Damn! Sorry PCM and everyone else. I forgot about those. I've been busy creating an Italian front campaign for everyone. I just have to do some decal work on those No.60 Sqn S.E.5's. I'll have them up tomorrow.

Some more pics of Austrian-Italian Campaign
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Thank you all very much. This campaign is quite amazing. I cant seem to finish it because I end up messing with more .INI files and skins. I've added soo many objects to the Vogesen terrain. All balloon positions have multiple objects around and so do all the AAA positions. Troops, trucks, wagons, barrels, etc, etc. The airfields are very populated now with trucks (Red Cross trucks and wagons too). I even messed with the WWI_Airfield1.ini in the Vogesen terrain to put some parked aircraft on the other side of the airfields. The southern front in the Vogesen terrain has all the action. Huge active battlefield. Lots of guns, troops, trucks, AAA, Wagons, etc, etc. I'll have to include 2 Vogesen_Targets.ini's. One with very dense object placement and one not so dense. It does eatup the framrates on lesser PC's. Mine is boarderline. It is incredible to fly over the mountains with an Austrian Flik studded with aces, only to be jumped by SPAD7's of Squadriglia 77a or Hanriot HD-1's of Squadriglia 85a also full of ace skins. All the correct names appear when you lock on to a target. You just might be jumped by Flik41J being led by Godwin Brumowski's red D.IIIOef. Or his wing man Frank Linke-Crawford, all the while you are trying to knock the Italian bombers out of the sky. It's really good stuff. I included the French squadron of N561 equiped with the Nieuport 24bis's. Their job was to protect the southern most edge of the front around Venice. If any of you know of N561, there where multiple custom markings on the their fuselage sides. Google French N561 in Italy. It's going to be so hard to package this campaign. So many files. -
Some more pics of Austrian-Italian Campaign

A handful of Hanriot HD-1 aces and added airfield objects: The first pick is Capt William (Billy) Barker with No.28 Squadron and the second pic is of No.139 Squadron F2b's. I'm going to leave out the 139 Sqn planes because the Squadron wasnt formed until the summer of 1918. And Barkers Camel in 139 Sqn was the only one. But take note of the populated airfields. There are a couple of skins that were done by others. Their credits will be in the readme files. -

Problems Loading Mods in Fe2 Win7 64
quack74 replied to sinbad's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Sinbad I have Win7 64bit and everything works fine. I think your problem is you created a folder called MODS and put things in there. In your /SavedGames/ThirdWire/FE2/ folder structure you should have a folders for each object or mod you want to install. Not just one folder. /SavedGames/ThirdWire/FE2/ Objects/ (Aircraft-GroundObjects-Decals-Guns-Weapons) /SavedGames/ThirdWire/FE2/ Effects/ """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" ''/ Terrains/ """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" / Sounds/ """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" / Flight/ etc, etc. Of course when you unpack all the security files this is where you put all the unpacked files. You will need to create most of these new folders like the Sounds folder and the Effects folder. Also the Decals folder inside the FE2/ Objects/ Decals/ has to be made. I hope you understand what I wrote here. I'm on the fly right now. I have to get back to work. But I think this might be your problem. We'll talk later. -
Since it has bee quiet around here lately I figured I would show some more pics of my Austria-Italy ( Battle of Caporetto) campaign. Still A few more things to Iron out. But there will be a hand full of aces you'll encounter with the correct skins too. The campaign uses Gepard's Vogesen terrain with Jan Tuma's visual upgrade. Absolutely beautiful! The seasonal changes in the mountains is stunning. I love using this campaign. Note I've also been placing ground forces along the front. And adding more things around balloon bases and airfields. I've been adding these objects directly into the Vogesen_Targets.ini. so they will always be there. I think the hardest part is going to be doing all the readme files for installing this campaign. There are sooo many custom aircraft and skins, terrain alterations, new Nations.ini for a new Italian Insignia (green outer roundel), and ground objects ( all from Geo's site which I'll include in a readme). Everything I have installed I will try to include to make it a great looking campaign for you all. But I cant add certain files for all the planes. Like .LOD (3D mesh) files. Because they are from a different company (Skunkworks). So I can only include the aircraft folders with the .bmp's and .tga's but no guts. So it's going to make for a confusing download I'm afraid. But my line is always open. Ask and I'll help you through it. It is well worth it.

Hmmm. Make sure the Decal.ini Text all have the correct path names. And check to see what the DecalMaxLOD is set to. I've had to set all mine to =4. The distance that decals appear is a bit more sensitive with FE2 I've noticed. [Decal002] MeshName=WingTop_TL DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=DH-4/No 202 Sqdn/D/INSIGNIA <-------- Here Position=-5.15,0.1 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 <---------- And here Make sure the correct Decal folder is in the main /Objects /Decals/ DH-4/ No 202 Sqn/ D/ I did have a problem with my No.202 Sqn DH-4 custom skin N5779 (with the blk profile on the tail fin. That profile decal wasnt showing up when I changed from FE1 to FE2. Something did have to be changed. I'm pretty sure it was the DecalMaxLOD. Thats all I can think of.

