  1. Basically because the skins are conversions of those released for the Mi-24 available for MSFS. My skills don't really go much further! If you or anyone else wants to mod the skins and/or make the decals for the individual aircraft numbers please feel free.
  2. This is from Capun's tech support thread: It seems that there is a bug with WoI that will be adressed in the next patch. This bug causes the main rotors of any helicopter to stop working but the tail rotors seem to work fine. There is a temporary workaround found by Kreelin. To fix it, open the helicopter's data ini. For this example we will use the Mi--24 Look for the Engine3 system type that drives the main rotor [Engine3] SystemType=PROP_ENGINE InputName=THROTTLE_CONTROL EngineID=3 . . . NumBlades=5 PropDiameter=8.1 <- use this value instead of the stock 17.3 // 17.3 The rotor stops working with a propDiameter=8.2, where is the actual break down between 8.1 and 8.2 has not been found and not deemed worth the trouble to define it. I tried using 8.1 and no joy. Changed it to 8.0 and now it works fine with all the choppers I have in WOI.
  3. Some more variants now avalable: Mi-24V Hind E Early model: Soviet skin Poland Mi-35 Hind E early model Angola India
  4. There was something similar in Iron Eagle III. What was that black bad guy plane? And that was over 15 years ago! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA941GqqJFU...feature=related
  5. Has anyone heard of this SM-27 Machete? it looks pretty cool as a concept COIN and tactical fighter, but I wonder what it would be like in real life? http://www.stavatti.com/machete/m_homepage.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM27JL_GALLERY.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM27ST_GALLERY.html http://www.stavatti.com/SM47_GALLERY.html There are models to download for Xplane on the site too. I wonder if we could get them into SF? Here's one in USAF colours And, of course, the obligatory IAF repaint
  6. Holy Moly!

    Many happy returns!
  7. Looks like I'm going have to dig out all those Chinese planes I downloaded and saved over the years and take the plunge to set up a(nother) new install!
  8. I'm a rocketman!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7402016.stm Think we could get one of these in SF? We'd need a James Bond pilot in a dinner suit too!
  9. Wrench has got a B-57 hangar screen - scroll down to the bottom of the page http://wrench1smog.com/wrench4.html
  10. Is there any chance you could post a screenshot of your Objects\Aircraft folder? It might help.
  11. Kev, I think it may be a good idea to put something about adding pilots in the KB. Feel free to use my screenshot if it'll help.
  12. Happy birthday Israel.

    Happy Yom Haatzmaut Israel.
  13. List updated a bit belatedly for Lloyd's Beechcraft skin. Thanks a lot mate.
  14. A couple more now uploaded: Mi-25 Hind D Afghanistan Peru Mi-35P Hind F (late) Cyprus Sri Lanka
  15. Are you basically getting the checkered helmet pilot in every plane? Can you add different modern pilots to your other, non-WW2 planes? If so, then that sounds like a bug. The only thing I can suggest is that you do a fresh, fully patched, install and have another go at adding the WW2 planes and pilots. Unless anyone else has any ideas...
  16. No, WOE shouldn't be a problem. I copied a Spitfire from my SFGETO instal to WOE and it was fine Here's a screenshot of my WOE Objects\Aircraft folder where you can see the Spitfire and pilot. As you can see there are lots of other poilots in there too, but the Spit flies with the right one. Here's the pilot part of the data.ini - note where the PilotModelName has to say the name of the pilot you want. // Crew----------------------------------- [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=PilotSpitfire Position=0.0000,-0.1218,0.6308 MinExtentPosition=-0.300,0.35,0.500 MaxExtentPosition= 0.300,-0.15,1.350 CanopyNodeName=Cockpit HasArmor=TRUE ArmorMaterial=STEEL Armor[FRONT].Thickness=1 Armor[REAR].Thickness=5 Other than that I'm a bit stumped.
  17. Is this with all WW2 pilots? There are a few of them around. If you're having trouble with a particular pilot then try one of the others. And is this with all planes? Some of the WW2 planes, like those from the A Team, come with the pilot as part of the download. It's usually in a folder called crew, and you need to copy the contents of the folder to your aircraft folder. The Data.ini of those are already set up to take the appropriate pilot. I just checked the Spitfire 1A and that's the case, so that plane should show a WW2 pilot when you fly it in game. Let us know how you get on.
  18. Just click on downloads at the top of the screen and then you'll see a button to click called 'add files'
  19. Yeah, I agree. This looks like it could be an interesting scenario.
  20. If you register at their forum the link is in the Board and File Policies section. The forum is at http://cplengineeringllc_bb.cplengineering...9385dc497aaafe2
  21. You need to go into each aircraft's data.ini and specify the pilot you want. This is from Wrench's site (and in the KB too? I haven't checked) If you haven't extracted the data.ini for the aircraft you wish to modify, do so. If already extracted, open up the **data.ini for your aircraft of choice. In the example below, we are using the F-100D -- Find the section marked crew, as below: // Crew --------------------------------------------------------- [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName= * Position=0.00,4.15,0.88 SeatModelName=seat_f-100 SeatPosition=0.00,3.98,0.45 MinExtentPosition=-0.25,3.52,-0.30 MaxExtentPosition= 0.25,4.83, 1.09 CanopyNodeName=canopy_frame_rear_outer * = left blank in this example If your data ini does not have the line: PilotModelName= You =MUST= add it. Then, you can add the pilot figure of choice. Remember, it is case sensitive, so if it's "PILOTAF" you must use all capitals. If it's "PilotCH", you must use the upper and lower case lettering. Adding ".lod" is NOT required.
  22. Just the same as for planes, you download them into the Objects\Aircraft folder.
  23. Some of the Hinds on the way: Mi-24D Mi-24P - Early version with IR jammer behind the rotor Mi-24P - Later version with the IR jammer but also with IR suppressors fitted over the engine exhausts Also coming will be the Mi-24V (in early and later versions) Mi-25, Mi-35 and 35P (also with early and later versions). Two skins per aircraft, all interchangeable, and more skins will be uploaded seperately too. The aircraft will be available at Capun's site and the skins both here and at Capun's site.
  24. Unfortunately not WK - you could try asking Capun if he would take a look at it.
