  1. Question: Why is it...?

Fraid that horse has already left the barn. I think I can speak for all of my colleagues on that one. Just noggins full of mush is about all that's left
  2. What Does Your Cockpit Look Like?

Yeah, it's all Great War stuff - well, nearly all. And it's a work in progress - there's always the next book I just have to have. Actually, I know there are several librairies in our little community that outstrip mine, and that I would just love to sit in for a few days, or weeks. Cheers, shredward

  7. Awards system

Yep, Paarma has really put a huge effort, and months worth of work into this. He had a vision, and though we knew what he was up to, and seen bits and pieces of it, seeing them as they will be awarded has been astonishing. They really are quite beautiful. Bravo Paarma!
  8. Reason for screen name....

Shredward is the formal appellation. It's a ski thing. Informally, I'm Ted Shred, or the Shredder, or Shred for short.

  18. D.2370 was a DIII flown by Vzfw Joseph Kettel. That serial is pretty close to the two that we can see in the photo, so I'm fairly confident that is a Ja 50 lineup. The pattern and number of the diagonals on the horizontal stab were what suggested to me the unit. Cheers, shredward
  19. Yeah, that's what I was looking at as well. I'm going to see if I can match any of the serial numbers. Cheers, shredward
  20. I've never seen this photo, but my guess is Jasta 50. I'll look into it. Cheers, the shredder
  21. Hi Guys, I moved Pips post to the Archives, and copied it into Markl's post, but yep, these historical gems are courtesy of Pips. Just wanted to clear that up! Cheers, shredward
  22. Yeah, the souped up Spud 7 was used right to the end of the war, and favoured by many pilots because it was more manoeurable. With any luck, and many hours on Pol's part, we can get some more upengined machines. But again, like always, it's a question of so much to do, and not enough hands or hours in the day. Cheers, shredward
  23. Update Status - a wee roadmap

So you were at the Shuttleworth! Lucky bugger Cheers, shredward
  24. Update Status - a wee roadmap

Well, I'm certain we can identify the cockpit, but I won't give it away. But, I had heard rumours that there was one on the Island - please do tell us more when one of your listeners reveals the identity. It would be too cool if this photo was taken at Nanaimo airport, named for one of the Island's most famous sons. Cheers, shredward
