  1. Muwuhaha! Belay my last, as I have finally seen it work, after trying since the SFP1 beta! Fired up my latest campaign mission, 10 or 12 into NF4+ in the Tomcat off of the Nimitz. For the first time, was tasked to the east, instead of south. Fighter Sweep over Peenemunde, 2 shipper. En route it looked like a milk run. An AN-12 transiting the area, and a couple of flights of MiG-23's approaching the target area, one heading south, the other not looking particularly offensive. I figured I'd give my wingie a rip at the transport to pad his ace count. Reeled him back in as I was lining up the Floggers. He used way too many missiles on that trash hauler, but we were looking good. After dispatching the Soviet Swing-wingers, was heading over to waypoint 5 for the cruise home. Rode out the newly more evil flak, and started getting bandit calls. Took a look at the map, and it is an 8-shipper of Fishbeds scrambling! Cut my wingie loose on one, and started to dance with a few. I had wanted to get a few on the taxiway with guns, but kept getting harassed until I got a run on the last one. Missed by THAT much! Things started getting really chippy, and I was down to just one Phoenix. I had bagged 2 of the -21's and my late wingman, he died pretty quickly, got 2. So there were 5 still left. It looks like they got my number, and the missles were flying in. In AB, in the weeds, out of altitude, dodging and jinking, then this thread came to me. Ba-waaa! Tab-7-1, and for the first time ever, I saw and heard the words, almost faded out below; And vector she did! Teleported, more like; A veritable clump of excellent Eagles appeared between me and my pursuers; It was an 8-shipper, with all the trimmings! A couple of more flights of MiG's had come up to watch my demise, and were suddenly on the defensive. Heck, I even flung that last AGM-54, and tagged a Fishbed, they were so flustered. After that ambush, and the saving of my bacon by the Camp New Amsterdam based Calvary, I didn't figure there was any way I could get this shot, for the elevator ride back home. But, thanks to this EXTREMELY long awaited addition, I was able to.

A collection of pics taken during the first mission I've flown that actually got a POSITIVE response from Red Crown.

  13. I concur on the conditions thing. I attempted a call-up in each of my last 3 missions, with the first conditions met, but the tasking and loadout was for Tomcats, and we got the "you're screwed" reply. Maybe I'll fire up a mud-moving campaign in the near future, just to finally experience an AWACS assist...
  14. The attention to detail, even compared to the last excellent offering of the Typhoon, still slays me. You do excellent work, Mr. BongoDriver, sir!
  15. Are you flapping kidding me? I hadn't tried it in, I dunno, YEARS! Gotta sweep mission fired up over on the KVM connected game system. Will have to give it a go. If it does work, it will rock, roll and RULE!
  16. There are plentiful S-300's about. They are a great cause for concern, especially if you are stationed on an aircraft carrier and have to cross broad expanses to rough up the Eastern block buggers. The rest of their slimy stuff will keep things interesting as well...
  17. Wonderful package. Just took a romp on the range with an F-5F, and an F-5B as a chase plane. Nice light striker. Open cockpit takes a little getting used to, but looks good. Lovin' the Navy green splinter skin...
  18. This rocks, rolls and r00ls! A perfect scenario for the extremely well crafted TMF Tomcat. I never would have thought to put the patrol area in the area NE of Kiel, South of Denmark. Fun campaign add-on...
  19. I remember in ODS rolling in on those bridge-layers on an armed recon, figuring it was going to be like hitting a line of Zils. Whoa, ow, were is the hidden packs of ZSU-4's? Looked all around, and found nothing. Bing, bang, boom, lead flying every which way! It took me a while to realize, as I saw my wingie augering in, that is was THOSE eveil rascals...
  20. A Luftwaffe Schnell-cat? Thaz pretty cool, actually...
  21. Err, right click -> copy, go to external drive, right click -> paste, maybe?
  22. That is where I "borrowed" mine from. Doesn't quite fit, but better'n a blank...
  23. Carrier trap, or land based? I hate to admit it, but on my 4 missions of campaign, and range shakedown, I only ever landed on a runway. Just wanted to get a good feel before a hair-raising carrier qual...
  24. Dangit! So close to a full-blown clowning. Oh, well, I guess I'll bide my time, as I've no idea how one goes. And, just to stay on topic, already completed a campaign, 4 missions o'er Israel. We wiped `em out so fast with the `Cat, they called a draw before we even got warmed up. Now I gotta get it into a Euro campaign, but I gotta figure out a carrier path or summat...
  25. I can't wait to see the USAF version Spinners creates. I keed, I kid. This is a wondrous beast! Took it up on the (old) range for a shakedown, then quickly cobbled it into a campaign. A real treat, and very nicely done! Many thanks to the very talented Mirage Factory crew...
