older carrier mods
fallenphoenix1986 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've checked the KB and ran a search and turned up nothing so I'll ask here Are the older carriers mods (Albion, Bulwark, Ark Royal, Vindictive) compatable with SFP1 post oct08 patch. I've tried simply placing the ships in the ground object folder, tehn entries added to the terrain types list but no joy. Craig -

yeah, been using the libya terrain and comrpnt's carrier mission pack. I've taken one of his missions and swapped out the carrier for the Clemenceau, Eagle, Nimitz, Garibaldi, Invincible and Hermes and never had a problem with these ships. Its only the 4 mentioned above thatarecausing problems. Craig -

a Hawk 200 :) -
I reckon the Aussie climate would suit me better (I dont do cold lol) though from what I've heard that offer only applies to those coming to the end of their service in foreign forces. Funny you should mention submarine service as thats "Sub-surfface warfare officer" is plan B after pilot/observer. Craig

Failed RAF aircrew selection on grounds of eyesight, on the plus side I was then told that I had met Royal Navy aircrew vision standards. Trouble is I have to start the application process from scratch this year so I'm a year behind where I want to be and I'm going to get sea sick lol. Why standards in the Navy and Army differ from the RAF is beyond me. Oh yeah and I lost my job on December 27th... company went bust. Craig

RAF Lightning F.Mk6 on some of the problems
fallenphoenix1986 replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
as far as I'm aware noone has yet produced a Lightning cockpit, if you want to substitute the F-100's for another pit then copy and paste the cockpit folder, cockpit ini & avionics ini from the donor aircraft into your lightning folder. You will also need to open the data ini of the donnor aircraft and copy the "detectsystem" section and paste that into the lightning data ini. Once youve done this you must rename the copied ini files and rename them as per the names listed in the lightning config.ini. Craig -

Favorite Mods, Aircraft of 2008
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
After much thought on this I think my vote has to go on the Typhoon, excellent model and one of if not the best and most functional panel I have yet to come accross. The F-35 would have to be a close second Craig -
STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
With regard to Soviets doing double shots or radr and IR, I've read this to though I'm fairly sure it was IR then radar otherwise the IR may lock onto and track the radar guided missile so if it missed they both did. Craig -
I have a conffesion to make
fallenphoenix1986 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok the idea of this is to admit to the dumbest thing youve done while flying in game. Last night I installed the Su-27 in WOI and decided to try it out in single mission. Expecting to go up against an Typhoon, F-15 or F-16 I was rather disapointed to find that the gods of the mission generator paired my flight off against a flight of Swifts... I got two with AA-10's then closed to get my ass shot out from under me.... sneaky b******s were hauling Aim-9L's.... moral of the story never underestimate anyone or asume anything! whos next? canopy animations
fallenphoenix1986 replied to zmatt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
rather than opening a new thread I thought I'd post this here as its really got me stumped. I've been working on the AI hunters making them flyable in WOI and have used the data.ini that STORM provided, if I use the ini in the link then the canopy functions however if I copy and paste the relevent code into my in progress ini it nolonger works. Exibit A the downloaded ini: CanopyNodeName=Canopy_Rear CanopyAnimationID=10 HasArmor=FALSE [Canopy] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_1 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL AnimationTime=6.0 AnimationID=10 Exibit B my entry: CanopyNodeName=Canopy_Rear CanopyAnimationID=10 HasArmor=FALSE [Canopy] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_1 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL AnimationTime=6.0 AnimationID=10 how can one work and the other not if theyre identical? Meteor Missile
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Spiff's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
"the history of aim 54 proofs that there is no interest for missiles with range over 100 km" a handful of Iranian Tomcat and Iraqi Mig pilots might beg to differ... being able to reach out and touch your oponent is always a nice option to have :) Craig -
