Not a problem . just give me a couple of days to post it. It's been argued that this plane, when taken over by Udet, had its stripes painted over in red and light blue. The black and white was Kirchstein's colors. So I will do both, black and white with the "LO" and the red and light blue with the "LO". I'm also going to post a Jasta 4 Dr.1 with the same light blue on the nose, wheels and struts. So Udets plane will have someone to fly with :yes: .

Do you still have the all wood fuselage version? Would make other skins more easy. Great model by the way. The flight model is right on also.

Here is my last one for now. It's the No.50 Squadron of the USAS. Had to make one for the USA. Since the model is technically still in the works I got a lot of distortion from the rear fuselage and tail. Had to keep the Olive Drab lower than it's supposed to be. Oh well Hope you guys dont mind the little glitchy marks . Looks good though, hope you like it.

Hey all. I just installed some cloud mods to my game from over at SFP1. The one on page 5 of the Terrain/Environmental downloads by Polak. Pretty old, from '05. Looks amazing! I'm not sure if there is a better one out there. This is the first one I've tried. It's an easy install as well. This only changes the Horrizon clouds not the low puffy ones. These need a different download. By the way anyone have a good fix for the low puffy clouds? The dont look so good against the nice new high clouds . Anyway I recommend trying this out. Makes the sky look real.

I probably should have said that I changed the the horizon in my game using Firecage's Horizon Mod. I did this first before I did the clouds mod. It gets rid of that line that cuts across the sky. I think thats what your talking about OlPaint01. Try the link below. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=40599 Also with the new "clouds" download I used my original EnvironmentSystems File not the the ones that came with the download. They didnt seem to work as well as the original for the low puffy clouds.

Where did you find this?!?! These are great! Just what I was lokking for How and where do you install these??????? . I dont really understand the instructions. What DATA and Config settings do I use. These are just .bmp images. Am I supposed to overwrite something??

Someone has to be able to help me with this one . I dont know much about the smoke coloring and what all the numbers mean . It's the large smoke or fire thats has the blue.

The skins are mine to do with as I please. So I would assume the A-Team might like to have one or two of them. Most likely a plain one and another. But the rest I would like to post here. I would also be posting the HangerScreen, LoadingScreen and the "Holes.tga" for the damaged DH4. I need to get in touch w Capun over at A-Team to see whats up. Glad you like them. I'll tell you, I've only been doing this for less than a year now. I did little work for my own use for IL-2 but nothing like this. I'm only learning how to use Photoshop as I go. These day I'm skinning w one hand tied behind my back. Literally! I'm usually holding my 11month old daughter while she naps . Photoshop is one hand friendly thats for sure . It feels good to contribute in anyway I can. The down side is I hardly get to play

From what I understand from Capun1950 over at A-Team, there is still some work to be done on the package. For starters, the skin template. Shadows need some work as well as the flight model. Also there is no damaged model, (Holes.tga file), and no Hanger screen and loading screen. It's still missing almost everything. I dont know their priorities over at A-Team, they seem very busy with other things. But Capun1950 has helped out a lot getting this plane useable. He fixed some shadow problems and gun problems. So my intention is to help speed things up a bit. I have done 9 skins w one plain for other users. Lots of decal work and texturing. I've done a "HangerScreen.bmp" for the loadout screen and a "Loading.bmp" for the loading screen. Also I have created 2 "Holes.tga" files for the damaged fuselage and wings. I have offered my work to the A-Team to use in their final package. If they like it, GREAT! it's all theirs. What ever I can do to help Then the DH4 would only need minor touch-ups on the shadows and the flight model. Where is Pete01? Like I said in the previous threads, the flight model for now is usable and the AI does the job. The minor fixes can be downloaded at A-Teams site under "Beta models" DH-4 update. It's a great two seater to use. I recomend to everyone to download it.

The AI DH4's seem to do just fine at ground attacks. When ordered to attack ground targets they're on the money. My flight took care of that airfield.

