  1. I believe the Bristol Scout models are now available at Skunkworks (out of Beta). The packages are for FEG for now. But they will work for FE2. The only things that are different are the "Hangar Screens" (I think). Capun1950 said he will post a FE2 package aswell as soon as he gets the chance. Thanks Capun1950 and the Skunkworks' A-Team for your work. For those of you that dont know where to find the Bristol Scouts here is the link. You'll need to get a password from Capun1950 to download the models. It's easy and might only take a day or two. But it's well worth the wait. There are many other WWI models to chose from. You'll find the Scouts under WWI Planes. http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ All updated flight models and add-on skins can be found here at CombatAce under /Downloads/First Eagles 1 & 2/ Skins or Add-on aircraft Enjoy
  2. Sorry guys, but I found a mistake with the tail decals. There were two decals numbered incorrectly. So it would make a couple decals to appear out of order. I believe it was only for the Jasta4 PfalzD3 not 3a. So for those of you who already downloaded the latest Jasta4 skin pack here is the fixed "D" decal folder. Just overwrite the existing one. Again this is only for the D3 of Jasta4. Sorry about that. After making a couple hundred decals for one plane my eyes get a bit tired BTW I did fix the main download as well EDIT: Well I found another misplaced decal. SORRY again guys. I know 10 of you already downloaded the first fix. Well here's a new one. The below attachment is new as of June 2. It's the "D" folder for PfalzD3a of Jasta 4.
  3. Yeah I figured it was still too dark. I'll touch them all up when Release the othe skins.
  4. Has anyone else realized that the stock aircraft configuration settings.ini files cant be altered in FE2. I've unpacked all files and placed them into my //User//Saved Games// objects/ aircraft/ folders and everything works just fine. I can alter DATA.ini, add skins and add-on aircraft but the sim wont let me alter the Config Settings for all stock aircraft. I changed the Shadow cast distance and the TextureSet positon to have custom skins at [001] position. but as soon as I start the game all is reverted back to default settings. What gives????? Does anyone know what's up with this? Is it just me, or is this the way TW programed FE2? Better not be!
  5. These are the skins I submitted to Skunkworks. There will be more I'll post here at CombatAce. If there is something you see that needs to be changed colorwise (Bucky), I still can fix things. It's not in stone. But this is what I ended up with. the pics are in order from C1, C, D1, D:
  6. No, I didnt quit. Just needed a break. It was a PITA to paint these. And there was a lot of decaling. I think I did the best I could with them. I made all the changes you recommended too Bucky. Thanks for the help . I did all those other Albatros and Pfalz skins in the mean time.
  7. My Scout package was sent to Skunworks today. I finally finished it. So It's in their court now. There will be one skin per model (C, C1, D, D1). The others I'll post here at CombatAce. It will still take awhile I'm sure because each model needed some fixing. And Capun and his team are busy these days. So we'll have to wait a bit I'm sure. But the ball is still rolling I just wanted you guys to know .
  8. Ok the "National" markings didnt work out they way I hoped. So for now there still is the white outline around the Insignias. I just posted the Jasta 4 skins and decals. I posted them under my old Jasta4 Pfalz D.III download. So it's on page 2 I think in the Pfalz skin download section. It will say "Edited" But it's all new inside. Enjoy!
  9. Thanks Christian59. I wish I could do a lot more. But it's sooo time consuming. It takes a long time to make them. I'll do a couple more though. What we need is an Enemy selection screen. Just like the "Loadout" screen. Then, for single missions, you can choose your enemy and select available custom skins for each enemy aircraft. It would be the same as what I'm doing just much easier. But thats up to TK at thirdwire. Would make for a great addition in a patch or an Expantion pack. If any of you are familiar with IL-2, this option is in it. You can select your enemy and their skins. I love that feature. Keeps things exciting. I'm doing it the hard way
  10. Ahhh. I was waiting for someone to mention that. Well the stock decals for German markings change 3 times. TK has programed the decaling by dates to change the national markings. If I just create a eisern kreuz decal without the white border, it wouldnt change in mid to late 1918 to the baulken creuz. But..... I figured out that I can use dates to make a "Start Date" and an "End Date" in the decal config file. So funny you should mention this now. Because I'm going to try it out for these Jasta 4 D.III's. Believe me, it's been bugging me too. I'll fix it. But now the problem is, ALL the Pfalz decal configs will have to be changed. Any Pfalz decal called "Insignia", "Tail" , and "Fuse" will have to be changed. Will be very time consuming. I'll figure something out. BTW, the above pics are of D.III's. But the markings are a mix of D.III's and D.IIIa's. I mixed them up to get a good amount of personal markings. The D.IIIa I'll post to will be the same. I hope you all dont mind. Not 100% accurate but they look good.
