Anyone notice if the decals no longer show on their Mark IV British tank in FE2? Are GroundObject decals another omition from FE2?

Sopwith "Pup" Naval 3 skin with flight decals
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Here is a sopwith pup skin from Naval 3 I've been working on for a long time now. I finally got around to finishing up. It's one skin folder that uses decals to create the different flights. Blue "A Flight", Red "B Flight", and Black " C Flight". I tried addeding as much detail as I could to the main skin. I also did skins for the known schemes of Naval 3 like "HAPPY", "MILDRED", "BETTY", and so on. Also did some for No.66, No.46, and No.54 Squadrons of the RFC. Did the same for them all using decals for flight colors. Here are some pics of what I have so far of the generic Naval 3: -

Sopwith "Pup" Naval 3 skin with flight decals
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Ok they're up in the download section. The skins are ok but the extras might be a bit tricky for some of the newer people. Just ask if you cant get them to work. It gets harder and harder to upload simple skin downloads for you guys. My data files and aircraft files are so modified its hard to make a simple download. My decals coincide with the formations.ini and the nations.ini coincide with the formations.ini etc, etc. Getting kind of confusing. But any way, the Naval 3 pups are done. Much more to come. -

Sopwith "Pup" Naval 3 skin with flight decals
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I couldnt get all the "Known" skins to be incorporated into the decaling such as "Betty", "Mildred", "Baby Mine" etc, etc. But all three flight colors of Naval 3 will appear in groups of 5 and I did all new serial numbers with a numbers list file so you can select how you would like to arrange your flight in single missions. For campaigns the main skin "Naval 3" will always show flight colors in groups of 5 too. I just need to finish up a few details then I will post the Generic Naval 3 skin along with all the "Known" named aircraft as separate skin folders which you would be able to throw in in any single mission or campaign as "KnownAce" So give me a couple of days yet guys. BTW I couldnt do much w the cockpit skinning because it's missing some texture.bmps so I basically left it alone. -
Moving a mesh via DATA.ini
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hello everyone, Is it possible to move a mesh's X,Y,Z coordinates in an aircrafts' DATA.INI just like its possible in a Cockpit.INI when moving guages or gun components? I know how to remove components or meshes but can they be moved around? -

Moving a mesh via DATA.ini
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Sorry guys, I didnt mean "move" as in an aileron, rudder, or shock animation for wheels. I meant to move a mesh to another location entirely. Cockpit guages and other cockpit components can be moved to different coordinates in the Cockpit.INI. I was wondering if, for instance, can a vertical stabilizer be moved forward or backwards? Can wing struts be moved in or out? (just examples). -
You know where I stand

Just had to do a System Restore on my PC! Argh!

Well bye bye to all my DATA.INI's , TextureSets, Decal.INI, Config .INI's, Loadouts.INI's, Cockpit.INI that I have been working on for the last two weeks!!!!!!. I've been working on all of Jan Tuma's Oef D.III's since he released them. Multiple Skins work, Decal work and DATA.INI work. I copied the main aircraft folder and renamed each one for each Flik that I'm making skins for. So there was a lot of Decal.INI's and TextureSet.INI that were lost. And every aircraft folder I created lost all there.INI's aswell. I want to pull my hair out!!!. Also I have been reading a few books on Austro-Hungarian aces and Italian Aces. I find all the Pilots names that I can and the aircraft they flew and add them to my campaign Data.ini. Ive added a couple dozen aces and other pilots over the last couple of weeks. A bunch of two seater crews and bomber crews as well......ALL GONE! On the bright side all my Skin work was saved. What a stupid set back for sure. When will I learn! So here is only one left flyable for now. Been adding as much detail as I can. Rigging, hinges, weathering, bolts, the pipe on the port side cockpit, etc etc. Oh, and the picture in the cockpit if you can see it. -

Thanks guys. But I just need to copy and paste a bunch of Text files and rename them. Not too bad but time consuming. I'm just glad all my skin work wasnt touched. So many layers to each one. It would have been bad to lose those. Lots of work. Thanks Stephen. -
Albatros D.III Oeffag Ba.53/153/253
quack74 replied to Jan Tuma's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
A tricky one -
I knew the Italians were up to something. A base on the moon perhaps? This was the first time I ever saw this. It was during a campaign. I was scrolling through all the aircraft flying in this mission and came across this high level recon Caproni. I never saw it but the view kept going higher and higher and wouldnt stop. Pretty weird and funny at the same time. Very strange glitch. Thought I would share this one. Also notice how fast. Not too bad for a Caproni. Who said they were slow easy targets?

I just realized no Bump maps for the D.IIIOef's!! Arg! Jan did all the new .LOD's with FEG. Also all the damage models (exposed ribs and spars) are all black too. No textures for the damage model.I've been trying to convert all my stock D.III (fake Oef) to the new "Rounded Nose" versions that Jan Tuma made. Every skin needs several changes and so does the .INI files. Going to take some time. But I just realized I lost the bump mapping. That was the whole reason I switched to the stock D.III rather than the Skunworks D.IIIOef. Oh well. Also the only why I could remove the external guns in cockpit view I had to remove Jans' new guns completely from the Mesh and keep the Schwarzlose guns I added to the nose via the "Loadout.INI" and added "Weapon Stations" in the DATA.INI. This one sure is a doozy! But nice planes regardless. -
They do work though. As long as a base is set for the seaplanes in campaign mode. The bases will have to be made and added to the terrains' Targets.INI. I could do that for everyone and just put it in the DL section. I bit time consuming but well worth it. I'll scatter some ships around too.
-
Take your time. There are bound to be snaggs everywhere. But it's looking beautiful so far. The high snowy peaks look amazing. There were many battles in the mountains too. So some trenches scattered around might be a nice touch

Here are some pics of Stephen1918's Albatros W4. It does land and take-off from water. Can be a little tricky but it does work. There are no "Anti_Shipping" parameters in FE so everything "shipping" would have to be placed manually. I tried creating an airfield on the coastline in Flanders. I seems to be working. But only for campaign mode. I set only the W4 to use this airfield. In Single Missions though anything will appear and try to take-off. It does work either way. So it will be a great addition to the game. Just need to create shipping ports and ship convoys out at sea. Static ofcourse. Will be great for the Italian campaign!
-
Ask Stephen1918 about those seaplanes. He might surprise us. You never know what he will come up with! The area you are working on is the perfect location. Great work so far.

Just Awsome! Cant say much more than that
