I am a long term eye candy man with FSX, AFS2 and other civilian flight sims. This sim is really great, and really the first one I am bothering to try to learn to fly in the right way rather than in chase view. Flying over London in this one is one of the first things I did when I bought this and I was a little disappointed but it will no doubt be a very good target for future German bombing missions. I see you have completed your training and been posted to RFC 24 squadron and was wondering how many hours training is usual before going to an operational squadron?

Sorry for this silly question but when I hit M I cannot see my aircraft on the map screen. How do I zoom in whilst in map view? This is not in the FAQ, probably too simple I think.

I read on my source that they only made 65 machines. Three were sent for testing to the western front but were rejected as not being suitable because of being underpowered. Palmed off to the Russians who upgraded the engines they proved quite successful in their war. Reminds me of the P39 in WWII, very popular in Russia (they loved the tricycle landing gear and its low level performance) but relegated to Pacific backwaters in US service. I wonder why our lot (Australia) did not sell the Boomerang fighter to the Russkis as well.

Belated hello from Down Under Bagpipe.

We need video of bombing.

Great Picture. Where was that a painting of? In 1916 I would have thought the English beaches would have been closed to holiday makers.

Probably a bit off topic but last Tuesday my pals and I flew a 4 vs 4 dogfight mission in Wings of Glory. Each of us had 2 planes of the same type. I flew 2 Camels, another 2 Siemens Schukerts D.III's, another Fokker Dr1's and my friend 2 Sopwith Snipes. My planes were both downed first (when I drew successive explosion damage cards), next to go were both of the Siemens, then both DR1's were shot down leaving victory to the Sopwith Snipes. I know the best planes went to the most experienced in real life, but I wondered if this was the case that sometimes the best planes were also downed first irrespective of quality of machine or pilot.

It does not happen over the front just where the scenery is busy like over a city. No biggie, probably laptop with dual video cards thing. When my wife finally retires I will get my gaming rig back (currently her office computer) and I am thinking the problem will go away.

If I hit L I seem to get many instances of the same place name coming up like a stack of cards. Anyone else experienced this and how to fix please?

I also fly in Aerofly FS2 which is a civilian sim (but it does have a camel). After a quick flight around Menorca this morning I switched to BH&HII and found that the game did not recognise my joystick! Vaguely recollect this happening decades ago with MSFX and IL2 Sturmovik. The obvious solution is not to fly anything else before WoFF but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

3rd January 1915. Sgt. Boris Johnson here (my campaign career pilot). I took off this morning in my trusty Be2C with my observer Sgt. Turner for a test flight from Farnborough. It was snowing but I could see blue sky in between the clouds so I was thinking it would stop pretty quickly. I had thoughts of sight seeing over London but the snow did not stop and it was absolutely freezing. I do not know what Turner was playing at but he kept pointing that gun thingy back over my head and standing up for the whole flight! The idiot must have been frozen in place, what does he think this is ... the wild west! Perhaps I should ask for a new observer before he falls over and blows my head off. Anyway, I turned back after 10 minutes or so and landed back safely at Farnborough after around 15 minutes of flying. It was still snowing and I could see why operations had been cancelled but .... it gets so boring just sitting around waiting for the weather to change.

Using quick combat, I flew and orientation flight in an early BE2. I managed to land successfully back at my airfield. What great graphics and I loved my observer being in front of me and pointing a .303 rifle back over my head!

Thank you.

My wife uses the front office for her work so I am relegated to a spare bedroom in the back of house and my laptop. I get less than a quarter of the internet speed back here, so I moved the laptop to the front to do my BH&HII download. Only took about 15 minutes or so. Smooth install.

Hi All, In the quick combat menu there is a preview window that shows the plane you are going to fly. When I change skins that picture remains the same. Is this a fault or is there a menu button that activates the current skin to display please?

WOFF: BHaH II - Getting the word out
VFC_Baxter replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
For those old foggies like me who do not do facebook, do not forget the Aerodrome forum, Wings of Glory Forum, or any other old school type forums. -
Slightly disappointed with the lack of early planes. I was going to try to recreate the career of Franz Becker from the N L Collier novels but there is no Eastern Front Albatros CI or Moranes (or Albatros DI which is where I am up to in the novels).

WOFF: BHaH II First Impressions & Pilot Survival Tips
VFC_Baxter replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
My first impression was that it is more stable. In PE, I used to crash to desktop if I picked Campaign from the main menu and I had to rename the opening WMV file to get the game to run at all. No problems with this one. -

How many of us still fly WOFF?
VFC_Baxter replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I re-installed WOFF UE the other day after reloading Windows on my PC. I am not much of a pilot and have not flown it for 18 months or so but glad to be back up there. -
Hi, I recently re-installed CFS2 but cannot remember how to get an aircraft come up in my selectable airfields in my quick combat start field. I am sure it was something to do with messing about with a CFG file or similar but any help would be appreciated.

No but I had thought about joining. Sorry for your experience but thank you for posting, you confirmed my reservations about them. So many resources online these days. The good folks on this forum have always been a good source of information for me too. Have you tried the Rise of Flight web site

Nice shots. I love those French tanks too! Any chance of seeing some bombing shots, maybe a bridge hit or something equally spectacular?
