lot with real talent. It has, indeed, been a pleasure to be a part of it, and hope it continues on for a very long time. Cheers gentlemen! And for the ladies, we'll chat later...
  20. Sadly, my review won't be on news stands until mid-May. Bad timing is my middle name...
  21. I discovered something neat on my last flight. When an AI wingman makes "Ace" status, their name displayed when hitting "Y" or "F6" is no longer their callsign, i.e. Eagle 13, but their name, i.e. Yitzhak Shamir. The only problem is that the next guy, presumably Eagle 14, is relegated to 13. No biggie, except he seems lost, hangs out on the threshold of the runway, and never takes off. At least on the 1st flight I witnesed. Weird.
  22. Oh heck yeah! Good to see some old friends from the Pub have come to help us out here! No tumbleweeds here!
  23. Holy guacamole Buff, that is not a smilie, it is an entire cadre!
  24. Before I even opened this thread, but saw shrubbery, I knew python-isms would be prominent. You folks make me so proud! Well those that don't smell of elderberries...
