  1. Hey Laton I was wondering if you knew what to do about the white marks that appear around the starboard side of the cockpit when decals are added? Only the starboard side, strange. Here are my Flik 16 KD1 number decals. I'll post them as soon as we figure out abouth those marks. If we can.

  3. I'll try. The message I've been getting says "Attachment space used 8.06MB of 8.00MB" Thats with 1 Jpg image from my screen shots. No different than what I've done in the past. It seems to work for you though. I even tried from another computer. Same results. Here's what I just got trying to upload a screen shot: Attachment space used 8.06MB of 8MB Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space Just one jpeg screen shot

    Is it possible that each terrain could use two "airfield .ini" files? One for bombers with those take off coordinates and one for fighters and the stock takeoff coordinates. Or even create two takoff senarios in the one "aircraft.ini" file. The game recognizes bombers as being bombers and fighters as such. If you choose to use a bomber in single missions the game automatically produces a bomber mission senario. Same w fighters. Why not , when choosing a bomber or a fighter, have the "airfield.ini" select the proper takeoff formation. Just an idea. Seems possible. If anyone knows what I'm getting at.   8. Some more new effects

    Much better! I love the wood splinters falling away from planes when shot. They need to be made a wood color maybe. And the explosion effect when the planes are hit in the right place, awsome! Even the tracers are better. I noticed though that the ground artillery plumes are not so big anymore. Less smoke and less fire effect. I liked this better before I think. Now from altitude you only see small flashes from artillery. But all these new effects help make dogfighting more intense . Once agian thanks to both of you for the effects.
  9. They are all Jpegs. The same I've always used. Directly from the ingame screenshot section. I convert them to Jpegs. But no matter what size I make the file I get an error message saying the files too big. It has to be a problem CombatAce.

  12. Has anyone adjusted the landing position of AI aircraft. They land at or past the far end of airfield. Into trees. How or where do I change this so they land in or near the center of airfield? This has bugged me for a year now. I'm sure it's bugging others.

    You are right about that. :yes: The numbers should be anywhere around 0,0 (center of airfield) to 0,-200 (begining of airfield on approach). Thanks Tailspin.

    If I may add one more thing. I just flew a mission with 8 Gothas. As soon as we were jumped by 8 camels our escorts took them on. Which was cool to watch. But we were jumped seconds later by two more camels. Only two mind you. In a matter of 1 minute all Gotha pilots were shot dead including myself. So in one minute 8Gothas were shot down. And I dont recall if any gunners even fired any shots. What do you think? A little too vulnerable I would say. You know of a fix for this? They should be hard to shoot down no? I dont want it impossible to shoot them down, but there should be a middle ground. The flying Characteristics are very nice and the formations are very stable. The AI stay with me all the way to the target, drop their bombs, then return home. Its nice to Finally have a working Gotha

    Finally! I was hoping you would get to the Gotha. Thanks a bunch. I dont think you can change the spacing for take-offs. You can, but spreading out the bombers so they will not hit wingtips, would cause fighters spacing to be too far apart. The spacing is generalized for each airfield, not aircraft spacific. I think As far as the inflight formations go, they seem to remain in a nice formation. they dont zig-zag all over. The spacing seems ok too. Not too tight ,but not too loose. And they are spread out at different altitudes. I like it. They also have working bomb drops. Before was almost impossible to hit a target. If fighters were around the Gothas would break formation and try to dog fight. A little anoying. But that all seems to be fixed. I have one complaint. The flight model still has a nasty glitchy stall when in a steep climb. I know the Gotha would stall easily in a steep climb, but this causes the Gotha to freeze while in a climbing position and shutter with no functioning control input. I think if you could get the Gotha to stall and maybe drop its nose or dip a wing or something along those lines would be great. Have to hit Auto pilot to get out of stall or it takes along time to do it itself. Some times it will fall to the ground tail first. It is flyable dont get me wrong. It flys quite well acctually. Just watch out for that stall. It's great having a working Gotha. Now it's WWI with cool bombers thats for sure Again thanks Peter01. If it wasnt for your flight models I think my FE would be on the shelf.

  21. This might be a little morbid but I want to know if there is a way to keep the pilot from disappearing when shot. I would like to use a damaged pilot bitmap (blood and oil) with head down when the pilot is killed. I've tried altering files but nothing seems to work. 1. Is it possible? 2. If so, I want to use a damaged model (new bitmap) of the pilot when the game sense a kill. Instead of the pilot just diappearing maybe swap for new bit map with no head movement. So I guess my question is, how do I create a damage model of a pilot that the game can recognize? Sick I know,but would be cool
  22. I dont want to make a bloody mess of a dead pilot . I would like to know how to create a damaged pilot. One that can still make it home w some battle scars and an oily dirty face. I understand that the pilot config files are locked so people cant do this type of thing. But it wouldnt be a gorey mess. Just a realistic wounded pilot. I've tried a few things but nothing seems to work. If TK would or could unlock the pilots data that would be great. Even a dead pilot with this "damage" with his head locked in the down position would be very cool. Like I posted before, If my pilot can go down in a burning heap alive, why not just make a dead pilot? Maybe I'm just kicking at a dead horse hear .
  23. Just for the hell of it here are a few photos of my 1/4 scale Dr.1. It's supposed to be 425/17, but the numbers that came with it were Fok FI 102/17 I built it last year in early '08 before I knew anything about the Dr.1. Or any WWI plane for that matter. It's about 18lbs and has a 26cc gas engine. It was a kit. Just a big box of wood. Large sets of plan to build on. Was fun to build. Took about 3 months (and all my money). Looks so awsome flying and sounds pretty good too. Very hard to fly though. I guess that would be correct .
  24. I know the pic is a bit messy. I did it that so everyone could see it. It could be done on all planes and gunner positions. I was just wondering if that same "Holes" targa file can be used over a pilot bitmap file when pilot is damaged (shot). A different targa file of course.
