  1. Glyn, Can you navigate to the EAWEuro terrain folder (within your main terrains folder) and see if there is a file called EAWEuro_BRIEFING If it's there then I don't know what the problem is. If it's not then download the mod I linked to above and copy one of the briefing files over to your EAWEuro terrain folder, change the name to EAWEuro_BRIEFING, and copy in this text: [HEADER] From=FM: NATO COMBINED OPS CENT BONN WEST GERMANY To=TO: %s %s WG [sITUATION] Base=In direct response to the attacks on West Germany by Warsaw Pact forces, U.S.-led NATO forces are fighting in the region to stabilize the situation and to safeguard the government of West Germany. FriendlyOffensive1=Elements of the %s are preparing to conduct an offensive to seize strategic objective near %s. FriendlyOffensiveEnd=%s has halted their recent advance at %s and are consolidating their defensive position. EnemyCounterOffensive=Intel believes the enemy is preparing for a counter-offensive to recapture %s. EnemyOffensive1=Intel believes enemy forces are currently transitioning from defensive to offensive posture and expect them to conduct long-range reconnaissance operations into %s. EnemyOffensive2=Enemy long-range reconnaissance activities have been reported near %s. Intel expects them to launch offensive operations into the area within the next 24 hours. EnemyOffensive3=Intel reports indicate enemy %s is about to launch an offensive to seize %s. EnemyOffensiveEnd=The enemy forces have halted their advance and are forming defensive positions near %s. FriendlyCounterOffensive=Elements of the %s is preparing to launch a counter-offensive to recapture %s. CAS=%s is tasked with providing close air support to the friendly ground forces. Default=Your squadron is on station to provide combat air patrol, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance as needed. [DefaultUnitNames] PlayerSquadron= FriendlyGround=1st W.German Panzer Div Then you should be OK. Let us know how you got on.
  2. Wrench, I think the problem here is before GlynD even gets to fly. This mod may help, although I thought the EuroEAW terrain already included a briefing.ini file http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=4044
  3. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=2088 Is this what you're looking for?
  4. List updated for the latest mods: F-15I and F-16I - thanks to USAFMTL and team C-130H skin thanks to Hrntfxr and Dels WOI campaign expansion - thanks to Johan War of Attrition and Golan Stalemate campaigns - thanks to Pancho
  5. Ok - that'll teach me to post before trying it!
  6. Nice skin Jim. Just one point though, the only time I've ever seen Israeli C-130s with the Israel Air Force markings on the forward fuselage is at airshows. The operational birds don't appear to have them. Is there any chance you could do a version of the skin without these markings? No big deal if you can't.
  7. I added the F-16I v2.0 last night to WOI, putting all the folders in the download into the correct places, but the overwing CFTs don't show up in the loadout or on the plane. Any help woul be appreciated. Thanks
  8. OK, links for all of the available aircraft are now in place. I'll be doing the skins next, and then the other available mods. The new War of Attrition campaign by R. Lee "Banger" Sullivan is now available. It nicely closes the gap between 1967 and 1973. It also got me thinking... With various people working on the 1948 era and the 1956 Suez/Sinai campagn and the imminent upgrading of the ultra-modern F-15I & f-16I, it should be possible to create similar campaigns to fill in the periods between the other wars. And if this is the case, could this become the first sim available to span 60 years of continuous air warfare? And from this...how about a super-campaign spanning the full period? You join say, 101 squadron flying Avia S199s in 1948, and upgrade through Spitfires, P-51s, Mysteres, Mirages, Neshers, Kfir C1, and C2 to complete the campaign on the F-16C or F-16D in 2008. Bet you would have some war stories when you finally retired!
  9. VFC-111

Just reporting that this has been moved to the aircraft downloads instead of the skins section.
  10. You might want to include something in the readme files about extending the game period for WOI, as these planes have start dates after the game finishes in 1985. The F-15I is 2002 and the F-16I is 2003.
  11. You betcha! But we'll need the modern stuff too. I had one of the guns on an A-4 jam last night in the middle of yanking and banking with a Syrian Mig-23 after plastering an airfield. I decided discretion was the better part of valour and made my excuses - tree top level all the way home. Don't know about the EAF, but the Israelis had NF13, T7, F8 and FR9 in 1956. I'm working on typing up an order of battle dated 29 October 1956 from Air War on the Edge tha I'll post tonight or tomorrow.
  12. Is it worth putting together a WOI weapons pack, with just the stuff relevant to WOI? We don't need all of the nation-specific weapons from the big weapons pack except for Israel and any of the arab countries, but we do need some WW2 stuff and some of the later 'weapons' like the Israeli camoflaged A-4 hump and F-4 tanks, the F-16I CFTs and the Popeye missiles, plus there will be relevant stuff in the MF weapons pack too. IMHO it's too much to ask the hopefully huge influx of new community members coming in on the back of WOI to try to cull all of the relevant stuff from so many sources themselves, merging various packs etc. I know I'm having trouble and I've been doing this a while!
  13. I'm in. Thanks for hosting the party Kevin. I can provide Israeli orders of battle from 1948-2001, as well as individual squadron details (number, name, dates, bases, aircraft). Oh, and some decals too if anyone needs them.
  14. CA song

MY P-47 is a pretty good ship and she took a round coming cross the Channel last trip Johnny Come Lately Steve Earle
  15. Wings over...