  11. Just some pics of Jasta4 Pfalz D.III's. It's one skin template with random decals to create multiple skins. Most are real markings. There will be about 10 mixed in with the stock Jasta 4 markings. This is a WIP so it should be ready for DL soon.
  12. Is the dash going to stay grey? Was that how it was? Just asking. Either way it looks great!
  13. I dont understand the problem some have with downloading from Skunkworks. All you need to do is ask Capun1950 for a password via e-mail. I cant imagine he would say no to some and not others. Unless ofcourse he knows you and you're a plane steeler . It's tough supplying free stuff to people that takes a lot of hours to create. So I understand why he doesnt mess around. But he's a cool guy. Send a nice message (request for password) and just follow their rules. Shouldnt be a problem. It might take a day or two for him to get the message. Just be patient. He'll respond.
  14. Are you getting the same results w both installs? FE2 is very different than FEG. As far as installing objects.
  15. I believe ShrikeHawk might be working on that. I did mention to him about his cloud altitude for FE.
  16. Are you using FEG or FE2?
  17. These are some pics of my sky in FE2: Sorry if there is too many pics, but it's the only way to get a feel for sky mods. This last one is an awsome shot! I think so anyway.
  18. Hello Javigato. Here is what I'm using. SkyMod done by Polak for SFP1 back in '05. And it still looks good to me. I use the "HORIZONCLOUDS" with my stock FE2 "EnvironmentSystems.ini". There are a few choices for different types of clouds. They're all pretty good. And I'm using "CoudSkins2" by ShrikeHawk in SFP2 made in March 2010. This has a bunch of the lower level "Puffy" clouds. But they really dont look puffy. They have more of a cloud look and a bit more color and depth to them. These two can be found in the SFP1&2 download section. There are a few good ones in FE download aswell. But like Migbuster said, it's really trial and error. I had to mix and match for awile to find good results. Still not 100% happy, but they look good.
  19. I could be wrong too Wildfowler, but I think the solid object add-on might be for FE2 conversion. I have FEG and just upgraded to FE2. When using Jan's terrain I found that the solid objects in his terrains like telephone poles and sheds were surrounded by white backgrounds. This was a problem with the .tga files that they were drawn on. So I installed the Solid objects patch (I guess it's a patch) and poof, all the solid white backgrounds were gone. Again I could be wrong. But thats what it did for me. And there is nothing about it in the Readme file. So I guess you should send JanTuma a PM. P.S. Raden is 100% right about backing up any file you are about to change. I learned this the hard way. I have a seperate folder on my desktop for "original FEG stuff".
  20. Well I finally crossed the street to FE2. I think I figured most of it out already. Not bad at all. My question is, are any of you "Effects" guys updated any of your effects packs that were available for FEG? I've noticed that things cant just be copied and pasted from FEG to FE2. Perameters are a bit different. Like tracer smoke and exaust. Some explosions. A bunch of things.
  21. SORRY guys. The above download had 20 .tga's in it. I only meant to put 3. The dowload in the first thread has been updated. For those of you that already installed the 20 .tga's into your "Decal" folder, delete all of them except for TAIL004, TAIL019, and TAIL020. These are the German Insignias. The original download would have given you Roundels on the rudders and vertical stabilizers. Woops, sorry about that.
  22. I've noticed that the late style German crosses seem to wash out the rudders and vertical Stabilizers. I was told that some people had to rename the "FilenameFormat=TAIL" to "FilenameFormat=INSIGNIA" in German aircrafts' skin folders Decal.ini files. This works but would take forever if you had to do this for every skin in every aircraft folder. So I just copied the "INSIGNIA.tga's" and renamed them Tail004, TAIL019, TAIL020,etc,etc. And placed them right into the main Decal folder. This way the game will see these new "TAIL" decals first and place them on any aircraft that uses the "FilenameFormat=TAIL" decal. Instructions are in the Readme file inside......Hope it's not just me that sees this problem. Fly a Pfalz D.IIIa in the summer of 1918. Look at the rudder.
  23. Wow, what a PITA! There is a whole lot of files to change over. Argh I'm going to have to change some things around for all my skins that I posted here. I have a nice easy fix for all the FEG planes that are now in FE2 that use the National Insignias. Since the "TAIL".tga for the rudder is all white background, I'll post new Insignias from FE2 that are renamed "Tail" to place into your new FE2 "Decals" folder. That way you wont have to change every "FilenameFormat" in each aircraft skin Decal.ini from transfered FEG aircraft. Hope you know what I'm gettin at. I'll post it tonight
