  2. November 1915 Misty morning on Flanders Oh poor fellows there! Artois offensive bogged down. Finally happy day for Henri!Three Aviatik over No-Man-Land and he got hits on them all.Capitaine Hullier saw one crashing to German side.First confirmed victory!
  3. November 15 Paul Schneider transfered N113.Replacement should be arrive soon. Third Battle of Artois continue.Losses are extremely high and gaining ground are nonexistent. Whole October was muddy are rainy.Flights were always when weather allow it.Contacts with Boche however, was not. The consolation was that Nieuport was much better plane than Morane. Now there was little possibility gain victories when you have forward shooting machine gun! Chief mechanic Jacques Neuville changing a tire from Henri Castillac's plane.
  4. Sorry for your loss ,AlbertTross! AA is really thick near Phalempin,i am noticed!

  7. October 15 There was little surprise in Savy when Henri get there. That evening was a celebration and other pilots require to know details Henri's adventures. -Was a food better than us?Was a Sauerkraut and Bratwurst popular?Questions like this rained all night. And so Henri told the whole story, finally he underssed Sanitär clothes and left most dangerous part: No-Man-Land!
  8. September 23 The day begins brighter than the previous ones. Patrol over the Loos.Three Aviatiks appeared. They turned eastward immediately when they noticed us.We catch them anyway.I spend two drum my target. In the heat of the battle i drifted too east and too down.Enemys infantry ruins in Lens shot violently.Engine hit!I broke away. The bullet hit the left thigh. With the last strength i succeeded to land on the Boche's field. I was taken to a military hospital at Douai.I spend there over two weeks.Luckily only a flesh wound. After recovering i ended up in a prison camp. After only being there for a day i found the Sanitäre's clothes. They helped me get to the no-man-land and finally home.
  9. Okay,thanks!More simple fix than i excepted.
  10. September 20-2 The Battle of Artois raging. Every day rainy and flights are performed at night time. Boche falling!

  12. September 15 1915 Savy Aerodrome,Flanders A truck swayed and finally stopped in the front of the Officer's mess. A lonely officer left out of the car.A group of officers came against the briefcases in their hands. A lieutenant shake rookies hand and said: -Ah,you are the guy.Keep up the high spirit of Chevalier Escadrona!Sergeant Saumande stay with you .You get familiar with everything. Bonne chance,Mon ami! The officers and their servants boarded the truck. Knock Knock! -Come in!You must be Sous Lieutenant... -Castillac,Henry Castillac,Sir! -Exactly.I am Capitaine Thayne Huillier. As you saw it and hear the few rumour probably, here comes little changes.Two-seater Moranes are put into training use. Our whole name change MS15 to N15. A series of brand new Nieuport 10's will come in the coming days. -Is that type a familiar to you? -No,Sir.I have fly only Moranes. There were no others in the training center,Sir. -It's nothing.Nieu should be easy plane what i have heard.Well ,here are yet one Parasol.Saumande gets to show the front line, landmarks and so.Dismiss! Sous Lieutenant Henry Caspar Castillac, born in Lyon 1897.His parents work as inn keepers.Served voluntary an infantry regiment.Transfered air service at spring 1915. 16-18 September The new scouts arrive here every day.Lorries bring them parts and maintenance staff. 19 September Henri's maiden flight here. -Okay,your first and mine last here,Sir!We make turn over the front and try to get out all troubles. No worry! Weather was really nice and sunshing. The Battle of Artois has began.Artillely barrages were intensive. No sign of EA. Henry an Morane Parasol L. Finally home and safe! -Farewell,Sir.Shoot the Boches down the sky. They shaked hands. -I promise that,Sergeant.
  13. Thank you compassion,Septoombs ! This is painful time mates! Two pilots, two deaths.I am very near an average WW1 pilots life expectancy.14 days or so... Hard to create novellic background when your pilot get killed before he becomes properly acquainted. Yet i have to confess one thing: During Armand's last flight i have a fever because Covid. So i was not the most attentive when flying.Sorry Armand! Sous Lieutenant Armand Bouchant (KiA 8\30\1915) 2 confirmed,10unconfirmed air victories.
  14. Continue... No much left of the Morane. Adj.Devienne and Sgt.Alibert got same fate. So ended glorious days of airfighters Jean Perron and Armand Bouchant. We miss them!
  15. Continue... Armand turned too sharply toward home and catastrophe was ready! Devienne and Armand collided! Both fell into their fate!
  16. 30 August Armand's Diary Offensive patrol to Vimy Ridge Squadron mate Adj.Jailler wrote: It would been a typical routine flight over the front,Bouchant just as eager to credit victories... Armand got it! Armand was too focus when followed Boche...
  17. August 27 Armand's Diary New guy arrived:Cpl Roland Wissemann. Offensive patrol Very density flak! Further back EA which Jean and i shooted down.At least claim but Le Sort want it too! 28 August New arrival:Sgt. Ignace Dauvegne Sacre Bleu! All three claim rejected!Propably Schneider and Le Sort get credit neither. Newspapers:Slt Adolphe Pegaud from MS49 granted title "Chevalier De La Legion D'Honneur". Handsome title, have to admit.
  18. 26 August We went patrol to the front, when we noticed AA clouds on the left.Boches were bombing Bethune railway station! They immediatly turned home when they saw us approaching. We caught them over the front.50 rounds and first Aviatik went toward the ground! First disppeared to the No-Man-Land! Second one smashed ruins of Bapaume! Two claim, although Schneider claim one of those.Le Sort will witness.
  19. Air battles continue... Jean got it! Duo Jailler-Saillard were our witnesses!Boche made force landing their own side. Victory confirmed! The battle was also seen by our observation balloon.
  20. Hey Raine! Armand's first claims never confirmed. May be one part was that a squadron member also claimed(don't know if it was the same machine) although rejected.
  21. 24 August Armand's Diary Depressing day.Capt. Fauvre blame himself what happened. Only patrol today was when Le Sort and i flew to the front .No enemies. 25 August Patrol over the trenches. We spotted lonely Aviatik!
  22. August 23 Late in the evening What a disastrous day! It was supposed to be a routine flight and the weather was good. A-flight that included Capitaine Fauvre ,Slt Turin and Adj.Schneider take off 30 min. before us. As we approached the field we noticed a smoke statue rising from behind it.At first we thought the Boche had bombed our field. But as we approached it,we identified it as the wreck of a Morane. We made a quick landing on the field. There was a another Morane which was damaged heavily. Turin and Schneider had collided in the air!Turin was smashed to the field and obs.Hilaire was killed instantly. Schneider's Morane crashed to the woods and burned.Somehow Schneider survived it but his observer Castelain did not. Both pilots wounded badly. We had survived many battles so long .
