Here are 11 Albatros D.V's of Jasta 12 in early summer 1917. This pack is the same as the one already posted at CombatAce, except for the darkened purple camo on the wing surfaces. You decide which you like better. Also I included the stock Jasta 12 DV with the dark purple paint. They can be used along with quack74's Albatros D.III's of Jasta 12. Jasta 12 used a few D.III's until mid summer 1917. The one folder named "Criss Cross" has a stock light blue fuselage but I did include another .bmp with a white fuselage. Couldnt make up my mind. Shown in a line-up photo along side Schobingers D.V, it is one of the two. These are just from the summer and fall of 1917. Late 1917 to 1918 had different personal markings all together. I had to draw a line somewhere:) Enjoy, quack74 -

This is a Sopwith Triplane in French markings mid 1917. Belonging to the Centre D'Aviation Maritime in Dunkirk, France. I believe the numbers were also on the upper fuselage just aft of the cockpit. But the way the model is set up it is not possible to add these numbers without distortion. I tried and tried, no go. Thanks to Capun and the SFP1 A-Team for the original Triplane Model and for the permission to skin and repost. The "French" skin and skin only was done by quack74. How could my plane rolls through trees?
quack74 replied to Spad13's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I still do my best to avoid those trees. Just look for an opening somewhere and put her down. You can still pretend they're real like I do -
Just waiting for that upper wing to shred off

Just wanted some feedback on the new J32b D.V's purple vs the stock lighter purple. I posted the Jasta 12 D.V's with the stock light purple last night. I just did a few with the darker purple. IMHO they look much better with the darker purple. Before anyone else downloads the Jasta 12 D.V's I would like to know from you guys if I should change to the darker purple. Which does seem more accurate. It's how it's done in Osprey's Albatros Aces Part 2. Top or bottom?

After reading reports like that of Voss's last fight with 56 Squadron I would imagine it could do even more.

One word, EXCELLENT!

Jan Tuma, I was woundering if you've placed any dead or broken trees around the front (NoMans Land). This area would have lots of pulverized trees and forests.

Hey bucky, I would "like" to see it. I dont "have" to see it. Dont go digging through your stuff just for a pic in this thread . It's ok, when you get it you get it.

Thats why I mentioned changing the monitor settings. I happened to me a few times too when messing with the in-game resolution settings.

Good. I always want to make the planes look used and beat up. I just thought everyone liked them better clean. So I only added a little wear and tear on my other skins. Next batch I'll do more. Thanks guys By the way, tomorrow I'll add the dark purple version of the Jasta 12 D.V's. I'll edit the current download file. So there will be 10 light purple and 10 dark purple. So everyone can chose for themselves. Just re download the Jasta 12 D.V file when you see it has been edited. Hey bucky, I'd like to see that wing fabric. Post a pic.

Well I havent been able to post anything this past week due to a fried graphics card. The fan stopped working on my Nvidia6800XTX last week. Needless to say in cooked. Now I cant get into my PC. Funds are tight these days so I'll just try to replace the card and do a system restore if I can. I can only run in safe mode for a bit but cant work on anything. Funny I was working on Ltn. Auer's DV of Jasta 32b in photoshop. Lots of work getting the stripes on the forward fuselage. But I finally got it, then poof!. Awsome right? As soon as I get back up and running I'll post my Jasta 12 DIII's and early DV's from summer 1917. Then a few more Dr.1's. Talk to you all soon.

If I may just add my thoughts I would some a little rough round the edges with oil streaks paint flacking off and well used. Please don't take this as a criticism of any work that's just my thought's. I'm not sure if I understood you don246. You would like more oil stains and weathering? Or less? I never wanted to go too crazy with the wear and tear. Some people dont like dirty planes. I like'em dirty and used. Criticise all you want. That's what these forums are for. I take no offense from the input from any of you guys. It usually helps to make things better. Infact I would like more Criticism. I just want to make stuff that everyone would like to use.

I Agree as well. I know that getting the right shade of any color is impossible. But I figured while I'm doing fuselage markings and weathering, why not change the camo as well. Most profiles I've seen have a darker shade of purple. So thats what I use sometimes. I just happen to like the darker shade. Personal preference really. Just wanted to know if people might want the darker purple or the stock purple for the Jasta 12 D.V's. Mine now have the darker shade. I suppose I could post two in the same download. A lot more work though. I dont know. If people want it I'll do it. I've changed a lot of the stock skins in my game to make them more historically accurate. Some markings and colors werent right. Simple things really, like the white faceplate on the Jasta 2 Dr.1.s was missing. As was the upper and lower wing cross fields on most of the other Dr.1's. Some were white and some were over painted in olive paint. Just some examples. So I'm always changing things. Thats why I asked about the purple paint. I even try messing with the lozenge colors. I'm very limited these days for purchasing any other books, so I really rely on other peoples (you guys) research and input. I do my share of internet reading, but everything is limited. Need to join or pay for profiles in most sites. There are sooo many books I wish I had in front of me right now. But you all know that WWI books are not cheap. It's frustrating to do, for example, only 2 Jasta 32b D.V's knowing there is a whole book out there just for Jasta 32b with lots of pics.

Lol! My PC is on life support. I'm waiting for my new video card to come in the mail. I managed to get a few files out tonight. Couldnt get anymore because the PC keeps shutting down on me after 20mins or so. Sucks! Lucky for me I was able to back up all my files. My FE folder is approximately 7.5GB. I wonder why my video card fried.
