Croatian air force MiG-21 replacement
Brain32 replied to Stipe's topic in Military and General Aviation
Wouldn't count on it, especially on the R-73/27. What we are aiming for is simple service life-extension project and this is what we signed with Ukrspecexport Don't forget that the deal is worth only 80 million Croatian kunas(about 14 million US $), you really can not expect wonders for that amount of money... -
Syrian helicopter shot down by Turkish jets
Brain32 replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Military and General Aviation
Confirmed, shot at by "rebels" while still in parachute, then robbed and decapitated, our dear "friends" already put out clips bragging around with his head - literally. -
Syrian helicopter shot down by Turkish jets
Brain32 replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Military and General Aviation
I love how the helicopter violated turkish air space only to fall down on Syrian side upon shotdown...if it was a fast jet I'd kinda understand but seriously how much airspace did the heli violate? 3 inches? -

AI-pack Spitfires flight dynamics?
Brain32 replied to ndicki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah Newtons are for jet engine, watts are for piston engines(that includes ground objects too btw.) Altitude is a good option too, I couldn't find the RL chart for Griffon, but I think I do have it for Merlin somewhere... As for "//" - oh yeah, saves the day many times -
AI-pack Spitfires flight dynamics?
Brain32 replied to ndicki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah it's hard to say, there's prop efficiency entry which I don't understand how it works and really messes up my understanding on how to set up engines for props... -
AI-pack Spitfires flight dynamics?
Brain32 replied to ndicki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
1 517 499,5 BHP would be waaaaay too much lol it's watts, so 1 517 499,5 W means 1517,5 kW wich in turn makes it 2035 HP which is correct ;) -
Strike Fighters 2 Performance
Brain32 replied to bucklehead101's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Mirrors and TV screen cut fps in half...it is expected that such effects would cut performance but not in half...in my tests this is the order of performance killers: 1. Mirrors 2. Mirrors 3. Mirrors 4. Shadows on high/Horizon distance -
Sim lite? How about Sim None.
Brain32 replied to Heck's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
I think it's an anomaly, don't know how well are propeller drive planes and piston engines simulated in SF2... Did you try with stock P-51 for example? -
I don't really understand it fully....but I kinda like it lol

SF2 - what has been taken away?
Brain32 replied to MigBuster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Actually I would say TW are for the most part right, the part I find too be A BIT on the side of misunderstanding is this: "We do understand that sometimes, small changes in the code may expose problems in the mods and break them. But when this happens, we feel it's up to the modders to fix their mods and update them to work with the new version of the game." Now this is also true but why then did they spent so much effort to lock things out? We WILL gladly fix the mods(because F'it, it's an addiction and we can't stop) but then give us the access man... -
M117 conical fin assembly
Brain32 replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Both are low drag options as much as I figured here's the excerpt from the text: Originally, low-drag M117s were fitted with 52-lb M131 conical fins that were 49 in(124 cm) long with a 23-in (58-cm) fin span. In the early 1970s, the 64-lb MAU-103/B conical fin was introduced, featuring strakes, a 50-in (127-cm) length, and a 19-in(48-cm) fin span. A modified version of this fin, the MAU-103A/B increased fin-span to 22 in (56 cm). The high-drag bomb, commonly known as the M117R, used the 117-lb MAU-91A/B EDIT: Now that I think of it, why not attaching the whole document :D Hope it can help...found in somewhere on the net, lost the link... Brain32 replied to JSF_Aggie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Try exporting the heightmap as bitmap and edit it in photoshop, I have no idea why that happens but that's how I used to solve those things...it made me completely f**** crazy so I know what you are going through... -

Su-9 Fishpot-B cockpit (for TW DLC model)
Brain32 replied to Stary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I tried this baby yesterday, originally I'm not too fond of planes that don't have a gun so I planned just to check it out...once I got into the cockpit I refused to play with anything else that evening! Awsome work 10/10 -
