  1. Help Please!

I could be wrong too Wildfowler, but I think the solid object add-on might be for FE2 conversion. I have FEG and just upgraded to FE2. When using Jan's terrain I found that the solid objects in his terrains like telephone poles and sheds were surrounded by white backgrounds. This was a problem with the .tga files that they were drawn on. So I installed the Solid objects patch (I guess it's a patch) and poof, all the solid white backgrounds were gone. Again I could be wrong. But thats what it did for me. And there is nothing about it in the Readme file. So I guess you should send JanTuma a PM. P.S. Raden is 100% right about backing up any file you are about to change. I learned this the hard way. I have a seperate folder on my desktop for "original FEG stuff".
  2. I've noticed that the late style German crosses seem to wash out the rudders and vertical Stabilizers. I was told that some people had to rename the "FilenameFormat=TAIL" to "FilenameFormat=INSIGNIA" in German aircrafts' skin folders Decal.ini files. This works but would take forever if you had to do this for every skin in every aircraft folder. So I just copied the "INSIGNIA.tga's" and renamed them Tail004, TAIL019, TAIL020,etc,etc. And placed them right into the main Decal folder. This way the game will see these new "TAIL" decals first and place them on any aircraft that uses the "FilenameFormat=TAIL" decal. Instructions are in the Readme file inside......Hope it's not just me that sees this problem. Fly a Pfalz D.IIIa in the summer of 1918. Look at the rudder.
  3. SORRY guys. The above download had 20 .tga's in it. I only meant to put 3. The dowload in the first thread has been updated. For those of you that already installed the 20 .tga's into your "Decal" folder, delete all of them except for TAIL004, TAIL019, and TAIL020. These are the German Insignias. The original download would have given you Roundels on the rudders and vertical stabilizers. Woops, sorry about that.
  4. Decal Folders "D" for FE2

Wow, what a PITA! There is a whole lot of files to change over. Argh I'm going to have to change some things around for all my skins that I posted here. I have a nice easy fix for all the FEG planes that are now in FE2 that use the National Insignias. Since the "TAIL".tga for the rudder is all white background, I'll post new Insignias from FE2 that are renamed "Tail" to place into your new FE2 "Decals" folder. That way you wont have to change every "FilenameFormat" in each aircraft skin Decal.ini from transfered FEG aircraft. Hope you know what I'm gettin at. I'll post it tonight
  5. Decal Folders "D" for FE2

Ah, I get it now. Thank you very much Gunrunner
  6. Ok, so I installed FE2 for the second time. I have it set to use DX9 and set AntiAliasing=0. My ingame graphic settings are all set to medium or low. The game is unusable for me. The frame rates are horrendous. It's so slow I can walk faster then the planes can fly. Why is this????. My FEG install has everything set to maximum settings. And it works just fine. What am I missing and why is my FE2 so slow. It really is useless. Here are my PC specs: (I know I have intergrated graphics. But it does the trick for FEG) * HP Pavilion P6210F Black Desktop PC (Windows 7 Home Premium) AMD Athlon II 620 Quad-Core Processor (2.6 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) 6GB PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM memory (3x2048MB for ultimate performance)(expandable to 16GB) 640GB (7200RPM) Serial ATA hard drive; SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe Technology NVIDIA GeForce 9100 Graphics with 256MB integrated shared graphics memory. Up to 2.9 GB Total Available Graphics Memory as allocated by Windows 7. Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Can any of you computer people out there give me some pointers on how to tweak what I have? Atleast till I get a PCIe graphics card.
  7. Sounds good I'll give it a go. For aircraft that used a "D" folder (decals) like the PfalzD.IIIa in FEG, how do I get those decals to appear in FE2? Wher do I do with the "D" folder?
  8. Well Heck I've been messing with the settings and seem to have found a good place. Things are running smooth now with a mix of medium and high settings. But now I'm trying to figure out this new folder tree stuff . Kind of getting the hang of it. I like that you know what you've added to what folders. Nothing gets overwritten. Thats a plus. Took awhile to figure out how and where to extract everything, but I think I got it. Thanks Heck. I just need a good GFX card
  9. Mike Dora they're all in the First Eagles download section under /skins/Pfalz
  10. File Name: 17-Pack of Albatros Models File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 06 May 2010 File Updated: 06 May 2010 File Category: Albatros Skins This is a mix of D.IIIOAW, D.V, and D.Va albatros skins. All with fairly accurate Jasta markings. Some models will share the same Jasta markings. This is so different planes can be used at the same time. Also they will match some of the Pfalz D.IIIa's done by me as well. There are 17 skins in this download. Too many to list here. But it's all in the readme file inside. Enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file
  11. Multiplayer issues

It is a shame. I'll bet hundreds of people wont buy FE because there is now on-line gameplay support. I was almost one of them. I'm shocked there is still no on-line support for FE2. Almost everyone that plays games these days play on-line. IL-2 was incredible for its online multiplayer. I used it for years. I'll admit, it does get a little boring playing alone against AI all the time. FE with online multiplayer would be great if you ask me.

