Two-Seaters- why won't my gunners open fire?
quack74 replied to Spad13's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Somewhere in the process of modding my two-seaters stopped firing aswell. I dont know what happened or how to fix it. Not sure if it's in each two-seater's Data.ini file or in the main AircraftObject.ini file. I havent messed with it that much yet. Didnt want to make it worse. But right now I dont have a PC. Waiting for my new tower. Should be nice setup. I hope I can retrieve my original FE from my old PC -
Thanks a lot fellas. Thats good to know.

Hope you all had a great day. I need an addition on the house for all my daughters new toys. And my computer died again. A little late to add to my Christmas list for Santa. Merry Christmas

I didnt touch anything! After I replaced my graphics card I realized from inside the cockpit, of all planes, There is no engine or gun sound on the starboard side. It's fine straight ahead and on the port side. But as I pan to my right the sounds fade to nothing. The windloop is there and the sounds from other aircraft and explosions are there. Just no guns or engine. I never messed with anything sound related or cockpit related. Anyone know where or how I can fix this?

Hi everybody. Ok, I'm working on the last flight of Werner Voss of Jasta 10. Had to do some research to get it as accurate as possible. I've done all I could to get all the correct markings on the S.E.5's of No.56 Suadron and No.60 Squadron. I still need to paint on the correct letters and numbers but for now I've used the game generated decals. I did paint on the Roundels and moved them closer to the center of the wings as they were early on in 1917. I created the August and September version of No.56 markings w the dumbells on the rear fuselage. They were only around for those two months. It was after the Voss fight of Sept 23 the marking of a white band, just forward the tail, section was implimented. I think on Sept 30. And No.60 Squad had white circles aft of the roundels and on the rear fuselage top deck. So below are some pics of the skins (WIP) I will include along with the single mission. No.56 Squadron B Flight: No.56 Squadron C Flight: No.56 Squadron A Flight (not involved in fight but made it anyway): No.60 Squadron: And Werner Voss' FI.103/17 Line up shots and one combat shot: There will be more in the readme file. But after take off as Werner Voss in Dr.1 103/17, you will fly over No-Mans Land and encounter two S.E.5's from 60 Squad which will be easy prey, but then you will be jumped by No.56 B Flight then C flight. A lone red nosed albatros (Very Possibly Karl Menckhoff of Jasta 3) will join you. The timing has worked out for me so far. I'll try it a few more times. I also added some action on No-Mans Land for some effect. You're not supposed to live through this. So if you don't, then it worked. At least if you are killed be No.56 Squadron.

I cant say for sure if you need the Exp Pak or not for the Nov Update to work. But if you really want to get into this sim I highly recommend getting the Exp Pak. It's full of needed stuff and new planes. There are a whole lot of Mods created by a bunch of users here at CombatAce that make FE an incredible sim. But I believe you'll need the Exp Pk to use most of them. And if you get a chance, download some of Peter01's flight models in the FE download section. There has been a lot of stuff going on since the original FE. Will take some doing to catch up. Well worth the time if you ask me. Welcome back aboard.

I just posted some Albatros D.V's of Jasta 11. Unfortunately very few are known. And very few pictures are available. Strange considering the fame of Jasta 11. Also I posted a Pfalz D.III of Jasta 11 to go along with the D.V's. It is the D.III of Ltn. Hans-Karl von Linsingen sometime in late 1917. Read the Readme file for both downloads for more info. Those Jasta 4's will come soon

Almost a year is a long time though. It's been awhile since the last upgrade. TW should throw a dog a bone to hold us over till then. An aircraft, a map, a fix for the sloppy formations that wander all over the place at take-off, a proper sky mod that doesnt have that horizon band that gets higher and higher as your plane gains altitude. Anything would be nice. There're many things that need a little fixing that no one here at CA seems to know how to fix. I know I'm going on but I really like First Eagles and I guess I would just like to be assured it will only get better . But I do understand how things work and I wont hold my breath (for too long)

One hell of a production! Awsome. I like watching First Eagles movies. Feel free to use any of my skins for your next movie. They'll make a nice dogfight sequence.

