Any Interest In an F-15S?
allenjb42 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes please to the F-15S. It'll make a nice companion to Sundowner's Saudi F-15C and Tornado skins. -
F-15E Strike Eagle Version 1.3
allenjb42 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Re-read them all last year (Kevin, you missed about half the series). It's suprising how good the continuity actually is. Try looking for them on ebay - you should pick up a few bargains. Here's the full list of his books http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/h/richard-herman/ Not heard of anything from him for a while. Hope he's still with us. Firebreak would be a good modern campaign for WOI, and The Warbirds/Force of Eagles would be good for the Iran/Iraq terrain as a campaign and mission set respectively. Heck, you could probably do the first mission for The Warbirds in WOI right now - USAF F-4E's based in Egypt intercepting Libyan MiG-23s that in turn are intercepting a USAF C-130 flying a relief mission. Oh, and the Phantoms are guns only.... -

Solo runs in WOI in an F-15E. Who do you think you are, Matt Pontowski? -
File Name: Mi-24 Iraq File Submitter: allenjb42 File Submitted: 20 Mar 2008 File Category: Mil Helicopters File Version: No Information Website: No Information Strike Fighters/Wings Over Vietnam/Wings Over Europe etc Mi-24 skins readme All credit for these skins goes to their creators as detailed below. All I've done is to re-format them for SF\WOV\WOE and add a textureSet to each skin. Not all of the countries for which we have skins are included in the standard NATIONS.ini list, so I've left those as Soviet. It doesn't make any difference to the skins' appearance as there are no decals to worry about. If you have the New Nations mod that includes these missing countries then feel free to modify the relevant TextureSet. All you need to do is to extract the skin to your Objects\Aircraft\Mi-24 folder, then go fly and blow up some stuff. Thanks must go to the A Team for making the Mi-24 for SF\WOV\WOE, Tim Conrad for the original Mi-24V, and of course TK for giving us these great sims to play with. This skin is based on Rene Spaan's textures. Enjoy, and good hunting Allen ps You can use these skins in any mods, campaigns etc, but please name check me and the original skinners in your credits as a courtesy. Stock F-15 in Wings Over Israel
allenjb42 replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
There's an Israeli one that I got working on the WOI Baz by renaming the .bmps and editing the decal.ini http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=3051 I tried to contact the author, zyzy6464, to ask if he wanted to amend and re-upload and offered to upload my amended copy (with full credit to him for the skin) but haven't heard anything back for a couple of weeks. It looks like he only ever made 2 posts here, unless he' uses another name. Any suggestions? -

Just to let you guys know that this should be compatible with the WOI F-15A too. You'll need to rename the .bmps and the path in the decals.ini -

Weps pack for WoI?
allenjb42 replied to Caveman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Gotcha. BTW the AA-6, 10, 11 and 12 series of Sov AAMs don't appear to be in the pack. If you want Mig 25s and 29s and Su 27s to have the correct armament your going to have to bring them in yourself. -

An embarassment of riches with this update: The Mirage Factory have brought us multiple versions of the F-4E Kurnass, the RF-4E and a WOI weapons pack too! Pancho has completed his trilogy of 'filler campaigns' with his War for the Water, covering 1963-67 Kout has produced an essential new mainscreen for WOI All linked on the list. -
Weps pack for WoI?
allenjb42 replied to Caveman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So just to clarify, if I've been using the MF weapons pack in WOI and adding individual weapons from Buny's pack, I should now delete my weapons folder and install the WOI weapons pack? -

EAWEuro Briefing screen problem
allenjb42 replied to GlynD's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Glyn, Can you navigate to the EAWEuro terrain folder (within your main terrains folder) and see if there is a file called EAWEuro_BRIEFING If it's there then I don't know what the problem is. If it's not then download the mod I linked to above and copy one of the briefing files over to your EAWEuro terrain folder, change the name to EAWEuro_BRIEFING, and copy in this text: [HEADER] From=FM: NATO COMBINED OPS CENT BONN WEST GERMANY To=TO: %s %s WG [sITUATION] Base=In direct response to the attacks on West Germany by Warsaw Pact forces, U.S.-led NATO forces are fighting in the region to stabilize the situation and to safeguard the government of West Germany. FriendlyOffensive1=Elements of the %s are preparing to conduct an offensive to seize strategic objective near %s. FriendlyOffensiveEnd=%s has halted their recent advance at %s and are consolidating their defensive position. EnemyCounterOffensive=Intel believes the enemy is preparing for a counter-offensive to recapture %s. EnemyOffensive1=Intel believes enemy forces are currently transitioning from defensive to offensive posture and expect them to conduct long-range reconnaissance operations into %s. EnemyOffensive2=Enemy long-range reconnaissance activities have been reported near %s. Intel expects them to launch offensive operations into the area within the next 24 hours. EnemyOffensive3=Intel reports indicate enemy %s is about to launch an offensive to seize %s. EnemyOffensiveEnd=The enemy forces have halted their advance and are forming defensive positions near %s. FriendlyCounterOffensive=Elements of the %s is preparing to launch a counter-offensive to recapture %s. CAS=%s is tasked with providing close air support to the friendly ground forces. Default=Your squadron is on station to provide combat air patrol, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance as needed. [DefaultUnitNames] PlayerSquadron= FriendlyGround=1st W.German Panzer Div Then you should be OK. Let us know how you got on. -

Wrench, I think the problem here is before GlynD even gets to fly. This mod may help, although I thought the EuroEAW terrain already included a briefing.ini file http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=4044 -
