made a B-58 Hustler - how to make the ini?
Spectre_USA replied to bitwurst's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The B-58 Hustler. One of my favorite all-time jets. It just plain looks dead sexy. Can't wait to fly this bad-boy... -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment
Spectre_USA posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
I've been putzing around with a nice campaign MK2 and I were working on a ways back, and decided to add some more of the nice, new jets released for my active-duty era, `Nam `84. Adding the Jaguar and Tornado, so far, has gone well. It's just the VC's choice in defenses that I find very strange. I won't get specific, as I would like to hear if any one else has seen this... -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment
Spectre_USA replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
I only thought the fix would be good for newly created campaigns, but the change is immediate. I just flew in an existing campaign, the Jaguar in `Nam `84, and the Fan Songs, AAA and all were there. Have fun on your nuke run... -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment

You're the one who found the answer, post away! :) As to whether the general populace will care, that is another matter. At some point in time or other, I am sure they will... -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment

Good find. I may have to look through the other ground objects and see what's up. The Shilka's must have a really good date in the future... -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment

Yuppers, same-same. Kinda sux0rs when you really dig the modern stuff, F-111F, Jag, etc. I'm not sure when the transition of oddity takes place, and more importantly, why? -
Desert Jags
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
That winter one will be cool in the DBS environment. Just happens to be an exchange squadron there when the stuff hits the fan, kind of thing. The IRL shots of that skin at SimHQ are just killer. I'll just wait patiently for the upload... -

>Slobber, drool< I mean, where can I find these lubberly buggers, mate? Would like to plug `em in to a Desert campaign I want to fire up in WoV over the wekend, and vacation next week! -
WoV add-on campaigns in SP2 environment

The truth shall set you free! (Sorry, just saw Jim Carrey in "Liar, Liar" last night.) But yeah, that is my other symptom. All ZSU-23-4's, all the time. Nothing else. It's pure evil below 5,000" anywhere near Hanoi. I actually posted on SimHQ my exploits of uninstalling after backing up my directory to DVD. No help, unfortunately. Something in the new code, when involving non-stock campaigns seems to make this happen, which is a real bummer. I'm sure it's not something TK can look at. I am thinking of grabbing my Deset terrain from SF:P1, and the campaign and stuffing it into my WoV build to see what happens... -

Ah, now we have it. Yes, that is one symptom. Any other peculiarities? With, say, AAA? ___EDIT___ I will not be monkeying around with dates until after I complete at least one campaign in the newest patch. (SP2.0). It worked in Beta, but just want to make sure. -
F-14 IAF where???

Agreed RockHPI, the search function hereabouts could use a little tweaking... -

Instalation problems
Spectre_USA replied to OengusAnBearMor's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Nukes are not available on many aircraft. I'd look for the FB-111A "Switchblade" in the download area and give that a flight test. There are INI files that can be tweaked, but this gets a little tricky. When it comes to the carriers, the patched version number is, as Buff stated, very helpful... -
Jag is out!
Spectre_USA replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Oh, heck yeah! And what a beauty! The cockpit rocks. Flying over on the game system, shake-down flight. So far, very nice! -
Nice mix of real and LOMAC, Sgt_IC! Sort of reminds me of McClellan AFB, CA, where I saw quite a few jets take off from that angle...

I know there are a few other folks, like myself, who are current and prior US Military. This site was pointed out to me earlier and it just rankles the hell outta me. Forsake the troops? I mean where does this guy get off?

Holy sheep-dip! That is national pwnage of gargantuan scale! And the micro-minded mealy mouth has links to his slaughter on the page. Some people just don't get it. Did he feel he had compelling arguments for his stand-point in even a small way? I don't see how. That was actually painful to watch!

Iran Iraq War campaign preview!
Spectre_USA replied to MK2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Yuppers. Take a wander up to the file announcements heading. It and some add-on skins are the top 2 listed items currently... -
Wow! Nothing like a triple-ripple to make sure that pack went down! Big owies... :D

Ah, hell. The dirtbag is back. I thought this little charade was the end of his crap. Friggin' drama queen of gargantuan proportions. Here's hoping he has a self-prophesised departure in the near future...

Patch Feedback
Spectre_USA replied to BUFF's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Fixing the ability to complete a campaign is probably the biggest improvement. Seeing friendly and enemy airfields in a map is magnificent. Having your 3 & 4 man attack and finlly whack ground targets is the absolute cooliest. Not having to rename the desert.cat saved me enough HDD space to tuck my WoV build onto 1 DVD, which is very, very cool, IMHO. But the big mama for me is this; Yuppers, that would be a GBU-10 knocking on the door of a ColdWar era HQ building in the EAWEuro terrain. This jazzes me like no other, as I have wanted it since SF:P1 was in beta... -
Anyone else having this problem?
Spectre_USA replied to Salukipilot4590's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I see your problem, you're using that God's eye radar. Kidding, of course. You may want to think about using straight ATi drivers, as the ones Dell has may be a tad dated, as they don't keep up on them like dedicated video card makers do.