Ok, just to let everyone know what I'm doing. I did several skins of the DH4 from the Skunkworks A-team. When I post these skin packages they will include a "HangerScreen" .bmp (Loadout screen) and a "LoadingScreen" .bmp. If I remember correctly the loading screen that came with the DH4 was a picture of an FE8. And the temporary quick fixes for the shadows and the forward gun hammer can be found at http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/. Password needed. Go to the "Beta Models" section. Peter01 has done work on the flight model to make it flyable. Needs a lot more work, but it's flyable. The AI is ok too. Hopefully this work will help speed up the final release of the DH4 from the A-Team. As long as they like and approve of the work I'm not 100% sure of the color of the DH4's but I think I'm close. If anyone has any input on this please feel free :yes: I need to get this as close to accurate as I can. Thanks

Ok, I got it working now. That was the simple solution I was looking for Tailspin . But for the life of me I still cant figure what went wrong. The .bmp size was correct, res and mb. Huh???? Oh well. I'll be posting these soon. Remember, the fixes can only be downloaded at A-team Skunkworks. In the beta section. Follow the link in the previous thread above. Thanks Tailspin

I've tried it a few different ways. I keep getting the same results. Where is the SPAD Loading screen coming from?????? It's not even in the DH4 folder anywhere??? Very strange.

Just about done with some DH4 skins. Capun1950 over at A-Team has helped with some minor fixes. Such as shadows and gun hammers. I've finished the serial Numbers for the rudder. Engine detail needed some more fixing as well. I've added a "B" Flight and "C" Flight for each Squadron skin. Adds some color I did a "Hanger Screen" as well showing a picture of DH4's. But I'm having trouble with the "LoadingScreen" .bmp. I created a .bmp photo of DH4's for the loading screen but the "SPAD" loading screen still shows up. In my DH4 config settings file I have these lines: [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=Airco DH.4 AircraftDataFile=DH-4_data.ini CockpitDataFile=DH-4_cockpit.ini LoadoutFile=DH-4_loadout.ini HangarScreen=DH4_Hanger.bmp LoadingScreen=DH4_loading.bmp<------here The only photo I have for this in the DH4's folder is a .bmp of a DH4, (proper size and all), How and why is the photo of SPAD's still showing up????? Could anyone help with this one? :yes: Anyway here are some new shots of No.49Sqn : And a nice shot of DH4's being escorted by "C" Flight Triplanes. One of the best game generated Single Missions I've done You can now get some quick fixes for the DH4 over at A-Team Skunkworks. Go to the Beta models section and look for the DH4 update package. You would be able to do this if there was a enemy selection screen just like the selection screen for your flight. TK really needs to add this in a patch or Expansion Pack. Would be an incredible improvement :yes: -

As far as I know, no. The enemy is just radomly selected. So you'll have situations where a dog fight will envolve Fokker Dr.1's Vs. Italian Ansaldo SVA5's in northern France. -
Do downloaded aircraft appear as AI in Single Missions?

Any aircraft you have in your aircraft folder will appear in single missions. The problem is, they are selected at random for every new mission. You dont have any control over your enemy aircraft. They are selected by the service dates which they served but thats about it. This game definitely needs an "Enemy selection screen" for single missions. It should be the same as Your flight's selection screen but for enemy selection. Now there are so many planes and skins to use, it would be great to be able to select your enemy and different skins for the enemy flights. I hope TK will work on that . It would be an excellent addition. The only way to get a particular skin to show up for any plane in single missions is to make the wanted skin to be first in the particular aircraft's Configuration Settings file in that aircrafts' folder. Ex: I have "German Jasta 11" as the first aircraft in the DR.1 Config Settings file. So in single missions, if I'm flying say a Camel, my enemy will be a flight of Fokker Dr.1's of Jasta 11. This works as well for your own flight. If you want your default skin to be Jasta 11 Dr1's. So you wont have to scroll down in the loadout screen to find German Jasta 11 for every aircraft in your flight. But the down side to this is, I think, you'll always go up against Dr.1's of Jasta 11. -
I dont know why this is either. But it has happened to me a few times. Especially with the SPADS. I'll see a SPAD dogfighting one minute, get shot up, then just freeze in mid air. I think also it will start to fall very slowly. A fix for this would be nice.

As far as the DH4 goes, I'm working on a bunch of skins for it now. The flight model is a bit off but useable. Bombs appear and drop as they should. AI is ok too. So I'm doing 4 or 5 different Squadrons. Finished the painting of the plane now finishing up the decal placing. Have to create some black serial #'s that go on the rudder. Will post it soon for anyone who might want it. Again the flight model is still a little off, but Peter01 has touched it up a bit so it's useable. He said he would work on it again when he gets a chance. Thanks Peter01. Also I had mentioned over at SkunkWorks "Capun1950" that the shadow needs a small fix as well. He will look into it when he gets a chance. He's very busy now from what I understand. Thanks Capun. Firecage, Is there any others I could do for you? Before It really wasnt too clear which plane skins you wanted. Or needed. I know Plane Fest was already released, but I see some planes on the list that could use a somewhat decent skin.
