This is a Pack of 5 Fokker Dr.1's of Jasta 26. 1. Ltn. Fritz Loerzer (upper wing leading edge and center black) 2. Vzfw. Otto Esswein - Dr.1 426/17 (an "E" on Fuselage and upper wing center). 3. An "x" marking on fusalage as well as on upper wing center. Pilot and serial unknown. 4. A 3-point "star" shape on fusalage and possible on upper wing center section. Pilot and serial not known. 5. This Dr.1 "yellow stripe" appears in a photo of a Jasta 26 line up. It seems to have 2 colored bands around fusalage (Yellow?). And is said to have a "5" on the upper wing center section as well. Again pilot and serial are not known.I cant make out the "5" in the photo so mine is just a guess. **J26 Esswein and J26 x were posted already in the CombatAce download section** I just included them to make it easier to keep them all together. I did add Their personal markings to the upper wing center sections though. Enjoy, quack74 -
Thats odd. I've never had that problem before. Even with the Pfalz D.III skins I've done. Sorry I cant help with this one.

Oh MAN! Do I have to give a speech?! "I would like to thank the academy........." just kidding. Well I think we need a "late" war German two seater since there is already some early and mid. So how about the Halberstadt CL.IV? That was pretty successfull from what I've heard. Great at ground attack and ground support. Sorry CrazyHorse, but I went with the newer Halberstadt Thanks Laton.

"The First of Many" Funny. I added the new "narrowplt" to my Pup. But didnt change the position first. Looks like a crazy stunt. Not trying to win with this one. Just thought it would be a good one to share.

This ramming and colliding stuff has got to stop!!!!! Has anybody fixed this yet???? Everybody is getting inihilated only seconds into the dogfight. I know people have complained about this before. Thats why I ask if anyone has fixed this problem. The AI loves colliding. Saves bullets I guess

Here is some of 87a Squadriglia. Kind of hard to get a good red banner against the wood fuselage. But I think it'll do. Just working on a number decal for the Tail. I'll post them when done. There are three different kinds. 87a plain tailed 87a star tailed 87a white tailed w red elevators. Not 100% on the correct colors of course, but close.

Hey Laton, would you be able to tell me the coordinates of the VertTail for decal placement? I cant seem to place a decal on the tailfin. Cant get the coords right. It's longer than most thats for sure. //// Forget it Laton, I got it ///////

Hi guys. sorry I havnt been on for a few days. But to clarify a bit, I really do experiance a lot of AI collisions. Most campaigns or single missions with big furballs, I am the only one to return home. As soon as my flight engages the enemy a hand full collide right away. I understand there were lots of collisions, for real, but between all the collisions and others being shot down my flights are being desimated. Too me it's just a little too much. All my settings are set to hard. All I really wanted to know is there any way to cut back on the ramming? Even just a little? I dont blame anyone. Especially not pete01. Sorry peter01 . I also just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem. I think I'm just being too critical of this game. It's just frustrating when you fly a mission and everyone is killed. A bit unrealistic. Mostly due to the ramming when the engagement starts. I can live with it. If others arent having the same kind of problem then thats ok w me. I dont want to take up too much time with this . But thanks for your input though.

Scratch everything I said before I found some real photos. You were right. The color profile I found was wrong. :umnik2: Sorry about that Laton.

Hey Laton, in some photos I've seen, I think the teardrop shaped upper wing strut mounts on the fuselage appear to be higher. About where the metal cowling meets the wood fuselage. I noticed this when trying to add the "70" marking to skin I was working on. The photos show the "70" bigger and higher. But with the mounts so low I cant get it 100%. I could be very wrong or the color profile I saw could be wrong. If so I'm sorry But see what you think. If it's even possible to change at this time anyway. I can make do either way. Not that big a deal. Still an awsome model no matter what. Thanks for the compliments

Here's one I am working on. Just need to fix the "70" on fuselage. It belongs to the Italian 70a Squadriglia circa 1918. Any info or comments please feel free. Thanks Laton for the model and original skin.

Crashed plane effects question....
quack74 replied to Tailspin's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I agree w you 100% on that Tailspin. Thats a needed effect. It would also be cool if the plane's pieces would remain on the ground w the smoke after impact. The planes fall apart in the air why not also hitting the ground? That being said ( not to venture to far from the main topic at hand) is there a way to keep the plane from exploding on the ground when the wing tips hit the ground. Ex: when taxiing and turning a little sharp or even landing a little too hard and the wing tips just touch the ground the planes explode. How do you change this? Sorry this probably should have been on a different thread. But yeah longer smoke time for sure! -
Cant wait to get my hands on it . By the way what year or years was it in action? Did it fight against the Phonix?
-
Well if everyone else is ok with it than maybe it is just me. I just find it quite anoying. I'm usually the only one that makes it home. Even with air activity set to heavy. I know collisions happen. Just the inability for the AI to turn before ramming seems abit off. Oh well, Thanks guys. Oh yeah, what about the formations at take-off. Anyone know how to fix this? Getting them to form up much faster.
-
Hi bucky All my settings are set to hard. But 80% of the time when the formations merge to dogfight, half of them crash into eachother. Than as the dogfighting continues more ramming goes on and sometimes I'll get rammed by the enemy and by my own. It just happens way too much. It's kind of a letdown when you start from takeoff only to reach the enemy 15mins or more later to see everyone crash head-on. Maybe it's just me but I thought I saw a thread about this problem. The AI just doesnt know not to kill its self. WWII maybe but not so much WWI . Also whats with the AI on takeoff? My Jasta seems to all fly away from me until the next waypoint. Even when I give command to rejoin. So I need to circle for a bit so they all catch up. Very time consuming I know there is something that can be done about formations but I'm not sure what.
