  1. just one of my dreams

I did the same thing a couple years ago for the Austrian Front. I use the Aviatik as an Italian S.I.A7B. I removed the exhaust manifold and added a gun to the upper wing (its a schwarzlose though). I tried to remove the fuselage radiators on the sides but one is part of the fuselage. So I tried to paint them to match the fuselage color.
  2. I could have swarn that Mue added the clone key stroke in his latest upgrade. I was using it not that long ago. I just forgot what key stroke was. I cant find it in any readme files. But it was working.
  3. Have you added your new objects to the Terrains' Types.INI? the TAE reads the stock objects from the CAT files and from the _Types.INI from the terrain you are using. For terrain building you have to add the objects directly into the terrains' folder. Make sure you add the .LOD's, .bmp's or tga's for each object. Then add the data to the terrains' Types.INI and make sure they are numbered consecutively.
  4. When placing objects in a Target Area, what was the key stroke to duplicate a selected object? can't find the readme for it.
  5. I think the stock Numbers and letters on some aircraft, especially the add-ons, only go from 000 to 015. 000 being blank (never knew why). But the game reads up to 099. So if you fly a couple of missions the game has already cycled through the 16 decals in the decals folder. After that they will not appear until the games has finished the 100 decal cycle after several missions. Every time I make decals I start at 000, create a decal for 000, and end at or around 015. Then I copy all 16 decals and rename them for the next batch Ex: 017 - 032. Continue this process till you end with 099 decals. It's a lot of work but your plane and others in your flight will always have decals.
  6. Wrench, what I did for the trains in my Verdun terrain is I made their GroundObjectRole=TRANSPORT. Of course I had to name everything else that was "TRANSPORT" to something else otherwise a truck would show up on the tracks. Next I created long straight sections of tracks using this editor then set the speed of the train to 10mph ( you want it slow). I then added waypoints in the terrains' Movement.INI under "TRUCK" and set two Route Positions, start and end. No if I fly an Armed_Recon mission there will be a moving train to target. I had to add sound and exhaust to the trains data.ini too. I actually painted all my tracks on terrain tiles. So I used the TFD tool. The tracks need to be level too. so I had to fudge with the HFD as well. Took a little time but was well worth it in the end.
  7. Has there been any discussion about a .TOD editor being introduced into this TFD editor? Hate to throw this in here if it has already been addressed. But there are a lot of threads to read through.
  8. European Ground Objects

Man I'll tell you Geezer, every time you post some new work I want to delete my targets.INI and start over. This stuff is great. As soon as I finish my Verdun terrain I want to do it all over again!
  9. Happy Holidays

Ordinance? He can drop presents over the trenches as the troops sing Silent Night
  10. I know I keep saying I will post the Verdun terrain. But I cant find the time to pack it all up. It is a big file that would require three or four separate downloads. Since I lost the main files a few months ago its been hard to finish. I need a good kick in the pants to get it done. Maybe by Christmas
  11. Slapped most of files together today. It's not 100% yet but should work just fine. I recommend a separate install just for Verdun. This way you don't have to worry about the wrong types of aircraft, vehicles, and soldiers showing up. And it's just easier to manage all files when they are all dedicated to one terrain. So if anyone out there wants a go at it ( a bunch of files to install). Zipped up of course. let me know and I'll send you a copy of what I have so far.
  12. So I was able to obtain an older version of my Verdun.TFD and Verdun.HFD from about 11/2 ago. Problem is since then I have added a few hundred locations and highly altered the terrain height field. All my train track tiles were saved so that was a huge relief. Also the Targets.INI wasn't corrupted at all so all the target areas that I have added still remain. so I had to redo all the road tiles to all the new locations. Very tedious! but not the end of the world. So I have been adding all the new roads and fixing all airfields. Flattening the train tiles were I set the Movement.INI locations. So once again I will tell everyone that I'm almost done. It's only been three freakin years in the making. I know things will be off in some places but I don't have the time to fix it all this time. I just want to post what I have and fix things by requests I guess. I hope not too many people have lost interest in this stuff because I've noticed the members that post have been thinning lately. I might just make a simple download. Not too much text files read. I just don't have the time. We'll see.
  13. "Those are not the files we are looking for"...."Move along". Thanks anyway Geezer. But those seem to be stock TFD and HFD files. I sent a few people my Verdun terrain a while back but I cant remember who tried it. The conversations in my messenger are gone (of course)
  14. Could any of you that tested my Verdun terrain last year send me the .TFD and the .HFD files? PLEASE!
  15. So my graphics card, an Nvidia GTX460, crashed last week. Don't know why but I think it kept over heating. Been hot in my house for a few weeks now. Anyway that's not the part that's making me want to throw up. The part that is making me want to throw up is the only files that are missing after my PC crashed is my Verdun.HFD and Verdun.TFD !!! Yes the ones I've been working on for the last couple of years for my custom Verdun terrain! Nothing else is missing, that I've noticed anyway. Out of all the files on my PC these are the only two affected by the great crash of 2016. And the kicker is the System Restore wont let me go back before the crash. For those of you that know about terrain building you know why I want to throw up. If you all saw the tile work I did on my Verdun terrain and Height field alterations you would want to throw up too. How the hell were those two files the only ones deleted because of a bad graphics card????? 998 TargetAera's and 213 Tiles. Bye bye. Holly Cow!
  16. Tried Recuva. So far the only .TFD and .HFD files it found were unrecoverable. Awesome ☠
  17. Squadron Decal Questions

