I suspect terrains will not be LOD files but rather split into several files of it's own with elevation data, texture data, water etc...we will see but I don't think it will be a lod like planes and objects, that would be strange and I suspect a huge performance hog... -

Doubt it, I don't think terrain creation will be that easy. I mean if you look at current DLC's there's little to none 3D work involved into it, re-doing the terrain would basically mean making it from scratch and as such, the DLC would be pricey... I don't think that fits TK's strategy... NVM though, we will do it -

I have the same problem I know I solved it before but I can't remember how now. If nobody relieves us before I'll let you know as soon as I re-remember it lol -

I'm willing to bet 18 000 trillions of Wall Street dollars(basically I'll just make it out of thin air) we will see cockpit shots hours before release... No pit shots - no release, I dare, no I double dare TK to prove me wrong! -
Well Fubar seems that was a good guess :)

Rafale wins Indian MMRCA contract

Gripen is IMO most suitable for smaller countries, it's cheap, can take off from my backyard(which is really small), easy to maintain and service and still very modern and capable... -

Not a particularly good one, most track recorders are actually built around mission logging so really logging game events into a file that can be read and executed by the game later...does not sound and really is not like nuclear physics lol. I think TK having such a small team/coding alone is a way, way better and more reasonable explanation... -

We used the track system in il-2 quite extensively usually for "flight school" purposes, you know stuff like how to beat a spitfire with a fw-190 and stuff like that but also for some bragging when somebody would do something pretty neat. But then again we also had multiplayer so it perhaps made more sense, other than multiplayer stuff it was more like hey who can fight 4,8 or whatever number of ace AI planes or who can kill 4 tanks with a single bomb, crazy stuff, it was kinda fun I must say... FRAPS is a bit of a FPS hog and the file takes a lot of space with il2 trk/ntrk system you could make a one hour track that would take up a few hundred KB's... -

He needs to release it soon, our next topic will be about what will be in the image that depicts SF2:NA in his online store, and after that...we will go bananas -
I know "our" Chinese were having a big celebration here, nice fireworks yesterday :) Happy New Year!

I think they are just pulling money from it. It's obviously easier to model a WW2 fighter than a more modern jet. Especially in cockpit department(no electronics whatsoever), but also in flight modeling, weapon system, well...everything. But yeah it makes no sense useability-wise

Aaaaaaaaaand which completely SF2NA release unrelated TK's sentence will we interpret as an imminent release THIS weekend? -
Who says I am? You brought up justification of downloading of stuff with an out of reach pricetag... Since metal is my thing actually and I have friends from two failed metal bands, I can tell you, they didn't fail because of free downloading, actually they were giving away free singles as a way of promotion. Selling it would lead nowhere... Also a lot of it has to do with popularity of certain music in a certain environment too... I understand it's bad, but just because some kid downloads an MP3 format song of your band does not mean you guys are on the loss, if anything if he likes it, he will tell his friends same as you do when you hear a new and exciting band so once you pull out an album he(and his friends) is more likely to buy it than it would be the case had he never heard of you, also he may go to your concert and bring his friends... Sure you might be loosing some revenue by that but that's also practically the only way you can market yourself with no cost whatsoever...
