  2. Hmm this may be nice, I have "Winds of Steel" and it's pretty cool
  3. Happy Birthday to....

    Happy birthday!
  4. Blog: But... isn't war bad?

"Break to build" is also one of the basic philosophies in sports actually. As for war, I think nations that never/for a long time didn't have war come to their country are all to easy to call for war...
  5. The F-105 in Luftwaffe costume looks awsome
  6. WiP (Work in progress) actually means it's private only until finished...
  7. That's the thing buddy, if that was the case it's highly questionable if this series would ever come anywhere near the level it's on now...
  8. Well what I'm about to say might not be to popular - BUT ...I think we pushed the guy too much lately, sure he partially asked for it but with only one thing IMO - the unreasonable locking. The game did and did not change a lot but if you look carefully we did get quite a few stuff we have been asking for ages with NA and some add-ons before NA. We got mission editor which is for me like 50% new game, we got new terrain engine, new avionics features, flyable propeller planes, Tomcat alone for some people is a religion, I mean let's face it he did a lot, we do want more but to be realistic he did a lot... I still don't agree, can't agree and will not agree with excessive and unreasonable locking because that's a big part of the game and with him locking the access to new terrain file making it unmoddable a big part of the stuff he did which I mentioned above was simply taken away...and I am still a bit pi**ed about it. Various frustration that come from RL, misunderstanding, expectations that are just too big, etc. etc. just brought us all, including TK into this silly zone of bickering and spite from both sides that are all but productive. I'm tired guys, way too tired of all this, I'll make cockpits and play a bit in my free time, if TK accepts a suggestion or two fine, if not I just hope he will not take this hobby away from me and make Strike Fighters an arcade lock-fest, low-budget HawX wannabe...
  9. It's in the download section. This is the section where you can get aircrafts for SF2: http://combatace.com/files/category/389-sf2-series-add-on-aircraft/ For the SuperHornet check out 2.2 Super Hornet Update, it's on the 1st page. Cockpit is not fully finished yet, but I hope to get around and finish it soon...
  10. Wow just what I needed, thx a lot buddy
  11. I suspect the master parent mesh is being moved to position in which the game view point is centered on the second pit.
  12. Denver Shooting

Atleast in the USA he will pay for it, here in Europe he would get two weeks in Spa and 6 months obligation of attending "killers anonymous" meetings...
  13. Well if DCS will include in the future full support for ground operations like Il-2 guys promised then it might be ok, this model is still IMO a bit too detailed but I generally like that idea...
  14. Ahh gauges, needles I mixed the two up yesterday, was under meds due to dentist action...
  15. Ofcourse I was exaggerating a bit but seriously the most I spent on a PC was about 1000$ and I don't plan and currently can't imagine spending that much money on PC, heck best paycheck I ever had was slightly above 1000$ and those were the good times back in 2008... Sure but some balance needs to be find, I honestly see no point in having every screw below the ramp of an SA-2 modeled in thousands of polys as something reasonable, that's 3D art for HD renders, possibly movie production etc. but still not for games IMO. Absolutely, I agree that more detailed and complex environment can make you feel more "in the game", but like I said, I still think it has to be reasonable... Anyway I'm under impression you guys viewed my comment as a jab on DCS, this is not so, I just don't see myself jumping on that bandwagon yet...
  16. Sure looks nice but...with that amount of polys I'd need a 5000$ PC to run it at even at low fps, probably number one reason why I just can't see myself in the DCS - yet. Also what is the use of such detailed objects in regards to todays computers, those models will be specks for a player blowing by at 900-1000kmh if not more...the only way to notice that details on objects like that would be to pull some kind of external view on it... I mean check the SA-2 launcher, with a good texture and some smart bump you could pull out details that would be more than enough for a flight sim, some of theese objects are IMO too much even for a Helicopter sim and are actually more fitting for first person shooters. Don't get me wrong I love the fact something like this exists and it does look EPIC, it's just not for me YET, maybe in like 2015 or something...
  17. You can see that in the cockpit.ini
  18. It's funny because guys jumped the gun and thought your 100% with aim-9G was due to a change in July patch that started a huge round of b1tchin' threads all over the place...
  19. That was priceless Guys don't you think we jumped on TK a bit too hard? You know my stance and all but let's be a bit realistic here... **** @ShrikeHawk good call I also try to keep my winders within textbook parameters but sometimes I just fire them out carelessly just to get the opportunity to use the gun
  20. You guys are jumping the gun faster than UN council on an Arab dictator... I'm on July patch and even my 9x/IRIS-T/Python5 etc don't have 100% even if I fire them within the parameters, silly angles and ridiculous out of parameter shots have 100% - of FAIL rate... Against flare equipped aircrafts even perfect dead 6 shots with advance IR missiles are fingers crossed for a hit...
  21. Or never finish it. One thing that worries me about DCS stuff is that complexity can be utterly de-motivational, even for payware stuff. The more complex all that is you need to have a bigger team work much longer and harder etc. Freeware stuff will probably deliver little to none what-so-ever (if that possibility is even planned for DCS) payware stuff will be a long development with possible drop-outs...and afterall it's payware...for every single plane...a bit too much if you ask me. TW games allow a single enthusiast shelling out a quality mod in very reasonable time and without too much difficulties, team up with a buddy or two and it's even easier, judging by what I've heard about DCS stuff, there's no way in the world you can do that... However, TW again unnecessarily complicates some stuff with tedious methods, lack of support(for modders) and overall a simplicity that is somewhat and in some cases quite limiting...
  22. Yeah that was great
