RF-4C for SF2?
allenjb42 replied to allenjb42's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
What do you take me for? A noob or something! - just kidding Soulfreak I've just set up a Korean install which I'm extending up to date and I was going to either convert the 1st Gen plane or pull one from a campaign mod but just wanted to check that there wasn't an SF2 version already. Case closed. -

IDF Skins
allenjb42 replied to Phil56's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Wrench did these skins for DAT aircraft models. In fact he created full aircraft, but now the DAT will no longer allow models to be uploaded outside their website. I know they were on his website http://wrench1smog.c...nch19.html but I think he has closed the site. Maybe you could ask Wrench to upload just the skins here or see if he could ask Capun to upload the whole aircraft at the DAT site? -
Another trilogy and then new movies every 2-3 years? Talk about milking a cash cow! Unless they mess them up really bad I'll still go to see them though. And what JM said about the SW rides at the Disney theme parks is right. Because I went on the ride in Florida back in the 1980s I must admit I thought Lucas had already done the deal with Disney many years ago. btw is the planned SW tv series still on or has it been shelved in favour of new movies? And could we see some Disney produced Indy movies too?

AWACS Questions
allenjb42 replied to allenjb42's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hmmm, still not getting any Hawkeye in single missions even with navalmap=true and a new style water .bmp I've even put USN as a friendly nation in the Nations.ini and aren't seeing any ships appearing when I select an Israeli plane to fly. So, do I need to create some Israeli ships, and are any types of ships OK or do I need to create an Israeli aircraft carrier? -
Version
74 downloads
He 111 Skins Readme These skins are for the various versions of the He-111 created by the Dev A-Team and modded by me. The skins are interchangeable between aircraft versions, but for historical accuracy you should install them to the appropriate model. This skin is based on the work of David Green for the Ground Crew Design Team He-111H series for CFS2&3. To install, just extract the file to your Objects\Aircraft\He-111xx folder and go fly. It's that simple! The skin should be available in the drop down menu of the He-111xx Hangar Screen loadout section. Heinkel He-111P, KG-51 Edelweis Geschwader, Winter Scheme Thanks must go to the following: David Green for his work in creating the skin (I just converted it for use in SF) and for his kind permission in allowing me to bring the skins to the SF community. The SF Dev A-Team for creating this plane to fly in the Thirdwire sims. TK for SF,WOV,WOE,FE,WOI and who knows what else. Have fun, and good hunting! Allen (allenjb42) Burton Any problems, find me at combatace.com, simhq.com or the A-Team Skunkworks http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ -
Tell him he needs to edit the rotor diameter in the data.ini file!

Baltic Air Forces What-If Thread
allenjb42 replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
There's E-3 AWACs birds in the ODS and Operation Darius mods, not sure they're TMF models. Also, of course there's the E-2C Hawkeye included in NA, but that makes it a prerequisite for your mod. Maybe the Baltic states would follow NATO's example and pool their money for an AWACS squadron? Veltro2K made an A-50 Mainstay (still available?) - not likely that the Baltic states would buy any of those though! And you know Marcfighters was making a Brazilian R-99 AWACS - did you ever get a reply from him? -
Didn't see this posted already. New DLC is out.

E-2C mods question for you all...
allenjb42 replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
From my Israeli Air force bible 'Air War on the Edge' by Bill Norton... - The Israelis ordered 6 Hawkeyes in 1976 (Bu 160771 - 774) which were delivered starting in July 1978. - Serials were 941, 942, 944 & 946 and were assigned to 192 Squadron 'Hawkeye' based at Hatzerim. - The Israeli name was 'Daya' (Kite) but was commonly called 'Ayn Ha'Netz' (Hawkeye) - The aircraft left service in 1994. - The USN two tone grey paint (FS36320 & 36375) was retained as were American stencils. - Code numbers were carried on both sides of the nose and the forward nose gear door, although prior to 1982 the codes were not used at all. - The national stars were the 60cm diameter size used for fighters and were carried on both sides of the aft fuselage and on the upper left wing and lower right wing. - The 192 Squadron badge was displayed on both sides of the forward fuselage, just behind and below the cockpit glass. Hope that helps. -
E-2C mods question for you all...
allenjb42 replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Just USN and Japan in the skin pack, unless there's been an update since I downloaded it. On my phone now so I'll have to check in the morning. -
E-2C mods question for you all...

Just wondering if there's an Israeli skin out there somewhere for the TW Hawkeye. Would be a useful addition for the Lebanon '82 campaign and beyond. -

Marine Phantom books
allenjb42 replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Trotti also did "Marine Air - First To Fight" with photos by George Hall in 1986. I pulled my old copy off the shelf and there aren't as many photos as I remember but what there is are great. The book looks at all the then current USMC aircraft in turn including the F-4 and RF-4 and gives little mission scenarios that wouldn't look out of place in a Strike Fighters install. You could also try Googling George Hall to see of he has a website or online gallery. -
SF2 Israel
allenjb42 replied to Spiff's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If Egypt went Islamic as a result of the Arab Spring going awry you could also use the Mirage 2000, F-16, MiG 21 (with orange panels) aircraft/skins available in the downloads section for red force. -

SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion Pack v2.0 Gold - Part 1
allenjb42 replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Re-installed this over the weekend and am having a blast! I forgot just how good this essential mod is - thanks Eric. Are there any plans to update this to take advantage of the SF2:NA features like single mission carrier ops and stock E-2C and EA-6B? Maybe include Homefries' A-6A & B and EA-6B mods? -

The YAP team managed to simulate AAR ingame and I think Column5 cracked how they did it. I don't know if TK ever commented on it. -
Desert Storm Part 1 For SF2
allenjb42 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
@Toro: One way around this might be for all your carrier based aircraft to have a skin for the same airwing as textureset001 in your aircraft's .ini file so that when the game generates the parked planes on the carrier they should use that skin. -
Looking for a Sea Harrier
allenjb42 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I might be losing it but I was sure there was a RN Sea Harrier available as a stand alone aircraft to add to my NA install without having to extract it from The Falklands mod. Any idea where it might be or is it a WIP? -
Connery - Goldfinger (my favorite Bond in my favourite Bond movie. Ever) Lazenby - OHMSS (Agreed that it's very underrated. Just finished the book to which the movie sticks surprisingly closely. Also has the best ending of all the Bond movies. With the possible exception of Moonraker: Sir Frederick Gray, Minister of Defence: My God, what's Bond doing? Q: I think he's attempting re-entry, sir.) Roger Moore - Live and Let Die (although I do like the ski chase at the beginning of The Spy Who Loved Me) Pierce Brosnan - The World Is Not enough Daniel Craig - Casino Royale I've also got a soft spot for the David Niven/Woody Allen/Peter Sellers etc Casino Royale - a classic comedy way before Austin Powers was a twinkle in Mike Myers' eye. And if someone would re-do Never Say Never Again with a John Barry or David Arnold soundtrack and Shirley Bassey singing the title song I would be really grateful!