Peter01's FMs are a must if you ask me. The AI is incredible in Hard mode. I even found some AI aircraft, like a SPAD7 I was in the ring with, would actually spiral down to get away only to level off before becoming a pancake. It was incredible to watch. I thought I got him too. Joke was on me I guess. Good stuff Peter01

Well I for one would love a new terrain. But.... FE lacks any ships and seaplanes. Also there are no Russian aircraft other than some Nieuports and SPAD's. The terrain would be beautiful I'm sure. If anything make a northern Italy (Venician) terrain. Or Austrian Alps. As you know thats what I've been waiting for. But that's just me:grin:

FE has always had the default clear sky appearing at random. No matter how much you change the EnvironmentSystems.ini. I dont know why this happens. Must be in the programing. I have a modded sky system aswell. But every now and then I get the stock ugly clear sky with the solid horizon line to appear. But not too much. So I just deal with it. For some reason I think TW has programed Clear to be a default. No other sky settings do this. Only clear. I think some other guys have tried to get rid of it too. But that was a no go as far as I know. Try over at ThirdWire forums under FE2. Maybe TK can answer this for you. After all he made it:grin:

Isnt that from a comic book?
-
A couple of aces. Barraca and Brumowski. Some ace skins I'm working on along with others.
-
I made all the decals for the Albatros D.IIIOef's. They are random personal markings from different Fliks. Just like FE uses random personal markings. I havnt posted ant skins for Skunkworks' DIIIOef's yet. I have a lot more work to do on all of them.

Lol. I'm pretty much done with the N.16 in camo. But there was a shadow bug coming from the upper lewis gun mount. I dont know how since it's carried over from the N.11 which is just fine. I aked Monty CZ about this. I think I just have to make the serial numbers (99 of them). You gave me the numbers already Bucky. Thanks for those. I should have it out soon. I've been busy with the can-of-worms called my Austrian-Italian Campaign:grin: . I'm going to be busy getting all the ace skins made and placed. Will be worth it though. Vogesen terrain looks beautiful w Jan Tuma's upgrade.
-
Well Bucky since I might be making this campaign run from late summer 1917 to early 1918, I definitaly will do some N.17's, 24's and 27's. Since there is a limit of aircraft that are available, I have to find a time frame that has the most planes. I'll have to make a few "hacks" as well. Especially for two-seaters. But it's all coming together nicely so far. Still messing with the "StrategicNodes" from the Vogesen_Targets.ini to place extra ground objects like Allied and German squads (from Geo's site). Kind of having trouble getting it right. Even doing some new balloons. Need some Italian ones.
-
Well I'm using FE2 now so I dont know the compatability with campaigns for FEG. But it will be for FE2

Great stuff Jan Tuma:good:

Lol Heck. If you plan on getting shot down, dont fight over the mountains. The valleys and low land fields is where you might want to loiter.

Pfalz markings and Staaken formations
quack74 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
You're very welcom mppd. I hope you can figure it all out to get it to work. It was the easiest way I could come up with. -
I just posted new Pfalz D.III skins of Jasta 10. The file I updated was the 6-pack of Jasta 10 Pfalz D.III's. It's now an 11-pack.

View File Pfalz markings and Staaken formations This is a bit much I know. But if you like the Pfalz D.III types then this will be good for you. I've created a way to utilize the game generated National marking system (with marking changes for the Germans in March 1918) while using new "Pfalz" markings without the white boarders (for some Jasta's anyway). I had to create new "Nations" for each Pfalz Jasta that uses different markings. Ex: Plain Silver Grey will use the "Germany_Pfalz" nation which will create black iron crosses (no white boarders). And for instance Jasta 77b will use the "Gemany_Pfalz_Lozenge_White" nation which will have white boarders on the wings but not on the fuselage and tail. All in all I think I made 4 new "Nations" for the Pfalz. You have to use the new decals that are in my "Decals" folder for this to work. Drop them into your "Decals" folder. It just sounds complicated.... because it was :) Anyway I've included folders with all the files you'll need. Really all it is is a copy and paste task for you. Just follow the folder structure thats in my download and follow the readme files. Ex: Create the new "Nations" folder. And put the new "Nations.ini" into it. Thats all. *** Staaken & HP400 Formation *** I've also created a "WWI_AIRFIELD1.ini" for the Staakens and HP400. Their wingspan is too big to use the GothaGIV formations that I posted at CombatAce. I've created a new "Nation" for the Staaken called "Germany_Bombers" for the Staaken only. And I also created a new "RAF_Bombers" nation for the HP400. In the HP 400 and Staaken's DATA.ini and each of their skins' "TextureSet" the nation name should be changed from "Germany" to "Germany_Bombers" or "RAF" to "RAF_Bombers". This way the game will find the new formation setup (thats included in this download), for these particular bombers. Enjoy, quack74 Edit: 9/11/10: I added an "Italy2" to the Nations.ini and the Decals folder. It will make Italian markings with a green outer and red inner roundel. Any aircraft you want to use for ITALY just change the texture folder's TextureSet.ini to Nation=ITALY2. Now you have two Italian markings.
