I created a batch of 20 random Pfalz D.III serial number decals to be used on the D.III in game. Each plane in a flight will now have its own number. But my problem is, they show up, but only sometimes. In one mission I'll have 4 D.III all with different serial numbers. The next mission they wont have any. I also noticed sometimes only 1 D.III will have the number out of a flight of 4. I know the game randomly selects decals with a level 2. But how do I get the decal to appear all the time and not just randomly appear? Below is my decal config. It all seems right to me. Do I need to create more decals so there is more of a selection maybe? (I put the decals in the games main decal folder. Thats why there is no path in the FileFormat. It works both ways) [Decal022] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=SERIAL Position=-3.20,0.0200 Scale=0.8 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal023] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=SERIAL Position=-3.20,0.0200 Scale=0.8 DecalMaxLOD=3

Check the "Decal .ini" for the Pfalz and Schuckert. Located in /First Eagles/objects/ aircraft/PfalzD3/pic a skin folder/ open decal .ini/check path for each decal so it reads the full path. Ex: [Decal001] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=PfalzD3/Jasta16B/D/Comet <------ this is the full path for decals to work Position=-2.1521,0.0700 Scale=2.5 DecalMaxLOD=3 This might be your problem.

Pfalz D.III And D.IIIa of Jasta 4
quack74 posted a topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
File Name: Pfalz D.III And D.IIIa of Jasta 4 File Submitter: quack74 File Submitted: 04 Mar 2009 File Updated: 01 Jun 2010 File Category: Pfalz Skins This is a Jasta 4 skin pack for the Pfalz D.III and D.IIIa. there is one skin template for each model. All the custom markings(colors) are all created by decals. There are very limited photos of Jasta4 Pfalz aircraft so I mixed some D.III and D.IIIa color schemes together. The end result is a nice colorful Jasta. The colors and markings are based off of original photos. So they're close. Now when you use (or fly against) these Jasta4 Pfalz D.III's and D.IIIa's you will see all these markings at random. All the time. Thanks to the SFP1 Dev A-Team for the original Pfalz D.III and D.IIIa models. And thanks to Capu1950 for permission to post new skin work. Skin and decals by quack74. Any problems please ONLY contact me not A-Team through PM or in the CombatAce forums. Enjoy quack74 Click here to download this file -

I think I solved it . I think I just didn't have enough decals. I only had about 30 or so for SERIAL #'s and Personal. I created 99 SERIALs and 80 personals. Now they both appear all the time. I forgot the game also uses the decals for the Stationary D.IIIs. That would eat up the decal inventory as well. I also notice the game cycles through the decal folder I think every three missions. Or maybe it depends on the number of D.III's you use. Anyway it seems to work now. Thanks everybody for your input. It's nice to know you all want to help . You will be able to use the "Personal" decals in the game decal folder or use the ones in the Pfalz aircraft folder ("D"). You would just need to change the wording in the Decal Config File for whatever skin you use. The "D" folder contains some game decals and some I re colored and made. More black. Looks good for the Pfalz I think anyway. I'll explain more in the readme files when I post the new skins. Again thanks everybody. And Heck, It was kind of a "Duh" thing. Just needed more decals

Hey all. I have been working on a few Pfalz D.III skins. They are pretty much for generic use. Only because of the lack of good Jasta photos and because almost every D.III looked different. Due to the nature of the model being so distorted on the skin template, it's almost impossible to do many custom skins. But check this out . I've made it possible for the D.III to utilize the game generated markings. National as well as Personal. I know the markings on Pfalz's were zig zaging and loaded w stripes. But for now the game markings look pretty good. Not historicaly correct, but they'll due. Right? A whole lot of time went into figuring out the decals and their positioning. So I hope you like them. I put most of the "PersonalA" markings in the "D" folder in the Pfalz directory. I took away most of the smaller decals so more stripes would appear. And I created random serial numbers ( D.III 4223/17) and so on. About 20 I think. They will appear randomly. So not every plane is exactly the same. Lot of work! But the problem is, since I have'nt seen any good photos of any flight lines, I kind of made up a couple of Jastas to use in the game. Along with the all white and Lozenged D.III's from the download. Tweaked them a bit (weathering and such) I made a Jasta 10, Jasta 4, and a Jasta 30. Again I dont know about the accuracy at all. So before I post all this in the download section I would like some input from you guys. If they're good enough than thats great. If not, no problem. Remember I'm trying to create a Jasta Skin not an individual ace skin. So everybody can use different D.III's. Remember, the markings now work with the mission dates. Have a look, (the Jasta 4 is all decal work so be gentle ) If someone else already did this with the Pfalz D. III then, holy crap! Jasta 10 has yellow Jasta 4 blue tail and blk stripes Jasta 30 orange diamonds And a Jasta 7 to show national markings

What is the animation Stuff? What does it do? And what if I created more decals?

Sounds good. Thks Heck. I'll give him a shout. Your right about it probably being something so simple. Makes you say duh.

I dont have a numbers.lst I've seen it done though. Do I need it? but again why wont the game generate the decals for a second mission. They do work for the first mission. Something is missing here. My Decal numbers all start at 001. All my other decals show up all the time (stripes and individual markings) on the D.IIIs. Just not my serial #'s or Personal . The Diamond on the side of my Jasta 30 D.III is a decal. It appears all the time. That decal is in the "D" folder in the Pfalz D.III aircraft folder. Just like my personal and serial. Why would that one appear w out problems?