Wings Over North Africa WW2 desert war - Brits, Yanks, Germans and Italians - new prop FMs for all the WW2 stuff already available, not been done before so no comparisons with IL2, CFS etc, and TK gets to re-use his desert tiles.
  16. Had a look at Wiki over lunch at work. The Indonesians had Skyhawks too, which might make a neat twist, depending on when the action is set. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesian_Ai...craft_inventory Indonesia had used 33 A-4E/TA-4E Skyhawk II (ex-Israeli Air Force) until 2003. The first prototype was flying at 5 May 1980 from Halim Perdana Kusuma AFB, Jakarta. The aircraft were transport from Eliat(Israel) as part of Alpha Project in 1980. The aircraft were completely shipping through sea in 23 months. In service until 2003 they were replaced by two Russian Su-27SK and two Su-30MK. However, the Indonesian Air Force is planning to reactivate the A-4 Skyhawks by buying spare parts, after USA ended its weapons and spare part sales embargo. The aircraft made its final flight on 5 August 2005 from Makassar (Sulawesi) to Madiun (Java).
  17. Indonesian Mi-24s And an A-26 if you wanted to take it back further (already uploaded)
  18. Yes please! A more modern campaign with F/A-18s, Blackhawks, F-111s vs Indonesian Flankers & F-16s would be cool too. Oh, and I've got some Indonesian helo skins to upload at some point.
  19. Thanks for the pickup on the reference Eric.
  20. Do we have to re-name you Slartibartfast?
  21. Well, as the commercial goes, 'I'm lovin' it!' Two minor nitpicks though: 1 What happened to the refueling probe on the F-4E that was in the preview pics? It was first used experimentally in 1973 and then introduced fleet-wide from 1981, so it should have been available in the Lebanon campaign. I thought TK might have had another version of the Kurnass like he included multiple A-4E & H versions. 2 Where's the hangar music gone!
  22. LOL. Actually I thought it was a bit cheesy at the time, but I may re-do the pack now WOI is here and include Hava Nagila, maybe even include Lauren Rose's new version too... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wgdHjWPuCrI
  23. This might interest you. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=1730 I'm in the middle of downloading WOI as I type but this should be compatible. I'll be checking soon enough! Strike Fighters Israel Music Pack Readme This music pack is intended, as the name suggests, for an Israel or Mid East installation. I hope this pack provides appropriate menu music for your enhanced enjoyment of this great game. Installation: If you want to keep the original music you need to backup the following files from your Strike Fighters/Menu folder: MainScreen.wav SingleMissionScreen.wav HangarRadio1.wav DebriefSuccess.wav DebriefFail.wav DebriefKilled.wav OptionsScreen.wav All you need to do then is to extract the files in this pack to the Menu folder, load up the game and enjoy the music. Track Listing: MainScreen.wav - 'The Road to Jerusalem' from 'Cast A Giant Shadow' SingleMissionScreen.wav - 'Israeli Air Force 50th Anniversary Theme' HangarRadio1.wav- 'The Raid' from 'Raid On Entebbe' DebriefSuccess.wav - 'Yerushalayim Shel Zahav - Jerusalem of Gold' by Naomi Shemer. This version is from 'Schindler's List' and performed by The Ramat Gan Chamber Choir, Tel Aviv, Israel DebriefFail.wav - 'Im In Alu - If The Doors Are Locked' by Ofra Haza DebriefKilled.wav - 'Chom Yuli-Ogust - July August Heat' by Shlomo Artzi OptionsScreen.wav - 'Janes IAF Theme' I've included a document with translations of the songs in the debrief screens, as well as some biographical details of the artists/composers which can serve as a starting point if you want to get into this in more detail. As a resource for the campaign gurus I've also included .wavs of the national anthems for Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. Maybe someone can use these and release some Arab/Israeli campaigns? Finally, I've included two bonus tracks that you can rename to use as music for any of the screens: 1) Shir Hapalmach is an instrumental of the song of the Palmach - the forerunner of the IDF 2) Another version of 'Yerushalayim Shel Zahav - Jerusalem of Gold,' performed this time by the Dor L?Dor Singers and it is probably a bit closer to Naomi Shemer's vision of how the song should be performed. All of the above music tracks are free downloads from various record company websites in various formats and have been converted to the correct format for use in game by me. There are therefore no file sharing issues in respect of this music pack. Enjoy. Allen
  24. You'll have noticed that this is now a sticky. Thanks to USAFMTL for his prompt response! My intention is to update the first post with links to all of the available mods in the list. Please feel free to add your all your IAF related screenies, WIPs etc here for everyone to see centrally. Thanks for your support so far. Now WOI is here the sky is the limit!
