New Pfalz D.III, D.IIIa, and D.XII skins available
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
FYI, I just posted a whole bunch of Pfalz skins in the download section. 5 D.III's, 25 D.IIIa's and 9 D.XII's. I didnt include any good pics of them. Too many. Have fun. Not to toot my own horn but the Jasta 4 D.III and D.IIIa came out very nice. Oh, and 1 AlbatrosD.V of Kest 8w to go along with the Pfalz D.IIIa of Kest 8w -
Thanks a lot guys. Glad you like 'em. You'll see there are some black streaks on the underside of the nose. Thats from the decals. I couldnt get rid of those. I tried and tried. Made me nuts. But how often do you look under the nose anyway ?

Sorry all. I did find a problem with the Pfalz D.IIIa of Jasta 5, in the 25-Pack download. Here is the fix for that plane. Just drop these items into the skin folder. I'll post an update in the download section. This is for those of you who already downloaded the Pfalz package that it's in. So you dont have to download the whole thing again.

New Pfalz D.III, D.IIIa, and D.XII skins available
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Lol! Skinning is the only thing I do for myself these days. I'm home watching my 21mo old daughter for the last several months now. I skin while she plays behind me. I only have to stop to feed her . Actually it's addicting. I've been redoing some old skins of mine. When ever I learn a new techniqe with Phtoshp I have to redo my old stuff. It's a sickness I tell ya. I wish I could delete the old skins. Well I guess I could just edit the old downloads. But then nobody would know what is new. Hmmm, am I thinking out loud again? -

These skins are as accurate as I know how to make them. They are generic skins with a general Jasta marking. I've only come up with 9 skins. I know Jasta 5 also had some D.XII's but I've not yet found a photo or rendering of the type. If anyone has any info on a D.XII of Jasta 5 please fill me in. 1. Pfalz Camo 1 - Brown, light green, and green fuselage. 2. Pfalz Camo 2 - Purple, Green, light green, and grey fuselage. 3. Jasta17 - Blue-grey nose, wheels and tail with white cowling. 4. Jasta23b - Purple, green, light green, and grey fuselage with black and white tail section. 5. Jasta32b - Purple, green, light green and grey fuselage with black stabilizers. 6. Jasta35b - Brown, green, light green fuselage with a white chevron on upper wings. 7. Jasta43 - Grey fuselage with white tail and nose. 8. Jasta49 - Grey fuselage with red stabilizers and wheels. 9. Jasta77b - Grey fuselage with blue nose, tail, and wheels. All wing surfaces are covered in 4-color printed fabric. Enjoy, quack74 Edit: Jasta77b is now a more Bavarian Blue. -
File Name: Pfalz D.IIIa 25-Pack File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 30 Apr 2010 File Updated: 04 May 2010 File Category: Pfalz Skins These are all Pfalz D.IIIa's. 25 Jastas with generalized accurate markings. All info in the readme file inside. These are highly detailed D.IIIa's. As real looking as the model will allow. Thanks to the Skunkworks team for the original model and to Capun for allowing me top repost my skin work. If anyone notices any incorrect markings or mistakes please let me know. After doing 25 skins it's hard to catch everything. There are some glitchy things on the model when painted or placing decals. I cant fix those things. They are minor. enjoy, quack74 Edit: Jasta 77b now has a more "Bavarian Blue". Click here to download this file

File Name: Pfalz D.III 5-Pack File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 30 Apr 2010 File Updated: 30 Apr 2010 File Category: Pfalz Skins This Pfalz D.III pack contains 5 accurate generic skins. 1. Silver-Grey - All Silver-Grey (Stock) 2. Jasta 4 - Silver-Grey with black spiral band around fuselage. 3. Jasta 10 - Silver-Grey fuselage with yellow nose, struts, wheels and tail section. 4 Jasta 16b - Silver-Grey fuselage with a black tail section and spinner. 5. Jasta 21 - Silver-Grey fuselage with a black and white vertical band aft of the cockpit. Included in this dowload is the DATA.ini for the D.III. Install it into your Pfalz D.III aircraft folder and overwrite the original one. It contains Peter01's flight model and removed guns by Christian59. I lowered the gun muzzle and flash to fit into the painted on gun ports to simulate a real D.III. versions of these have all been posted before. But I recommend using these instead. They are higher in detail and more accurate renditions of real D.III's. Enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file

Awsome! More bombers the better.

Just some Pfalz D.IIIa's and Albatros D.V's of Kest8w. Home Defense. I'm going to release a 25 pack of Pfalz D.IIIa skins and this one Alb D.V. The snakes are random decals. I'm not sure how they really looked or even how many there were. But they're cool none the less. I know they were in green and in white.

I would try this myself but I'm working on a bunch of skins. But is it possible to add a ghost gun that would shoot on a key stroke out of the starboard side of the cockpit facing, say, 30 deg up and about 2 O'clock out? Then a tracer similar to the le prieur rockets could be added. Also where the flame would be on the le prieur rockets, can be changed to a color, like red, green, or blue. Maybe the flare effect can be triggered by the "Tab 1" attack command. Just a thought

Whiteknight mentioned something about some D.XIIs'. I've been doing some already. So here are some pics. I think there are 9 or 10. Just generics. But accurate. The last couple of pics have a D.IIIa in them. It and the D.XII are marked in Jasta 77b colors. I'm also releasing 18 new Pfalz D.IIIa skins. Completely reworked.

Here is where I got the flare gun decal idea from:
-
I'm not sure, but I think you could create a flair by creating a special rocket that you'd have to choose as an air to air weapon. You could even have four separate ones to represent the four separate commands in FE2, so the sequence would be: choose a/a weapon attack flare, fire it, choose the attack command from the menu, issue it. Might be worth trying out somehow. Would be very cool. I'll holster my flare gun ..... My wife would get a kick out of that one
-
You're right Heck. The pistol was mostly inside the cockpit. And only flight leaders would have the flares. I figured I would put the gun out side to add alittle detail. Since the cartridges arent 3D they look like a square patch all alone. Well I'll do the cartriges only every 4 or more planes. And maybe I'll try to put the gun in the cockpit or something. I'll tell you, it would be cool if the attack command could also trigger a bright flare shot . Hmmmm
-
A little touch I would like to add as a decal for new skins and maybe some old. I can make it appear on the first plane of every flight (every fourth) or just the first plane. Or all, what do you think?
-
First I need to say most of this skin work was created by SH71 in '07. I just made a couple of new ones. I've reworked all the available Gotha skins and made a couple more of my own with bits and pieces of others. I've removed all the painted on markings so they all now use the game generated markings. I also created new tailnumbers for the Night version (white outlines). There are a few skins from Kagohl 3 plus one generic and a night camouflage version to go along with the MOROTAS skin. I'll post these all soon. For anyone who doesnt know, the Gotha can be found at http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ in the WWI section. A password is needed. I just got tired of not having the Late markings for the Gothas

Thanks to gumpy for reminding me that awhile ago I said I would post some new formations for the fighters and bombers. Well I did. There in the download section under "Object Mods". It's just one "Formation.ini" file with a readme and some pics. Hope you like it

I only use FE from Thirdwire. And currently I'm only using First Eagles Gold. I really dont know anything about the FE2 folder structure yet. I think I mentioned in the Readme that this was for a FEG install. But I did forget to mention the unpacking stuff. I've had this stuff unpacked for so long now I forget sometimes that newcomers havnt unpacked the main files yet. Sorry about that. I dont know where else you could use these formations. I really only made them up for FE.

File Name: New Formations File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 19 Apr 2010 File Category: First Eagles Object Mods This is my "Formation.ini" file for First Eagles Gold install. For FE2 look in the CombatAce.com First Eagles forums for help It has three altered formation versions. 1. "Fighter" -- Used for German fighter and attack aircraft. "Vee" flight formation with "Vee" Squadron formation. 2. "Fighter2" - Used for Allied fighters and attack aircraft. "Echelon Left" flight formation with box like Squadron formation. 3. "Bomber" - I changed the spread of each flight of three. More space between. Each flight is in a "Vee" formation with a slight altitude difference with each aircraft. I included pics of each formation so you can see what I have described above. A Readme file is also inside. Enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file
