I've whipped up a couple goofy little traing missions, but I'd like to see some properly triggered type missions for CA.
That would rock!
F10 options to call in CAS, the works!
One can dream, yeah?

Did this puppy die on the vine?
I posted something up on it at the ED site, and it has been sitting there rotting for 6 days.
I did find the metal2Mesh site and the last entry there was about severing IRIS alliances.
I need me a MudHen bad, man...
-
Now this has potential.
Many thanks, HoweFries!

Can't test this rascal out for another 10 hours, but I shipped it home for after work, and can't wait!
I'll have to get some screenies and post some gloat shots for a Canuckistanian friend of mine.
I'd anticipate him being in the 3rd wire fols by the weekend!
From what I can see in the ZIP, it looks to be another high quality job by a dedicated individual.
Many thanks for the long hours spent on a highly anticipated project, FastCargo...

Looks like it's time that I give a shot at making a USAF version.
It is what if, yeah? :)
I wouldn't even give it a shot without this template.
Many thanks, Big-J!

That debate may go on forever, but from a pure numbers perspective, the Aardvark may have had a slight edge;
The F-111B versus the F-14A, One More Time.
The one big advantage I can see is the mud-moving capability from the get-go.
The "Bombcat" was not realized until Operation Desert Storm, as the poor little kitty drivers felt left out, and the 111's were racking up armor
via their patented "tank plinking" methods...
:D

Boy, did I pick the right time to get back into the SF2 scene or what?
As one of the folks about who has actually climbed on one of the few actual "B" models made, I am stoked!
Unfortunately I just started the download as I am dashing off to a 10 hour night shift, so will have to check it tomorrow.
Many thanks for the hard work, Wrench-man, this is gonna be a hoot!

Good and cheap?
Sorry, you can only choose one of the above.
My suggestion?

Venezuelan beaver cheese.
This was a tough one to explain to the 3 woman yakking outside my cube when I burst out laughing.
A quick minimization was the only alternative...

Is it a bad thing that my mind's eye started glazing over about half-way through the thread?
I am starting to feel much better with my ceasing 3D operations back when I was a neophyte.
Yikes!

The disappearing carriers have been a bug for years.
If they are not withing the players "bubble" they don't exist, so aircraft taking off start in a clump on the water.
All in the name of saving frames, I imagine...
-
Ha!
With Viper's post, we've gone full circle in this thread.
All in only 28 pages...

Lost another one due to "crashed" leaving me with 2 of the original jets I started with, 1 I bought, and the fourth was a
big dollar Eagle that just disappeared from inventory, Whee!
No wonder this is the first, and probably last, Merc campaign in the 10 years I've been flying this series...
:(

I mentioned it in another thread a bit ago, and was able to actually see it transpire with the F6 view.
I noticed the debriefs would just say "crashed" and the one time we were egressing the target area, out of harm's way, and I
just focused on my wingie, I never take more than one, as it risks too many otherwise, and he just detonated.
No other jets, no SAM reached out, just >boom< and he flamed all the way to auger point...

Just climbed down, or actually crashed to desktop, from DCS:Warthog.
This is looking mighty fine!
And yes, the rounds counter is part of the DSMS page, which is on the the left MFD by default, but can be on either one via
a bit of switchology.
I miss the old SSP from the A-10A, but I am an old ex-warthog armorer...
-
Out-flipping-standing!
I am so appreciative of you folks with talent.
Veltro and Wrench team up to produce this excellent flying art! VW has a ring to it, yeah?
Many thanks for the hard work, Kevin, they seriously put my feeble attempts to shame...
-
Now that there is a beautiful looking Tiger Shark!
I am in the process of creating a Nellis jet, but it prolly won't be as nice.
TailFinFlash's drive me bug-sh1t...
-
`Burner sounds like a likely culprit.
They do tend to put the pedal to the metal when you ask them to rejoin.
Lost another one earlier, then went an entire flight without a loss, woo-hoo!
Might look into that AB thing a bit.

In this instance, he had nothing else to fire, nor was he near anything to fire on.
Just driving along, dutifully returning to formation when, >pop< goes the Falcon...
-
Man, you do some outstanding work Spinners!
-
This looks mighty fine!
As a former frequent visitor to the LOLA area on the other side in the late 80's, early 90's, I gotta say, looking good.
I reckon the range is out in the vicinity of Indian Springs, now Creech, which would be a tad close for aggressors.
Long drive, however, in mid-summer in a GOV with no A/C...
-
Makes the Warthog look downright glamorous!
Yikes!
Not just double-ugly, but ugly squared...

So, as previously mentioned, I am just getting back into the world of SF2 after a few months off.
I have recently installed a merged copy with all the bells and whistles to allow a fresh start.
I only installed one after-market aircraft, the excellent A-16, so I could test out this new-
fangled add a jet to any campaign DLC dealio.
During the years since I originally acquainted myself with this title, I was only the beta test
team for SF:P1, I never fired up a mercenary flight for campaign duties.
This also changed, as I always dreamed of a mixed flight of jets in campaign, and this now
seemed the way to get it done.
I actually added a 2nd jet this afternoon, was allowed to buy the F-20 TigerShark, and flew
a mixed flight strike 2-shipper.
So satisfying.
But, after hitting the target, and letting the emergency defenders whittle down the defenders,
I took a look around externally. I hit F6 a second time to see my wingman, in the different
airframe, and grinned at the coolness factor.
The grin was short-lived, as was my wingman, as out of the blue, at about 2500 feet, he just
detonated in mid-air!
I had taken to running solos on the last half-dozen missions, as I was losing too many wingies
to "crashes," and sure enough, that is what the debrief said about this guy.
No SAM, no MiG, just >POP!<
Is this a usual event for Mercenary squadrons? We have to inspect jets for IED's before we
hit the sky?
Fluke?
Has anyone else ever seen the like?
-
J-yes, that looks mucho betterio.
As to the year tag, I would NEVER change years of an aircraft, no sir!
Not even to fly it in, say, 1979 over Europe or summat.
I have been STRONGLY counseled on many occasions not to do this!
I was going to try an F-5B, but it only has 4 entries in the DECALS.INI.
There are a few other fix-ups needing doing, `specially in the cockpit, I have just forgotten
a lot during my Summer hiatus.
It might be a bit before I am back up to speed...

This looks like a cool collection.
Ever thought about some "retro" stuff?
I realize that the 81st TFW did not fly the Charlie model, we were the biggest wing in the USAF back in the day.
Any hope of adding the 78th, 91st, 92nd, 509, 510th, or the 511th TFS?
They have a whole slew of variants here -> http://www.usafepatches.com/site3/81tfw.htm
Shoot, if I have the time, I may just do so myself, with your fine addition as a guide...
