Wow, a new dimension in immersion. This little bugger is fun as all get out, with that front funner and all. It is cool getting him lined up and watching o'er the top as he lets loose! Great job gentlemen... :thup

First Eagles Review in April 2007 Flight Journal
Spectre_USA replied to DWCAce's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Understood, would love to have mentioned you all, but I am just surprised they let my little list stick. I slid names in before and WHACKO, they were gone under the editors steely gaze. Indictments, subpoenas? Who said that? Whoops, gotta go! -
It would have to be a short tether. Could you imagine coming in just dangling and waiting to hit the ground at whatever their stall speed is? It was low back then, but way to fast to run!

First Eagles Review in April 2007 Flight Journal
Spectre_USA replied to DWCAce's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
You're just one of the folks that sprung to mind as being very helpful, with some cool innovations, etc. You're every bit an enhancer of the overall experience as any of the other in our wealth of contibutors, and highly worthy of mention in my humble little column... -

You should have scanned the 2nd page as well. It has my name on it. I also sent a PDF copy to USAFMTL. I was pretty amazed that the editors didn't drop the names, as they usually do out of hand. Maye since it was all call signs, they cut some slack. I'm just glad they did, so I could thank all the guys in print... -
How do you get thr DR.1 to come to a complete stop after landing?
Spectre_USA replied to jmoscola2012's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Been looking for that since SF, so I wouldn't hold your breath... -

Looks like either a A> Extended long, single seat platypus or; B> A very cool, adversarially painted target. -
More Flankers!
Spectre_USA replied to Marcfighter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I will want a copy of that Falcon, if Marcelo bestows permissions. That will look right honorably cool, IMHO, and will really freak out some aviation addicts I know if I post screenies of it! -
A Strike Mission to be Proud Of......
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
What's that, 4x MERs, for 32 500 lb'ers? I'm surprised it could rotate with that much iron. Had to do a "quick turn" on one with 2xTERs and 2xMERS once it training. Luckily I was on the jammer, as a 1 striper, so didn't get any of the infamous Phantom bites... -

Is this your 1st model USAF SP-type d00d? One helluva fine job so far. Have a great time at the Disney place. I took my son for his 9th Birthday, he loved it. -
YAK-41 FREESTYLE
Spectre_USA replied to gabilon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Snagged it up, will have to see how it fares as an adversary. Probably quite well. I also wanted to let USAMTL know that his Throttle quadrant is mislabeled as a Yoke. Prolly a typo, as the preceding pic in the animation is the yoke. I bet Deb would love you for that... -
More Flankers!
Spectre_USA replied to Marcfighter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
They are all damned good, but I am especially taken with the woodalnd colored on on the lower right. Not sure how accurate they are, but I've never studied the Soviet steel to any great degree... -
Can't get Le Prieur rockets to work...
Spectre_USA replied to Bandy's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Well, you can see it here, Capun's Skunkworks, but need to get a password to download it. That can be obtained by emailing him, though his address eludes me. Shoot him a PM, maybe? They do make excellent targets... -

I just have to remark how cool it is that TK mentions what files are effected. I have never seen that kind of service from a vendor before. -
Low-Res Planes WOV
Spectre_USA replied to j33l's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Greetz j33l. Check the knowledge base, I am pretty sure there is an entry on how to reduce the size of the skins to make them more FPS friendly... -
Strike Fighters Briefing Pack
Spectre_USA replied to allenjb42's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Well, shoot. I have forgotten all about this foible, as I have been in 1st Eagles mode for a bit. Went to try a spin in the new and glowingly reported Su-27, and inadvertantly clicked on briefing. Black screen. Dangit! Grabbed this rascal, and fear the briefing screen no more! Cheers! -

Ooo, yeah! The Wobbly Goblin! I don't reckon I've flown that beast since MicroProse's iteration on the Amiga. Or was there a 3rd party one for Jane's USNF? Either way, it's been a while, and this one is lookin' mighty fine Fubar... -

Man! Tore that Ruski Airbase a new one, looks like! Warsaw Pact interior heating, indeed. Sorry `bout that FOD'd out engine. Looks like you found that missing speed-handle for me... -
Helluva a game, Colts. As a 40+ year Patriots fan, I was throwing my hat to the geound on the INT during that last minute drive. I think Peyton and Company deserve this win as it was; A> Hard fought B> A long time coming. The Pats have punked them out a few times in the playoffs. Manning is a good guy, and I hope he and the team tear up the Bears. Great job gents...

Cheers, gents! Had a great day, maybe a little too much to drink, but a little hair of the dog will fix that. And you're right, most dirt ain't this old... ___EDIT___ <<-- Ooo, lookie, I'm a junior, senior member! LOL! Oh, and GO PATRIOTS!