  13. I'm using All new "Horizon" .tga's for my FEG install. But, why does the new "Clear Sky" only show up sometimes? Why does the default "Clear Sky" Still show up if its no longer in the "Flight" folder?. The new Scattered, overcast, etc, etc always shows. Just not the "Clear". What gives? How do I get rid of the stock "Clear Sky"?. That solid horizon line is driving me crazy! .... but only sometimes I know FEG is a thing of the past, but I really like it still. So I'm still messing with it. I have way too many things in my install to just transfer it all over. Plus I have a second install for only Austrian, Italian, and Russian aircraft (skins). So needless to say, It will be a long conversion to FE2 for me. Not looking forward to it.
  14. I posted the serial number decals for the Albatros models in the download section under FE /Skins/ Albatros I included the placement coordinates as well to be placed into each model's skins' "Decal.ini" file. The decals are for the Alb D.III, Alb D.IIIOAW, Alb D.V, and the Alb D.Va

  17. Flyable Staakens

Awsome work sinbad . I for one like flying bombers so this is great!
  18. Through further research I decided that the color for Jasta 77b should be more of a Bavarian Blue as apposed to the dark bluish purple that I made it. So here is a patch of JUST the two skin templates for the Pfalz D.IIIa and Pfalz D.XII of Jasta77b that were done by quack74. You dont have to patch your planes. But this is a more accurate rendering. I already updated the main downloads.
  19. Your not bugging me Heck. I need you guys to tell me these things. I appreciate it. BTW, I updated the file in the first thread. I added the "D" folder to the Jasta 77b Pfalz D.IIIa. I forgot the tail was a decal. Most of the plane is a decal. Sorry to all you that downloaded the patch. Thanks Heck Those DV's are next. Also the correct serial numbers for the Albatros DIII, DIIIOAW, DV, and DVa's that will be on the tail fin.
  20. Just a patch for the 3 Pfalz D.IIIa's of Jasta 15 that I posted with that 25-Pack. This is really optional. But I figured I'll post it here for those of you who want it. The patch will create silver-grey undersides of the fuselages and the horizontal stabilizers. They have been rendered both ways. Also there is a fix for J15 Ltn von Buttlar. The Horn emblem wasnt showing.
  21. I just realized that Berthold's winged sword should be reversed on the port side. Sorry again...Stay tuned.
  22. Found another D.IIIa needing a little fix. The file below is for the Jasta29 Pfalz D.IIIa. It is a new skin template (Pfalz). It will add a silver-grey underside with two short black stripes. Sorry about that. Another oversight. After doing so many I tend to forget some details. After about 20 of you or so have downloaded this patch, I'll delete this thread. I already edited the main download.
  23. File Name: Pfalz D.XII 9-Pack File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 30 Apr 2010 File Updated: 04 May 2010 File Category: Pfalz Skins These skins are as accurate as I know how to make them. They are generic skins with a general Jasta marking. I've only come up with 9 skins. I know Jasta 5 also had some D.XII's but I've not yet found a photo or rendering of the type. If anyone has any info on a D.XII of Jasta 5 please fill me in. 1. Pfalz Camo 1 - Brown, light green, and green fuselage. 2. Pfalz Camo 2 - Purple, Green, light green, and grey fuselage. 3. Jasta17 - Blue-grey nose, wheels and tail with white cowling. 4. Jasta23b - Purple, green, light green, and grey fuselage with black and white tail section. 5. Jasta32b - Purple, green, light green and grey fuselage with black stabilizers. 6. Jasta35b - Brown, green, light green fuselage with a white chevron on upper wings. 7. Jasta43 - Grey fuselage with white tail and nose. 8. Jasta49 - Grey fuselage with red stabilizers and wheels. 9. Jasta77b - Grey fuselage with blue nose, tail, and wheels. All wing surfaces are covered in 4-color printed fabric. Enjoy, quack74 Edit: Jasta77b is now a more Bavarian Blue. Click here to download this file
  24. All my skins work for FE2. As far as where to put them I'm not sure. I'm not using FE2 just yet. But just ask in the forums and someone will let you know.
