I do hope the goofball reference is to the original poster, as that is where I got the VoW reference. Just being paranoid... -

Spectre_USA replied to rebel ryder's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
It's a loading screen, why no thumbnail? I tried to see it, got "does not appear to be a valid zip file". Besides, what is VoW, anywho? -

Korean War Mod Update
Spectre_USA replied to Edward's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I am digging this map quite a bit. Have flown singles on it a bit lately, but would love to see a modern campaign created. I would give it a go, by basing it on the 50's era and updating, but cannot get the campaign editor working since SP4+. I have quickly dabbled in notepad, but usually blow it somewhere and it CTD's. Anyone else have any luck? -

A-10 "Desert"
Spectre_USA replied to Deadhead's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I have looked through the 8 or so skins you have listed here, but see none with any explanation of how to choose which of the 4 camo schemes will be used. Would you please elaborate here? -
Dynamic Campaign Editor >v1.05?
Spectre_USA replied to atoll1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Notepad, unfortuantely. I discovered that the DCE was incompatible very shortly after install. `Twas a bummer, be sure. I have since did some digging and was able to accomplish simple items, like aircraft replacement. I have an F-16A_10 running in the `79 WoE, for example. Anything more complex, and I'll probably blow it up. I'm good at fuggering up campaigns by editing. Do a search through USAFMTL's excellent knowledge base on these fantastic CA forums. They can help a bunch, though and update to DCE whould rock large! -

Two Question
Spectre_USA replied to fongman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi Fong, Pun intended. 1> You need to use GBU's on the primary target, as it is the only item illuminated with a, presumably, ground aimed laser. 2> No. A little more on the laser designation. With a bunch of editing, it is possible to carry one and self-illuminate, or even do one for a wingman, in theory. I have not done so myself, but have heard rumors that it can be... -
Enhanced Red Lightning '79 Campaign
Spectre_USA replied to MKSheppard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
It looks like you have the same issue I have, no tail letters on the 388th out of Hill. I have tried other skins on this jet, but the right side tail mapping is messed up. The left looks OK, but the HL doesn't show on the stock skin. If I knew squat from decals, I;d try to fix it... -
Weather in campaign mode
Spectre_USA replied to s_magic's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Are you flying WoE or an earlier sim? I have varied weather all the time in the 3 campaigns I've finished thus far... -
F-111 Package Wanted !
Spectre_USA replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The creator of the F-111 `pit did not want it included, he wanted a seperate download. The link is in the readme, and very nicely done. -

Cool. I mayt have to get this one, as I added the "A" model Falcon as well. It rocks in the WoE ToO... -
MER only 5 Mk82s?
Spectre_USA replied to boog2006's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It is accurate on the F-4. When the jet rotates, there is a danger of the aft centerline Mk.82 actually dragging. This can easily result in a `bad thing' in real life. Back in the day, we did not load that last bomb... -

JAS 39C Gripen Progress
Spectre_USA replied to Gux's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Oooo, yeah, a DWS 39 Mjölner glide area denial delivery system. Slick! The old Tornado JP-223 with wings of it's own! Now all we need is a Typhoon, as it will carry it as well, and maybe a Raptor, for weapons testing, of course. Very ambitious projects, the best of luck with them... -

F-111 help
Spectre_USA replied to Dasas's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
An F-111 with a gun? It's not a dogfighter. The AIM-9's are for self defense only. We experimented with a "D" model bay gun IRL, but it was scrapped at our test squadron. It never made it into the field. As to the weapons pack, read the readme.txt, it explains how it should be installed correctly... -
F-16 Alternative Camoflage scheme
Spectre_USA replied to MigBuster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I found that out yesterday, as I added F-16A_10's to the WoE campaign. Something is odd with the right side of the tail-art/numbering. I may have to cheat and change dates for the "C", as there are few "A" model block 10 skins out there... -

Enhanced Red Lightning '79 Campaign
Spectre_USA replied to MKSheppard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I saw a bunch of Luftwaffe F-104's when I was TDY to Leipheim and Sembach in Germany. Looked sort of like this; Small F-104 pic And I concur on the F-111F's in `79 out of RAF Lakenheath. Upper Heyford had F's and E's... -
JAS 39C Gripen Progress

Looks Sierra Hotel to these lack of new airframe eyes! Was the Gripen used in any military actions at all? Seems like an exceedingly capable jet! -
totaly lost.....almost:)
Spectre_USA replied to heartagram's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you are talking about add-on terrains and campaigns, then slap them right in the same folder structure as WoV and SF:P1. That's the beauty of it. WoE is newer, so most of the stuff out says WoV... -
totaly lost.....almost:)
Spectre_USA replied to heartagram's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
To merge them, all you have to do is have WoV installed, then WoE will ask if you want to merge them. Say yes, and it will automatically copy over the required files to be able to fly in either area. Got to the Thirdwire.com site for all the latest patches. As to add-on terrains, et. al., the super smart folks that make them also include a readme on how to install. Have fun!!!
