  2. Karel is the man who inspired me to realise that anything was possible, if you just tried it. I, and the community, will always be in his debt. Ted

  6. OT- Artwork of Harry Dempsey

Hi Jim, Do you know the proprietor of the Ja 18 Alb ? There is a photo of a DVII belonging to Hans Muller in GvW's Jasta 18 book, but the diagonals slope the other way. Cheers, shredward

  9. WW1 Armor

I remember those tanks at Camp Borden well. Some of them you could squeeze into from underneath (if you were 15 and skinny, and those days are now many decades in the past) I think most, if not all of those treasures are now in the War Museum in Ottawa Cheers the shredder
  10. is gone. What a huge loss. That was a tremendous archive and source of material :mega_shok:
  11. WOFF: Sopwith Triplane pics

  12. P4 will reflect that Cheers, the shredder
  13. Albatros fuselage artwork

You'll find it in your skins folder. Cheers, shredward
  14. Horrah!

Wing HQ may have moved down the road, but this is still the Mess, and where I will be spending most of my time when not flying Over Flanders Fields (actually, when I'm not writing bloody datafiles for WOFF) Cheers, shredward
  15. I take it from that that those are skins which will be coming soon(ish) to a screen near you. I believe our latest eta is the standard two weeks Cheers Shredward
  16. Nope. It may be that the Tros skins in my folder are post P3 release. - I don't have separate installs for P3 and development Cheers Shredward
  17. My skins folder shows DV or DVa skins for Rudolf Wendelmuth, Walter Gottsch,Hans Korner, Konrad Mettlich, Rudolf Francke, Werner Junck Very curious. Cheers, shredward
  18. Michael Offensive Spring 1918

For P3, it was set up based on units operating from their historical aerodromes, and very generalised activity levels p4 will be much more closely integrated with the war on the ground That being said, the first phase of Kaiserschlacht was aimed at Amiens, with the northern flank of the push just south of Arras. The next phase, in early April, came down the Lys, through Armentières. Lens lies between those two major battlegrounds, and was relatively quiet Cheers, Shredward
  19. No apologies required - I was just having a little fun Cheers shredward
  20. Bertincourt - Then and now

And the cool thing is that this is not a one-off. You can go to almost any town in rural France, half close your eyes, and it is as if you had just stepped out of the Tardis and emerged 60, 80, or 150 years ago. Unless the town was absolutely obliterated because it happened to be in the Front Line at Verdun or the Somme, it will usually look pretty much as it did a century ago Cheers, Shredward
  21. Maybe I'm a little biased, but I think Over Flanders Fields is close to decent. And I'm not aware of an overly intrusive DRM. :wink2: shredward
  22. Ahhhh - I think you actually encountered the Sopwith Salamander Cheers Shredward
  23. One could also check out Thomas Genth' website - the source of the photos. His grandfather was one of the pilots of the EnglandGeschwader. http://www.thomasgenth.de/index.html Cheers, shredward
  24. Most raids involved ~ 20 a/c setting out, though as the campaign went on, this number went down a bit. By mid-August, KG3 was hurting, and daylight raids were abandoned after two costly raids in a row. They withdrew for a regroup and night training, and resumed operations in September, carrying out night raids, which quietly came to an end the following spring. It should be noted that they also flew tactical missions over France and Belgium at the same time. Cheers shredward
  25. That's quite a dance duo !