On your N17 the decal level should be set to "DecalLevel=1" for Squadron selection I believe. Been a long time since I did decal work.
  18. Squadron Decal Questions

The N17 has to have a Squadron decal parameter in the Decal.ini found in a skin folder. Open the SPAD 's Decal.INI and see how it's done.
  19. I've downloaded Monty CZ's WWII train station objects for terrain building. I have a few terrain editors that I use to place these objects and a .LOD viewer. All the objects appear using all of the editors and viewers but when I run the game (First Eagles 2) none appear. I've triple checked the Types.INI and everything seems in place. I was wondering if the 3D format was of a version that FE2 can not read. Anyone out there have this problem? I have sent him a message too. But he hasn't been on line here in a few weeks.
  20. I put all .lod's into terrains/Vedun folder. I also put in all the correct .bmp's and tga's and some config.ini for shadow use. I even made winter versions of the objects and put them into the seasonal folders. I checked all of the target types I added to the terrains' (Verdun) Types.ini over and over. For the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. I'm pretty sure it's something so dumb and right in front of my eyes. I have 320 "Types" in my Verdun Types file. These are the only items I can't get to work. Thanks Wrench.
  21. What's strange is they all appear using mue's terrain editor which pulls .lod's from the Types.ini. But won't appear in-game. If the types .ini had a typo then they shouldn't work with any editor. I can't figure it out.
  22. P-47 makes forced landing in Hudson river

Very sad for the pilot. Trying to keep these old birds flying is costly enough. But to lose a life doing it is terrible. Sad all around.
  23. I'm looking at the dates I made these posts and I'm wondering the same thing! Holy cow it's been almost three years already? I guess it's about time I just post the damn terrain already. I keep making changes and adding new objects (thanks to Stephen1918 and Geezer) and new tiles. Enough already. I can post it then make updates when needed. Ok I'll start packing it all up for you guys. It will have to be a few separate downloads because of the size of the terrain files and all the ground objects I would have to add. Not tooting my own horn but well worth it. Thanks for the kick in the pants von Oben.
  24. Halberstadt D.V

The name of the .tga used for the "holes" has to match the name of the corresponding .bmp image in the aircraft's texture folder. I noticed the names did not match up. The .tga that reads "fuse_HOLES" in the D.V's main folder should read "Halb D5 Fuselage_HOLES" (the name of the fuselage .bmp in the texture, "skin" folder). When I tried it out I did get some damage on the fuselage. But I didn't see any on the wings yet. I'll try again later. Didn't have much time to check it all out.
  25. Anyone know if there is a parameter in an aircrafts' DATA.ini that would allow for AI aircraft in my flight to have engine failure? Maybe a random overheat.
