Which SF2 game is the best?
jomni replied to guyran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You can actually vote for all in the online poll above. But if I were to chose only one... it would be SF2I. Because it's historical and balanced (except for Lebanon '82). SF2 comes in second because of the unique merc campaign. -
It's me again. Can't seem to make TrackIR work with FC2.0. The game actually detects it in the controls setting screen and you can assign axis to the view controls. But it does nothing when flying. The TrackIR also has no lights when playing. Used to work with stock LOMAC. Any tips?

Update: now using TrackIR 5 software with my TrackIR 4 device and it works like a charm.

No. Will try to upgrade later. Thanks for the help.

Screenshot Thread

something's out of scale in that last picture. -
If it's a fatal shot, it's more realistic that way? But if you're wounded or even critically woulded, you should still be aware of your surroundings.

TrackIR 4...

I'm having a very hard time hitting with the Mav. The A-10 just keeps swinging wildly so I need to adjust trim very often and it still swings. The targets are also little dots so it's hard to get a good lock and I have to try a lot of times. Any tips? Update: I guess it's all about experience. I'm getting better now, but not good enough. I get to make the plane more stable with extensive use of trim. Something that I don't do in the SF series.

Maverick Deployment
jomni replied to jomni's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Thanks! I guess the twist was the problem. Bought a new HOTAS (Thustmaster T.Flight) and retired my Saitek Cyborg Evo. It has a screw to lock the flight stick from twisting. I then assigned rudders to the paddles in the throttle. Less use of trimming from now on. -
F-8 Crusader vs MiG-17 in Vietnam

Don't care who's better... The Mig-17 is the best! -

Saitek AV8R-02 and SF2:V
jomni replied to Orangehat44's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Same experience with another Saitek stick happened to me in LOMAC. Buttons don't work. What you can do is to use the Saitek Button Mapping Software instead to assign key presses to each button. But in my case, the Saitek Stick (cyborg evo) is automatically detected by SF2 games. -
Hi finally bought LOMAC 1.01 and took it for a spin. Still don't have FC2 at the moment. My problem is that the joystick buttons (Saitek Cyborg Evo) assigned do not respond at all. Axis functions work fine though. How do fix this? I'll be getting FC2 soon though does it fix this issue?

Joystick trouble
jomni replied to jomni's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Well its working now. I installed 1.02 patch. Deleted all the key bindings in the in-game control configuration screen (for joystick only). Assigned keyboard keys to certain buttons using the Saitek profile software. As for your throttle, in the in-game config screen, select your joystick, look at the axis assignments... -

Congrats Raden here's your Pheasant. We all know that English is not your first language so this is all just for fun. Keep posting and keep practicing your English. -
No kill like a guns kill
jomni replied to streakeagle's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Anyway, looks like LOMAC has a superb mission editor to compensate. But I still like the idea of jumping in a "random" mission like in SF2 better. LOMAC's definitely in my radar from now on... -
What's with the "bump mapping" (bumps in the nose)?

copy protection questions
jomni posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I have never played LOMAC and now getting more interested in FC2. I know that I need the original LOMAC installed but that comes with Starforce (I'm trying to avoid it... hehe). FC2's copy protection is via activation method which is not so much of a problem. But since I need original LOMAC... Starforce is still in use right? I think I can also get the original LOMAC from Steam. Does FC2 work with the Steam version. -
copy protection questions

Just checked... not steam... just IL-2 Ok. So guess I'll just pick up a LOMAC cd down at the local store. They're very inexpensive. Thanks. -

Haven't played LOMAC but are campaigns dynamic? I hear they are scripted linked missions like IL-2. I realy dislike this. -

Is this compatible with the Expansion Pack installed? -
The new saitek stick is looking good. Looks more serious than it's predecessors. Anyone reviewing this? http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/x65f.htm

WOE/WOV ?
jomni replied to 72vwbus's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
He said OCT08 patch... this means it's the WOX seires. And WOV and WOE can be merged because the installer gives you the option right? -
it this a Thirdwire teaser or a Modder teaser?
