WOE Air Defense Mod v0.1.zip
Spectre_USA replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Why are they shooting at me? I did a fresh install, and fired up NATO fighters, with the Hawk Missile add-on. Enroute to Hof, to assist in their defense strapped into a Falcon, I get missile launch! Head for the deck, chaff, flare, ECM, dodge, weave, close calls, but we get through and succeed. Checked the debrief, 5 Hawks were fired at me! It looked like friendly territory still? Anything near Fulda possibly overlapping and get "captured?" Tricky little beggars seem to illuminate through hills as well... -
Morane-Saulnier N “Bullet” (biggish images)
Spectre_USA replied to p10ppy's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Touching upon one of Charles comments, I would also like more wammo, but it is like real, which is the best. What I do like is just looking up and knowing how many of those beautiful sounding Hotchkis bursts you'll get before reacing over the windshield to jam in another magazine. The slightly different looking rounds are a nice touch as well. May have seen it before, but still... -

CTD amd microsoft error messages-Help!
Spectre_USA replied to dsawan's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Unfortunately, you probably don't have the latest DirectX, as Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, did not decide to name any version differently than 9.0c for over a year. The DLL's can help, but the full install is really required. Ensure it is dated AFTER 10 Apr 2007. <<-- Date is link. The link should get DirectX all in one sock, and allow it all to run nicely. Best of luck... -

Mirage Factory F-84F Version 1.5
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
The Mirage Factory always does an exceptional job. Snagalating! Thanks, gents! -
Bruce Almighty, Jim Carrey. He loses the anchor position, and gets "da power", uses it to mess with the guy who did get the job, while on the air. Saw that at the theater, and couldn't breath I was laughing so hard...

If it was a terrorist initiated event, they could not have picked a better, (worse) spot to do it in. I used to travel that route every couple of months while stationed up at the now non-existent, McClellan AFB. Serious interchange there, I'd hate to have to find an alternate route through there for quite some time...

A-5B Vigilante Version 1.2
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
After a self-imposed exile, I come back and find this mud-movin' beauty! The 6 week break did serve its intended purpose, rediscovery of the gorgeousness of this series of sims always makes it a welocme return. I took her up to the range, as usual to shake down new strikers, and it felt great, in a `70's fashion. Great job, gents! -

Spectre_USA replied to NGHENGO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ditto what the AAF dude said. Maybe a beta like the Talon? That went over quite well... -
Ah, the good ol' JibJab of yesteryear is back, nailin' it down. That "This Land" one during the last election was classic. Good to see the guys still got it goin' on...

I have a tracking number, but that doesn't tend to run so well, as there is no autorun embedded. Soon, my pretties, very soon!

F-111 In Vietnam
Spectre_USA replied to snapper 21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It wasn't the "A" model, it was the "D" that we experimented with a 20mm in the bay. It was found to be next to useless, and discontinued in favor of Sidewinder rails mounted on the shoulders of the outboard swing pylons. All non-swing, outer pylons were removed in the mid-80's. -
Sukhoi SU-34 Platypus
Spectre_USA replied to bwRavencl's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
But a highly accurate bombing platform, and that is what matters! And as for the Valkyrie, quite possibly the sexiest jet that even graced the skies! Besmirch her not! Not my opinion, fackt! -
SU-27 US
Spectre_USA replied to Falcon161's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised. I climbed all over a few during my time in, not 27's, but from my timeframe of the 80's... -
Shoot, get a chair with wheels and don't get out of it unless nature calls! Hope you heal well, I have a few pieces of Air Force metal in my ownself. It's never fun...

SU-27 US
Spectre_USA replied to Falcon161's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
There are none, totally fictional, but exceedingly cool. Flew one, but there were no stars and bars. Checked the INI, and it was pointing to SU-27, not SU-27_US for the USA-27.tga. A quick fix. But now the evilness that is placing of decals rears it's ugly again. I am gonna try to pop a "US Air Force" and a ACC badge on it. I suck at decals, so wish me luck. Cool skin and repro, gentlemen...
