Here are a few pics of the Albatros D.V lozenge fabric I've been working on. I always felt the stock lozenge was a bit dark. So (I should have done it sooner) I added a "GermanCamo3" to my D5 inventory. I also did a few Jasta 26 D.V's to try it out with. I like it. And I hope you all will too. I'll post the four Jasta 26 Albatros D.V's tomorrow. 1. Oblt. Bruno Loerzer - Star- D.2299/17 2. Ltn. Otto Fruhner - Cross- D.2329/17 3. Unknown - Swastika- unkown serial 4. Stock Jasta26 w/ new lozenge If anyone knows of any other DV's from Jasta 26 please let me know. I'ld like to do more if possible. Also, if it seems to be too colorful please let me know. Here critisizim is a good thing

Hannover CL.III Skin Pack
quack74 replied to Saltfiskur's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
Good stuff Saltfiskur! . I'll tell you, the skinning here is endless as you now know. So many different planes. Glad to see you helping make this sim even better. Keep'em coming -
I think that since the Terrains are endlessly modable and so many of you guys have been working so hard at them, I think TK will leave it to use to get them the way we want them. Which isnt a bad thing. The Horizon Lines have to be fixed thats for sure. That solid line that cuts across the sky has to go. I think we are all in agreement on that. There are a bunch of environmental mods to help eliminate this. But nothing is perfect when you try to overwrite the the original system files. Sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesnt . Now for my wish, we definitely need an Enemy Selection screen for the Single Mission section. We need to be able to select our opponent for certain maps and we should be able to select which custom skins to use for them. There're so many skins to choose from now it's a shame that they cant be utilized in single missions. In the "Loadout Screen" there should be a section for "Enemy Flight". Having Italian S.V.A.5's and Austrian Hansa B's showing up at random over Cambria or Flanders fighting SE5a's and F2b's bugs me sooo much. Just as an example, but Im sure you all know what I mean. I should be able to select up to 16 aircraft for my Squadron or Jasta and select the skins for each aircraft (which we can do now), as well as being able to select up to 16 aircraft on the opposing side with skin options. That's my wish . That would really add to the realism of this sim in my opinion. It cant be that hard to do. It probably could be added as a patch rather than waiting for a new Expansion Pack. I wonder if we (or someone who knows how this stuff works) could create it our selves. Or it's probably something thats locked in the game code. I dont know, what ever, I starting to think out loud . Anyway thats what I would like.

I'm going to have to hire some help! That Bristol Scout will take a little time. Need screens, damage model .tga's, decals and skins. The original skin template is very vague. I dont know were all the parts, and panels are. But I'll get going on it for sure -

Nice work for sure Saltfiskur! It is nice to see someone else doing skin packs. Kind of a relief . Now I dont need to do any of those for myself. I really like the Jasta 21's. I did a couple of Jasta 21 Pfalz DIII's. They'll fly well together. And the Jasta Boelcke ones, Awsome! -
Thanks for the new terrain, Stary!

A Channel terrain would be great if some would take on the task. I dont know anything about terrains and editing. So I depend on you other guys -
Jasta 19 Dr.1 Tail fix and cross fields
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
File Name: Jasta 19 Dr.1 Tail fix and cross fields File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 07 Sep 2009 File Category: Fokker Skins This is a pack of 14 Fokker Dr.1's of Jasta 19 done by quack74. All these skins were previously posted here in the download section. This pack will fix the tail sections of those skins. The Fuselage streaking now continues through the tail to the rudder. Also the lower wings will now have the white cross fields. In the readme I've explained how to add the cross fields to the stock Dr.1 Jastas and my other skins that don't already have them. enjoy, quack74 Click here to download this file -

Fix for Jasta19 Fokker Dr.1 tails and cross fields
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
It's been bugging me for too long. I'm posting a fix for all the Jasta 19 Fokker Dr.1's I've done. Instead of an all yellow tail I have extended the fuselage streaking through the tail to the rudder. This is historically accurate. I guess I was being lazy before. Also I've added a fix for the lack of white cross fields on the underside of the lower wings. Just follow the readme file in the download. I'm surprised no one called me out on these . -

Austria and northern Italy, looks like they're on the way. Those valleys look amazing with that lighting. I can almost see an Avaitik DI flying by. -

We Need those Seaplanes now. I wonder what's happening with those? They would look great with the ships and ports. -

This might be far fetched. You seem to have enough on your plate right now. But could a version of the Gibralter Terrain be altered to look like the Channel?. Not that the Gibralter Terrain isnt good, but maybe Green up the terrain a bit and add some cliffs on the northern coastline? I was always surprised no one ever added the English coast to any map. Flanders or even Cambria. It would be good for Gotha missions and Handly Page missions. There were lots of Home Defence aircraft that could be used. Maybe sometime in the future Just a thought. Good stuff Stary. Good stuff -
I'll post these three Jasta 17 Albatros DV's in the morning. But for now I thought you might like a peek. "Mops" belongs to Ltn. Julius Buckler "ly" with the heart belongs to Vfw. Georg Strasser. I'll also include a repaint of the stock jasta 17 DV to fit along with the other two (a weathered version with new wing colors). Also I'll post a quick fix (repaint) of the F2b. Three versions. All with a dark olive wings and fuselages. One with red wheel discs and one with blue wheel discs. The third uses the stock wheel discs. I'll need to do a bunch of decal work and painting to get you some historic F2b squadrons. Will take some time. But this will add a bit of color for now. Put one of them as the first skin in the F2b folder's "F2b Configuration Settings" to make it the default skin if you want. Here are some pics: I know you guys like pics. I do too.

We need the snow toped ALPS!!!!! Has everyone seen the light house in the Gibralter terrain?! Awsome! Just waiting for the trees and such. Excellent work I must say. The water looks great too. Many thanks. -
Three Jasta 17 Albatros DV's & more
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Not really Deep. I just find that the hi res models slow my system down a bit. So I just use the stock sizes. But they would look really nice I would think. Not a bad idea though. Maybe I'll try a couple -

I had a little discusion with Capun1950 about that when I did the DH4. I think I'll do some work for it for sure. It kept showing up in FireCage's Plane Fest II. And it shows up in my early years single missions. It definitaly needs some new threads . I hope the A-Team will accept my work to get a final package release. In the mean time maybe I'll do one for everyone to use. Not a whole lot of skins for it. I think about three. Needs a lot of painting and texture. Will take a little time. But I'll do it -

Three Jasta 17 Albatros DV's & more
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I agree 100% with you bucky. But I didnt really work on the F2b yet. All decals are still the originals. I just changed the Fuse color and wheel discs. I did it on mine for a quick fix to add a little more historical detail. So I figured I would share it with you all till I get a few of them right. The skin template is soo vague. I'm not sure what anything is. Lots of decal work to get them right. Thanks for the input though bucky. -
Sorry I didnt realize that the Camel is only in the Expansion Pack. When I bought FE I installed the Exp Pack right away.

Hey there Jet_Spud. Welcome to our forum and First Eagles. It's an awsome sim. There are sooo many things in the download section that you can add to this sim. It's all personal preference really. Follow some older threads as far as what effects to add and so on. You can find all those other WWI planes at http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/. Look in the WWI aircraft section. You do need a password to get them. Follow instructions on the main page. Just need to send an e-mail request for password. If and when you get those planes, you need to then get all the updated flight models, by Peter01 , in the download section here at CombatAce. Under Flight Models. It's easy. There are Readme instructions for everything. You'll want everything in the download section! It'll drive you nuts. Well I hope this answers one of your questions anyway. Every one here will help anyway they can. Great bunch of people. And smart too.
