The FE guys are just hungry for something to sink their teeth into. See my thread on the Lewis Gun. Models of just about every aircraft in WWI came out in the first few months, so now it's a dry spell. Not a whole lot of different weapons in that era to model, either. I wish more skins were being done. I suck at painting on the computer (bad eye-to-mouse coordination), but I'm a great cut 'n paster. That's why I love TK's sims. I wish the AI could fly formations in FE. I modded so many AircraftObject files and AIData that I couldn't remember what I had done in each. Finally had to go back to WOV and drop some MK82's. Also found some things to mod in WOV that I hadn't done before. That's why I keep coming back. IL2 is too rigid. In TK's sims, if I don't like it, I can change it (almost). I've got SF:P1, WOV, KAW, WOE, and FE and I've been lurking around since 2003. -
I downloaded this lewis gun model before FE came out and now I can't remember the web page and it doesn't have a Readme file. The download came with both a single and double lewis gun arrangement. Does anyone recognize this model so the author can be given credit?

Christian, Figured it out. Monty CZ posted the lewis.rar file on his March 4, 2007 response to the N24 discussion. I used Whiteknight and your 17a and 17b fixes on the download page and swapped out the model name from M-60 to lewis1. Monty said he got it to fire but not reload, but with these fixes it does both. Here's a picture of your two gun fix with the Monty lewis model.

Christian, No, the machine gun model in the Nieuport 17 wing-gun download from CombatACE is an M-60. Here's another screenshot showng the detail of the Lewis gun including the fluted drum-magazine, Foster-mount, and the wood textured handles. I would like to put it up here for download but I can't remember where I got it so that I can get permission from the author to use it.

Possible to open the F105 canopy?

Well, I got the F-8E canopy to open using Capun's method without an Animation number, but its hinged at the pilot's shoulder instead of the canopy hinges. Is this something that has to be changed in the model? -

Tried Easykill's method on the stock WOV F-8E and A-6A. Couldn't get the canopies to open so I tried different Animation numbers and got the wings to fold on both. -

I changed the MER LengthLimit to 2.24 and did the third method on the SUU-30 changes and I'm finding that the loadout.ini overrides the changes. I can still get six CBU-24's on a MER if that is what I have specified in the loadout. If I try to add six CBU's in the loadout screen it limits me to three. -

I've got KAW install in a separate WOV install. Couldn't get the KAW menu screen to work as the buttons were in the wrong place. The Korea 1950-1953 menu screen works fine within WOV. -
2 different bombs using same LOD file

Yeah, that's the one. Anyone got any models to fix this? How about CFS2's excellent bomb packages? Can they be converted? -
I put the 500lb M64 and 1000lb M65 side-by-side on the Skyraider and it appears that they use the same 3D model (although they have separate LODs in the Weapons Pack). Can someone confirm this or do I have a corrupt install?

My patched FE has rudder settings like these in the aircraftobject.ini file. Also, what about the spaces on either side of the "=" sign? I haven't found any discussion on this subject so I'm assuming I've got bad patch. I downloaded the patch again, and re-installed and patched but got the same results. Should I just delete the spaces, f, and semi-colon?

Correct it by deleting the f; and extra spaces on either side of "=" sign and save (as the aircraftobject.ini file). I still haven't seen much movement of the rudder by the AI, but I'm trying to find a fix to the formation antics and haven't watchrd the dogfights that close.

How to take off from carrier in Single Mission?

If you don't want to script a mission from scratch, you could go into the Missions directory and change the aircraft type in one of the existing scripted missions.