Thats the same problem I'm having now. Only the gun sound seems to fade as I pan right in cockpit view. If I pan left it's fine. My engine sounds are fine now panning right and left. Acctually The gun sound almost cuts out at about 2 o'clock and then will go up a bit as I pan farther to the right. Very strange because I've never messed with anything sound related before.
-
On the A-Team's Pfalz D.III the guns are raised out of the fuselage. That was done on the Pfalz D.IIIa models. But the tail section and lower wing wingtips are that of a Pfalz D.III. I would like to lower the guns down into the fuselage and do whatever painting that would be neccessary to make it appear like a true D.III. I know how to move the muzzle and flash positions but not the guns themselves (if it's even possible).

Do custom skins appear online or just the stock default skins?

For those of you that already downloaded the Albatros D.V skin of Jasta 32b's Vzfw. Frans Schmid, I just posted an update in the skin download section. I edited the same file to add some lozenge fabric, without the black paint, to the elevators and the rudder. So just redownload that same file and rewrite the original Schmid skin with the new version. The new version with the lozenge is correct. Sorry about that. I just found a new picture showing the tail section. My original was wrong.

Jasta 11 Ltn. Hans Hintsch? D.III
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
File Name: Jasta 11 Ltn. Hans Hintsch? D.III File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 25 Nov 2009 File Category: Albatros Skins This Albatros D.III is possibly D.2016/16 Piloted by either Lt.Constantin Krefft or Lt.Hans Hintsch. I just chose Ltn. Hintsch. 50/50 guess:) It appears in the foreground of a famous Jasta 11 lineup at Roucourt, France, April 1917. Its serial number is censored in the photograph. The number appears to be 2016/17 which would make it Ltn. Hans Hintch's D.III. He Flew this Albatros D.III and shot down Sopwith triplane on 23rd May 1917. He was KIA on 24 May 1917. Enjoy, quack74 P.S. Use this skin with WarlordATF's Jasta 11 DIII skin pack found in the CombatAce download section. Click here to download this file -

It's been sort of quiet around here, as far as modding goes. Is everyone waiting to see what First Eagles 2 or the new Expansion Pack brings? I think Third Wire is going to release FE-2 first. Anyone have any other info on this. I must say I too have been hesitant on doing some skins for add-on aircraft because I'm not sure what new aircraft FE-2 will have. I might have to do my Pfalz and Sopwith Tripe skins again Anyway, anyone know what's up

Jasta 12 DV's w darker purple
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
File Name: Jasta 12 DV's w darker purple File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 22 Nov 2009 File Category: Albatros Skins Here are 11 Albatros D.V's of Jasta 12 in early summer 1917. This pack is the same as the one already posted at CombatAce, except for the darkened purple camo on the wing surfaces. You decide which you like better. Also I included the stock Jasta 12 DV with the dark purple paint. They can be used along with quack74's Albatros D.III's of Jasta 12. Jasta 12 used a few D.III's until mid summer 1917. The one folder named "Criss Cross" has a stock light blue fuselage but I did include another .bmp with a white fuselage. Couldnt make up my mind. Shown in a line-up photo along side Schobingers D.V, it is one of the two. These are just from the summer and fall of 1917. Late 1917 to 1918 had different personal markings all together. I had to draw a line somewhere:) Enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file -
File Name: French Sopwith Triplane File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 22 Nov 2009 File Category: Sopwith Skins This is a Sopwith Triplane in French markings mid 1917. Belonging to the Centre D'Aviation Maritime in Dunkirk, France. I believe the numbers were also on the upper fuselage just aft of the cockpit. But the way the model is set up it is not possible to add these numbers without distortion. I tried and tried, no go. Thanks to Capun and the SFP1 A-Team for the original Triplane Model and for the permission to skin and repost. The "French" skin and skin only was done by quack74. The Triplane model can be downloaded by permission and password at: http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ Enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file
