Flight model for Skunkworks Alb D.IIIoef

Some pics of Flik 63J Albatros D.IIIOef's (stripes on tail and star on wheel hubs) -
First I need to say most of this skin work was created by SH71 in '07. I just made a couple of new ones. I've reworked all the available Gotha skins and made a couple more of my own with bits and pieces of others. I've removed all the painted on markings so they all now use the game generated markings. I also created new tailnumbers for the Night version (white outlines). There are a few skins from Kagohl 3 plus one generic and a night camouflage version to go along with the MOROTAS skin. I'll post these all soon. For anyone who doesnt know, the Gotha can be found at http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ in the WWI section. A password is needed. I just got tired of not having the Late markings for the Gothas

You like your Lewis

That's what I need Just finishing up the Bristol Scout skins and some AlbatrossD.IIIOef's too. I'm also doing some reworks to the Gotha's. A couple of Day schemes and a couple of Night schemes. I'll post all of these soon. Then I'll get on those Neiuports. Give me about a week and I'll have some for you guys BTW EmID, do those UV's work for both the Ne24 and the Ne27?
-
I think I'm good for now with pics. I'll just do a couple of generic camo skins to start. What I would like though are the UV maps of both planes. It would be nice to be able to see where the fuselage sides meet the upper decking . As of now all the skins are just solid grey. I dont know where the lines are. So it will take awhile doing angled camo to wrap around the fuselage. The wings aren't a problem. But thank you EmID . But I might ask you later for some custom Ne24 and 27 camo skins.

Hey all . This is good stuff. We all know sometimes an aircraft will explode in mid air leaving this fire and smoke effect suspended where the explosion took place. However, if any of you use a new "balloon fire effect" I think done by Stary (not sure), You'll notice the fire and smoke effect of the destroyed balloon seems to have a gravity effect. It will burn and smoke falling to the ground slowly then disappear. I dont know too much about effects perameters, but does someone know if a "weight" perameter could be added to the crash fire and smoke effect to make it fall to 0 altitude? Having suspended smoke p,lumes at 2000ft in the middle of some good dogfights is kind of anoying Just a thought.

Are they all backwards???? I havnt noticed. I'll have to take a close look. If they are it would be impossible to fix for everyone. I can fix the ones I'll release though. Before I release these Jasta 11 D.III's I need to make a generic early Jasta 11 and a late (all red fuselage) Jasta 11. Then you could use them along with the few ace skins I'll put out. I'll include in the readme file on how to install these generic skins like they were individual aircraft. So there would be an aircraft folder AlbatrosD3 (stock with all other skins) and an AlbatrosD3 J11 (new all red Jasta 11). The AC folder that reads AlbatrosD3 J11 will only have the new generic Jasta 11 skin in it. That way I can alter the service date in the _DATA.ini to appear ONLY after late April 1917. I even made an early Jasta 11 D.III aircraft folder that only has the early J11 D.III generic skin in it (plain fuselage with red wheels and nose). Gets confusing but it's really easy to do. I do it with all my generic skins. This way If I'm in a Camel in a single mission I can be engaged by Albatros D.III's from Jasta 12 and also by D.III's from Jasta 11, and so on and so on. If you do it enough you never know what jasta or Squadron you'll come up against. The planes that would appear were always at random but the skin of those plane were always the same. So I changed it. I got tired of always seeing Jasta 11 Fokker Dr.1's. I'm going on aren't I? Anyway you get the idea. It almost should be a sticky. I was actually thinking of making Jasta 11 generic D.III's with random personal markings of color for the Nose and Elevators using a red fuselage. Might be a cool way to go.

Almost forgot about those I think they're about done. I might have to touch up a couple of them. I need to make up a readme file for them all. I'll try and get them posted ASAP. Thanks for reminding me.

As if waiting for your child to be born isnt stressfull enough. Hope you're doing ok Laton

No problem. I'd be happy to. Any particular ones in mind? Does anybody have some skins in mind for the N24/N27's. The grey does get a bit boring thats for sure. I'll see what good ones I can scrounge up. I do have to finish up the Scouts too. And now I have the D.IIIOef fever Lots of nice skins for those. Skins for WWI aircraft are never ending.

Just wondering if anyone has made or thought of making an Avaitik-Berg D.1. Would be nice to have some more aircraft for Austro-Hungarian missions. I know there is no real map to use. But there are a lot of Italian aircraft and not so much Austrian. Just the Hansa KD1 by Laton. And now a make shift model of an Albatros D.IIIoef is available. When I use Italian or Austrian aircraft I usually use the Vogesen terrain because it has the mountains. And now with the new terrains by Jan, Vogesen looks so much better in the winter. I like using the Phonix KD1 in this terrain. So more aircraft the better. I actually am going to add another install of FE (a copy of the one I have). This install will only have Italian and Austrian aircraft. Or aircraft that were used by the Italian and Austrians with the correct skins. And I'll mainly use the Vogesen terrain. That way in my first install I can get rid of those aircraft and skins that dont really belong and put them into my second install. I never liked flying the FokkerDr.1 up against the Italian SVA's or British SE5's against Hansa-Phonix's. You get the picture. Anyway, Some new Austrian aircraft would be nice. I would do it if I could, but I cant. So I rely on you other guys with MAX skills. You've all made some awsome models already. What's one more Here's what D.I looks like for anyone that want's to know:

LOL! Really though, the first battle of Britain would be a great addition. Lots of good intercept missions and more skins for me Since there are so many early war aircraft now and campaigns, the Zepplins would also be an awsome addition. Where's P10ppy? Hope he's ok or hope he just didnt lose interest .
-
Is there an updated FM for the AlbatrosD.IIIoef from the Skunkworks? It is a new release as a flyable aircraft. It was a static aircraft first. You can see it in the Flanders Terrain as a parked aircraft. Would be good to make a few Austrian skins out of it.
-
Me Too. Home defense missions would be great. Gothas look out

Crazy...right?

You're very welcome. I enjoy doing it. I live about 2 hours from the aerodrome and I've never been there. I have been to car shows on the Fairgrounds down the road from it. But never took the extra 2 minutes to ride over to look at the planes. The people I've gone with really arent into "ugly"old planes . But with so many accidents in the last couple of years who knows about their future. It must cost them a fortune just in insurance. Really sad.
-
Wow, I didnt know it was a resto. That is pretty sad. Dont know about the pilot. Hope he's ok.
-
Holly! A Camel too? At the same aerodrome. Also last year a volunteer pilot was killed in a Ne.27 crash there. http://www.youtube.c...4nthF8_xEk&NR=1 I guess Rhinebeck aerodrome is the place to see some action:dntknw:
